“Well, whenever you’re ready for bed Jewel, the bottom cabinet in the hallway has the extra blanket and pillow for you. Just in case I forgot to tell you later.”

The girls continue to talk throughout the night, they get comfortable on the couch, finish off their snacks and occasionally let their attention slip to the television. I’m so glad I’ve got this night with Jewel. We really do need to spend more time together, especially like this…

  CHAPTER EIGHT

The next morning, Alyssa does her best to keep from waking up Jewel, who apparently has gotten accustomed to sleeping in. Can’t blame her, though. She said she’s been exhausted from traveling and this is finally her chance to rest. As usual, Alyssa does her makeup and picks out a stylish outfit that will prove that she has the sense to work in a fashion boutique. She chooses a curve complimenting skirt, and an elegant blouse, gives herself a look over in the mirror before nodding with approval. Eventually, Alyssa makes it out to the kitchen where her coffee has finished brewing. She pours the hot, black liquid into her travel mug and finishes adorning her coffee with sugar and milk. Then she sets it back on the hot plate so that Jewel can have some when she wakes up.

As Alyssa is leaving, she bids Jewel a goodbye, but before the door closes Jewel calls out to her rather groggily from the other room, “I’ll stop by later.”

“Sounds good Jewel, there is some coffee for you in the kitchen. See you later.”

With that Alyssa gets into her car and leaves. While making her way to work, Alyssa is thankful that she doesn’t have to deal with the morning traffic. Actually, the normal rush is just ending and the traffic is starting to disperse right as she hits the road. The lack of heavy traffic doesn’t shield her from the actions of other terrible drivers – she curses at a few people along her route. Idiots need to learn how to drive.

After she pulls into the parking lot at work, she rummages through her bag for her work keys. When she finds them, she gets out and opens the door up. Before she starts her morning routine, she locks the door back and turns around. Ah, just another day in paradise, she thinks to herself as she sips her coffee. While she walks to the front counter, she takes the same mental checklist of the store, getting an idea for what parts will need to be tended to. This morning Alyssa starts up the computer and walks into her back room. Immediately, she grabs up some of the stock that she already knows she is out of on the floor, and she grabs some of the leftover boxes of the new arrivals.

She loads them on a dolly and pushes them out onto the floor. From there she starts unpacking the boxes and hanging up the new arrivals and other things that she was running low on. When she’s done, she takes the empty boxes around back for disposal. When she enters the store again she sits down to sip on her coffee and she can hear the rumbling of a motorcycle in the distance. Her heart skips a beat. Vincent? No. It could be anyone riding by… Don’t be silly. Ugh. Alyssa shakes the thought off as she runs her fingers through her hair. But it could be him.

Alyssa turns on her music so that she can distract herself from the sound of it and starts to get to work on making sure everything is in its proper place on the floor. She moves one item immediately that she caught a glimpse of earlier, a sundress in with the tank tops. These lazy people. All you had to do was take five steps in the other direction to put the dress back. For goodness’ sake! She isn’t even a fourth of the way done before she sees Vincent at the window peering in. When she notices him, she can’t help but to smile as she walks over to open the door for him.

“I wasn’t expecting you here.” Alyssa states blatantly. “It’s good to see you.”

“I wasn’t expecting to be here, either. It kind of just happened.”

“Kind of just happened, how are those practically the first words you’re going to say to me after all this time?” Alyssa retorts back. Crap. I meant to keep that to myself…

At first, Vincent doesn’t respond. He just half shrugs with an apologetic expression. She rolls her eyes and gets back to taking care of the rest of her shop. She begins putting things back to where they belong. Vincent starts to speak up. “You know-”

“-that you haven’t been yourself lately? You’ve been mopey and-.” Alyssa cuts herself off. “Sorry… I didn’t mean that… I’m just-.” Alyssa stops. I can’t just tell him that I’m mad at him for sleeping around… It’s not like we promised each other much of anything, just another night of sex when he returned… I just really wanted him to only want me though…Alyssa takes a breath in, “Why did you come here?”

