“Just having you here with me is damn good,” I grit out, wishing I could throw her down on the ground and tear those tight fucking jeans that drive a man to drink down her legs.

“Dallyce, can I see you please,” the chaperone woman is shouting at her from across the yard.

“Jeez-us, there's no rest for the wicked,” she says, with a knowing gaze before turning on her heel and walking away.

“There sure ain't,” I mutter, watching the finest ass I've ever seen wiggle across the yard.

  Chapter TWELVE

  Dallyce

I'm like a filly being put through its training routine as I sit with Modesty and Violet, listening to the instructions about our roles tomorrow for the thousandth time. Nissa started the session with a lecture on morals.

“You have a responsibility as figureheads for the community,” she intones, as pious as some evangelist TV preacher. “We don't want any scandal tainting the stampede.”

Well, boo hoo. She was giving me a particular glare throughout the spiel, which didn't bother me at all. I'm not a kid. Even Modesty is of age so we don't need the big talking to.

“There are also standards of dress we need to attain,” she adds, staring blatantly at my bare legs in the tiny shorts I’ve changed up for the jeans.

I get it. She eyed out Shea for herself and maybe planned to seduce him up to her room with that slinky nightgown I haven’t seen before this trip. I'm sure that's why she was waiting up for me to come back last night. It can't have been easy, observing us riding back in, together on the same horse, me side saddle with my legs across his heavy thigh, nestled into his arm and chest. Now she's taking out her sense of rejection on my ass.

At least he was no longer tweaking my nipple and fondling my breast. My shirt was re-buttoned up to my neck. But she can't have missed the smiles and the relaxed way we rode in after our nice talk during the journey. Shea had told me plenty about himself.

“You got me talking here, Angel,” he'd said. “I don't usually chit chat with a woman like this. I hope I ain't boring you.”

“Not at all. I want to know more about you.”

Everything. I want to know him inside and out, but first I need him inside so I can know him more closely than I've ever known a man.

I was telling him my ideas for a vacation stables and how I thought horses could help troubled kids, when we arrived back at the ranch way too soon.

I got into bed and pretended to fall straight to sleep to stop Modesty yakking. Soon as I came in she wanted to chatter about Rafe.

“Did you and that naked cocky cowboy get up to anything?” she asked. “I was almost jealous when he tossed you over his shoulder?”

“No,” I said bluntly. “Good night.”

I snuggled down, with delicious tingles going through me that Shea and I had spent the entire ride kissing and suckling lips between getting to know each other. But I was also bereft that I couldn’t spend the night in his bed where I belonged as his woman. I may as well be living in a freaking convent.

“I want to remind you of the need for appropriate behavior.” Nissa intones.

“Didn't we hear all that already?” I snap. Irritated that she dragged me away from Shea for a repetition of the harangue.

“Well aren't we snippy today?” Nissa snips back. “Sleep on the wrong side of the bed?”

“No, just in the wrong bed,” I snarl.

  Thanks for reminding me.

This is a ridiculous situation. I'm a grown woman and I'm forbidden from being with the man I want. And who wants me but is too polite to take me much as I can see him reeling himself in. The enormous swell in his pants won't be disguised.

  “Are we done here?”

“Please remember what I said about decorum.”

“Right. I'll keep my behavior suitably restrained. When the fans actually arrive. Right now, I think I'll go help with the preparations.”

She opens her mouth to object but can't come up with a single thing. I resist a smug smirk and turn on my heel to head back to the paddock where Shea is still building.

“You're back,” he burrs when I pull up beside him.

  “You noticed,” I say.

“Hard not to. Sexiest body in ten counties.”

  “What can I do?”

“Stand at my side and look hotter than the midday sun,” he replies.

As if to prove the point, he pushes his hat back on his head and wipes down his forehead with a bandana. I could almost lick the beads of sweat from his leathery tan skin, he's so stunning. And all male. He gets right back to hammering the wood into place. I lean against a post beside us and cross one leg in front of the other.

“There's nothing more fascinating that a real man at work in construction,” I purr.

“I reckon having a real man pinning you down as he slides in and out of your tight little pussy might be interesting.” he says with a cocky smirk.

“And even better if he spends the night with his huge workman's arms enveloping my fragile body.”

Shea emits a low feral sound and when he stands up he towers over me and around me. I notice the bulge in his pants is again thrusting at his jeans and I feel satisfied knowing if I can't have him here and now, the feeling of yearning is at least mutual and I can trust he'll make it happen somehow.

I spend the entire afternoon trailing him at his work. The sight of his back muscles rippling in his shirt, threatening to tear at the seams is more than enough to keep me amused. My little shorts are soaked through down to my thighs and I can barely keep my hands off him.

“What'll you do when this Princess gig is over?” he puts his tools down and looks up at me.

  “I'm not too sure.”

I'm almost loathe to admit that I left college after two years. I don't want him to think I'm a dropout or too dumb to live. Suddenly Shea Butler's opinion of me seems real important.

“You must have dreams and desires,” he says, with another filthy grin that makes me even wetter.

He sure knows how to get a girl hot and bothered. Even though he's interested in me as a person, he always makes sure to let me know he's definitely intrigued by the womanly side.