“I wanted to talk to you.”

“About?” Alyssa response is curt while she finishes moving the rest of the things that were out of place to their correct places. From there she walks back to her desk to start working on her social media account. Gingerly, she types on the keyboard. Vincent follows her and leans forward on the counter. He’s just going to get in the way this morning. I need to be marking things on sale, checking the back room again, and double checking to make sure I didn’t miss anything. He’s thrown off my whole morning. I advertised a bigger sale for today and I haven’t even made sure everything is in line for that. Alyssa complains to herself while she tries to be intent with her computer.

“I’m sorry I didn’t have a chance to talk more last night.”

Alyssa’s gaze is drawn from her computer to Vincent and she just stares at him. Did I just hear him correctly? He’s apologizing... Well, that’s a start, she thinks to herself as their eyes lock. Alyssa looks at him, dressed in his open vest, and dark black, denim jeans. His hair is slicked back and she can see part of the wolf tattoo on his neck and for a moment it’s as if everything pauses. In the very next second she is closing the distance between them and pushing him back towards the dressing room. As their mouths mingle Alyssa can taste the beer on his tongue, it doesn’t mix well with her coffee but she doesn’t care.

Eventually, she can’t even make out the taste anymore, and she’s slipping her hands into his vest and pulling it down off his arms. Her hands caress and trace his muscles and before she can open the door he’s turned them around so her back is against the dressing room door and he opens it. As he does he’s sure to hold her weight so she doesn’t fall backwards, once inside he hoists her up onto the chair-like table. There’s a smile on his face as he starts under her skirt and he places his warm, rough hands on her thigh, he traces her skin up until he can feel her panties. When he does he caresses her clit through the cloth and she pulls him close to kiss him. His motions send shivers through her body and she doesn’t want him to stop.

While their tongues go back and forth, fighting for a place in each other’s mouths, he continues to tease her then he slips his finger under her panties and traces her now wet opening before slipping a couple fingers in. Alyssa pulls away from the kiss only to bite her lip and then bite his neck. Teasingly he rubs his fingers against her g-spot and on occasion she stops biting his neck because of the sheer pleasure. She has a hard time focusing on him. Then, he slips her underwear off, and she starts undoing his pants. She bites up to his ear to nibble on it and he grabs her breasts. Turning them, squeezing the voluptuous lumps until his pants are open enough for her to slide his wide, hard erection out from his boxers.

While she tries to focus on him, she starts to rub his cock. She runs her hands along the length of it, before beginning to play with the head. Next she bends down enough to tease him with her mouth. She rolls her tongue around on his head, and begins sucking on it. It sends shivers of pleasure over his body and he works to stifle his moans, only to fail as she shoves more of it into her mouth and plays with it furiously. She makes a few in and out motions before Vince is pulling her away and shoving his throbbing dick into her, he pulls out once and he slides in slowly a second time, letting his erection fill her up until she’s trying to get him to go deeper, then he cedes. Vince continues with a hard, fast rhythm.

“Oh Vince. Oh!” Alyssa moans. “Mmm. Fuck me more.”

  At the
sound of her moans he continues with a steady rhythm and just when Alyssa thinks it isn’t possible to go any faster, he surprises her and she succumbs to the pleasure, letting her moans resonate in her boutique. While Vince is usually an enduring lover, he makes sure he has put her in a position that rubs her wonderfully, and she finishes in record time. She knows that once he feels her vagina throbbing against his shaft, he will let himself finish too.