“I do, but I don't know how to make it happen. Honestly, I found college so boring after two years I left.”

“It's not for everyone,” he nods. “Some folks got something more physical they want to achieve.”

“That's exactly it. I want to be with people and stuff. I think I have a natural affinity for working as a sort of intermediary between kids and animals.”

  “Like a horse whisperer?”

“Kind of,” I say, thrilled to see that gets Shea's seal of approval, as he chews down on his provocative lips and slowly nods his head like he's thinking all the thoughts under the sun.

It's so ridiculous to be standing here with impossible fantasies of being with Shea beyond the end of the weekend. There's no way it could ever be a reality but if I was honest with him about my dreams and desires, then I'd have to admit that whatever I do with my life, I want him in it.

I have to stop thinking like that and get back to fantasizing about his astounding long wide dick. Because the girlish dreams only mark me out as a kid with one gigantic crush. And what I intend to be for Shea is a woman he can adore.

  Chapter THIRTEEN

  Shea

I'm wired to distraction with Dallyce standing beside me while I work.

“Nice outfit,” I say. “What there is of it.”

From my position kneeling on the ground I trawl up the length of her bare thighs to the crease where the tiny denim shorts barely cover the sweet vee I sucked into my mouth last night.

“Thanks, those jeans are so tight I have to fight to get them off,” she says with a dirty little smirk.

Fuck the woman is brazen and I love it. Mixed with a tinge of innocence and her apparently genuine interest in me, it's a breathtaking package. One I intend to keep my hands on. Before I can stop myself I lean in and kis
s the very top of her inner thigh, right where the fabric ends. The faint aroma of her pussy is intoxicating. My dick thrusts hard enough to hammer the entire rail and I can't resist stealing a second nip to the soft swell of flesh on the other side.

Dallyce gives a little moan of need that satisfies me. For now.

  “Soon, Angel.”

When she gets called away to attend to one of her duties as the rodeo princess, I let out a whistle between my teeth, relieving the tension in my balls. But she's not so easily erased and I take to hammering nails hard enough to shatter the damn struts into pieces. I dunno but it seems every time Dallyce is hanging out, shooting the breeze with me while I work, the chaperone, Nissa, calls her away on some pretext.

I miss having her at my side, asking me all kinds of questions about my life and work, but no matter. We got plenty of time to be together once this rodeo event's over. It's insane to think I haven't even been inside the woman and I'm already planning a future. It's just the gob-smacking effect Dallyce has on me.

  “You weren't at lunch.”

She pops up in the afternoon, on the other side of the fence I'm finishing up constructing to pen the bull.

“I had my appetizer,” I say with a grin as I lift myself up to stand, towering over her. “I'm waiting for the main course.”

Without even checking around to see who could be observing us, I tip my head down and plant a kiss directly on her soft lips.

“I brought you a sandwich. You're doing heavy work and I want to make sure you've got enough strength to keep going.”

“I'll keep going, don't you worry,” I growl at her, making her laugh.

It feels good to see her happy and I want her to stay that way. I don't tell her the boys grabbed bowls of chilli on the job. I eat her giant sandwich, so huge that when I offer her a bite, she can't open her mouth wide enough.

I give her a dirty grin and she says, “Don't worry.”

“Shea, you got any nails to spare?” Lakin hollers from where he's constructing a bull pen.

“Yeah, about three,” I shout back.

  “Well damn, we're all out.”

“I'll run into town and pick some up.”

“Can I come?” Dallyce asks, so sweetly I regret having to tell her no.

“Folks wouldn't care for us being together. Just be patient,” I add when her lips purse up.

I touch her cheek with a rough finger. “Man, your skin feels like pure silk sateen. I can't wait to get my hands on all of it. Sorry, I'm kinda rough.”

I withdraw my finger and she reaches out to grab my hand, holding it low against her body between us in both her small hands where no one can see.

“I like it rough,” she whispers. “Don't get the idea I'm a fragile little Princess.”

  “You are to me.”

“Shea, this horse rail ain't gonna stand up by itself. You can chit chat to the lady after we're done.”

“I'll drive to the hardware store, it'll be quicker than saddling up.”

I give Dallyce a wink and head to my house for the keys to the truck.

Once I'm on the road, I tip my hat back and hum a tune. You'd think I was relaxed the way I'm sprawled back in the seat, but all my veins are throbbing with lust for that young woman and it's building a torment in my groin.

“Is it safe to come out now?” A kitteny voice inquires from the jump seat behind where one of the horse blankets has been tossed.

My face stretches into such a wide smile my jaw cracks.

  “Yeah, it's safe,” I say.

The woven blanket rises up and then Dallyce throws it to one side. She emerges with her hair all tousled, looking adorable. Like she's just been fucked good and hard. I can hardly believe a girl like her has it bad for a rough old cowboy like me. She puts her hand on my shoulder as she throws her leg open to clamber over the seat back.

The little vixen makes sure to give me a fantastic eyeful of her innermost thighs and the swell of her bare ass cheek in the tiny shorts. She settles onto the bench beside me, close enough to touch.