  CHAPTER NINE

“Oh shit.” Alyssa comments as she opens the dressing room door and notices the clock on the opposite wall. Shit! I’m 15 minutes late opening the store, she thinks as she adjusts her underwear and runs her fingers through her hair. She shakes her head in disapproval as she briskly walks to the door, and unlocks it while flipping her sign to “open.” I’m never late opening my store. I hope these customers aren’t new… I don’t want them thinking I can’t be punctual, they look impatient and judgmental, shit. Alyssa sighs. There are a few older ladies outside waiting, they seem to have been growing impatient because they are tapping their feet, with their arms crossed on their chest as the look at her with an annoyed expression.

“I’m sorry to have kept you lovely ladies waiting. Please, come on in.” Alyssa sheepishly urges as she holds the door open for them. “Please take your time and look around. There is a display over there for the items that have been marked down today. If you need any help, just let me know. I’ll be happy to assist.”

Alyssa closes the door behind them and huffs as begins to make her way to the counter. As she does she hears one of the old ladies speak up from behind her.

“Ohh-ho, I see what I want!” one of the older ladies with a raspy, soft voice exclaims as she notices Vincent in the store. “Such a fine looking young man. You’re Vincent, from Seven Ravens, aren’t you? The guitar player. Oh-ho.” she continues. “Don’t be shy. Here, give me a moment.” She says as she looks at her purse.

Vince chuckles nervously but nods and is patient with the woman as she starts to fumble through her purse. She pulls quite a few things out while mumbling to herself before she finds what she is looking for.

“Here, here, please sign this. It’s an autograph for my daughter.” She says as she winks and elbows him. “I knew you guys were playing this month, but I never expected to see you in a little boutique like this! Oh my daughter is going to love this.”

Alyssa leans back on her counter as she watches the old ladies and Vincent interact. Vincent takes the pen and signs his autograph for her. By this time the other ladies have pulled out things for him to sign, and he autographs them, too, with a polite smile on his face.

As the first lady puts her pen away, she pulls out an older smartphone. “Er. Hey, do you know how to get this thing to work? I know it takes pictures, but I don’t remember how…” she asks as she starts to look the device over as if it were an ancient hieroglyphic.

Vincent laughs as he nods and offers to help her. Soon, he’s got the camera up and snaps a selfie with her. She thanks him profusely, suggesting that she’ll send it to daughter. Ha. More like you want a little bit of young eye-candy. Alyssa thinks to herself as she moves back behind her counter and sits on her chair. Gosh. Have to admire him for his kindness, though. He is so nice to those ladies. So patient and earnest, better than I would be that’s for sure. Alyssa smiles in approval and she begins to tap her fingers on the desk. Maybe he isn’t so bad after all.

As Vincent finishes up with the ladies, he makes his way to the door, but before he leaves, he turns around, with the door in hand and looks at Alyssa. “I’ll be back at the studio. I’ve got more work to do. I want to see you there; I’d like to actually talk sometime.” He says before slipping out.

“He’s such a nice young man!” An old lady exclaims while she is looking through the sundress section of the store. Alyssa chuckles to herself, yeah, seems so.

“Is there anything I can help any of you with? Do you need a dressing room?” Alyssa hesitates at the thought of opening up the dressing room for them. She reminds herself to double check the dressing room she made love in, because she doesn’t want there to be obvious signs of anything fishy in there. It makes her a little nervous.

“Actually if you wouldn’t mind. I would like to try this on.” The same lady states.

“Just one moment,” Alyssa says as she gets up. She walks the lady over to the dressing rooms, and she opens one of them up by pretending to unlock it. She silently reprimands herself for not actually locking them before opening the store. She opens the door for the lady and lets her walk in. “You can lock it from inside,” she advises and then she opens the second one up and double checks to make sure it is still in pristine condition. If there was a mess, Vincent was nice enough to clean it up. I should have been paying more attention and focusing less on my own pleasure. Heck, who am I kidding, he’s too good for that, she thinks to herself with an outward chuckle. Then she locks the second dressing room and walks back to her register.

While sitting at the counter Alyssa starts to daydream, thinking about how nice Vincent was to those ladies, how nice their sex was, and what it is that he might want to talk about. I’m happy that he finally apologized for not putting more of this thoughts into words, but I still don’t know what to think. Is he just dragging me along for sex again? Is he going to disappear after the band leaves town again? Go out and have sex with a shit ton of other women unti-

“Ahem.” An old lady with grey hair, a white bonnet hat, a blue crocheted cardigan and flowery, flowing pants says from the other side of the counter. It brings Alyssa back to reality.

“Oh, I’m so sorry.” Alyssa states as she starts to ring up the clothing the lady has picked out.

“It’s okay. I’d be daydreaming, too if I had a hunk like that in my store, especially if he wanted to see me later.” The old lady says with a wink and a laugh. She elbows the space next to her.

Alyssa laughs in response, “Yeah. Something like that… These are some really nice pieces that you picked out, I’m sure you’ll look wonderful in them,” she responds as she finishes ringing up the clothing. She gives the lady her total and tells her to have a wonderful evening as she leaves. The other two ladies are in line and give her the same spiel about how wonderful it is to have a man like that around, how lucky Alyssa is and how she should get a ring on her finger as soon as possible with a man like that. Alyssa responds politely, and as best as she can. She doesn’t try to engage in too much conversation because Alyssa knows if she does it won’t take but a second for one of the ladies to bring up a story about their past. Then the other one will want to talk, and Alyssa knows she’d be stuck in never ending torture.

Once they finally leave, Alyssa looks at the clock and then down at her counter. Where was I? Right, right, how I don’t think that he has any intention- or how I don’t know if he has any intention of turning this from just sex to anything more than sex… but maybe that’s what he wants to talk about… Maybe he wants to entertain the idea of a relationship with me. I’m amazing, he should want me… Maybe he wants to let me know it’s just sex. I wish I knew what the hell was on his mind. Alyssa complains to herself and then sighs as another person comes into the shop. She greets them with as much enthusiasm she can muster and she tries to drown out her thoughts by focusing on the computer screen.

She doesn’t want to think about the fact that he could just want her around for sex until he leaves. She doesn’t want to think about the pain it will cause her when he leaves again and starts sleeping with other women. When he left the first time, and they had agreed they would just have sex, she was secretly disappointed he didn’t ask her for something more, and even more disappointed that he continued to have sex with other women. She had hoped she’d ruin his taste for others. She sighs.

  CHAPTER TEN

After work, Alyssa makes her way to the studio, when she enters she can hear him playing, and she sees him behind the glass, playing into the microphone and doing a great job. She takes a seat in one of
the chairs and sets her purse down beside her. He has so much talent. He’s such an amazing guitar player, of course they gave him perfect guitar solos. If not they’d just be wasting his talent. And while she’s sitting there, she starts to daydream about him, but when Vincent notices her, he starts to get into his old fiery mood while he plays and it draws her attention back to him. His behavior has the studio recorders chatting and getting excited, they haven’t seen him play with enthusiasm like this and they say it’s just the entertainment they need to make it through the rest of their day. Alyssa smiles, she realizes that he’s just doing it for her.

When Vince is finally done he comes out, wiping the sweat from his brow, he chugs down a bottle of water and smiles. “You want to grab some dinner?” he asks, and Alyssa only nods. Vincent nods too, but disappears for a moment. When he comes back, he has a clean shirt on and smells amazing. He grabs another water as he leads the way to his motorcycle. He gets on and motions for her to hop on, too.

The parking lot is illuminated by streetlights and the bright shining of the full moon. As Vince starts up his bike and drives down the road, Alyssa watches the street lights pass in a blur. It’s a beautiful, cool night and she sits close, wrapping her arms around him. She enjoys the feeling of the wind rushing against her, and the rumbling of the motorcycle under her, but mumbles to herself about how her hair is going to be messed up. Vince begins to speeds through traffic passing cars and Alyssa holds onto him tighter.