“You can change your outfit as soon as we get back,” I tell her in a voice that says I mean it.

“Don't you like it? I only wore it for you.”

“You look amazing. Which is why you're changing. Once the crowds arrive, I don't want every ranch hand in the county eyefucking that body. It's all mine now.”

She gives me the hint of a pout and I laugh, taking her hand and keeping it in mine until we get to town.

We go into Jimmy's Hardware and I grab the nails and a few other supplies we're running low on.

“You wanna grab a soda?” I ask and she nods her pretty head eagerly.

  “Do we have time?”

“I'll work harder when we get back if it means I can have you to myself for a few minutes.”

I dump the hardware in the truck then take her hand to lead her across the street to Shelley's.

“Howdy, Shea,” Rose, the waitress says with a little wiggle as she walks away.

Dallyce looks up at me, searching my face for clues.

  “Don't worry,” I tell her.

“I guess you must know a lot of women in town,” she says as we slide into the booths.

“Maybe they want to know me but I'm a loner. If I’m gonna be with a woman, she'll have to be a special kind of girl.”

“What makes a woman special for you, Shea?” Dallyce murmurs, like it's the most important question she ever asked.

“Can't rightly put my finger on it, although whenever I touch you that comes fucking close to heaven.”

Rose drops the milkshake and root beer I ordered and stomps away. I reach across and take both of Dallyce's little hands under mine.

“And whenever I'm with you, just hanging out like this, or riding Cinders together, it seems like the most natural thing in the world. All the tension of the day falls away and I'm just glad to have you by me. I can't imagine you not being there always. And that's about the longest conversation I've ever had so I'll shut up now before I make a fool out of myself.”

  Chapter FOURTEEN

  Dallyce

Riding in the pick up and getting a shake at Shelley's Diner are the most natural things in the world when I do them with Shea. There could never be a man more perfect in my estimation. He's as gorgeous as sin and tough as the nails we just purchased.

When we leave and I glance back through the window at Rose and my eyes light on a 'Help Wanted' sign. It's really faded and I don’t know whether that's from the sun or because it's old. But I get a crazy idea to get a job here in town and stick around to be with Shea. It's about time I left home and started a life and I know that Shea would take care of me even if things didn't work out between us.

“You okay, Angel?” he asks once he's turned the truck around and can take my hand in his, the other on the wheel. “'Cos you look like you got a lot on your mind. I'm a good listener.”

He gives my hand a squeeze and I know I can tell my tough cowboy anything. Except I should maybe wait until the end of the weekend just to be sure.

“I'm great,” I say. “So happy when I'm with you.”

“Ditto,” he says, giving me another squeeze.

When we turn off the road onto the long sand drive leading to the ranch house, I figure I should hop back under the blanket out of sight.

“You stay right where you are,” Shea tells me in his masculine tone. “No girl of mine has to skulk around and hide.”

  “But Nissa -”

“Anyone's got something to say, they can take it up with me,” he insists.

“I already got into trouble with her,” I say. “She thinks I'm too lippy.”

“You tell her it's one of the things I love about you.”

I can't reply to that because I'm quivering though every nerve ending. Did he just say he loves me in a round about kind of way?

Sure enough Nissa's on the warpath as soon as we pull into the yard and I open the door to leap down from the truck.
>
“Where have you been?” she demands.

“Out,” I tell her with a knife edge to my tone, suddenly having enough of being spoken to like a kid.

She goes on for a while before finishing up with a dismissive, “You need to get ready for the opening tonight.”

“I'm a fake princess, not a real one,” I snarl. “There's no need to take this quite so seriously.”

I stride toward the ranch house, feeling strong because Shea stood on his side of the truck throughout the conversation. He let me handle myself but made sure to be close by me, ready to defend me should I need it. It's the most amazing feeling and one I've never known until now.

I can't imagine feeling the same way with a guy my own age. Shea's so confident and manly in his years and I've never seen a hotter freaking cowboy, which is saying something seeing as I must have met every one in existence in recent weeks.

Getting dressed up and putting the tiara in my hair seems silly now. I'm almost embarrassed by what Shea's going to say when he sees me putting on princessy airs for a crowd.

“Where were you?” Modesty whispers when she zips me up. “Nissa was almost spewing.”

“I rode into town with Shea.”

“The guy that spanked your bottom?” she squeaks, her eyes wide and more than a little impressed.

  “You saw that?”

“I did but I didn't say anything. Not even to Rafe. It must have been so exciting.”

I smile the biggest grin at the memory.

  “Yeah, it was.”

“The cowboys on this ranch are the hottest on the planet,” she says.

“You've changed your tune in just a few days.”

“I had to grow out of my childish terrors sometime, right?”

Nissa's bustling about at the door, calling for us, so I give Modesty a hug for good luck and because I'm pleased to see her growing up and finding herself. This tour has been good for something after all. Aside from the best benefit of meeting my cocky cowboy.

We go downstairs and I almost buckle at the knees when I see Shea all scrubbed and clean shaven, dressed up and wearing a pair of slightly less ravaged chaps and a fresh dark hat. All the cowboys on the ranch are in a line, waiting at the bottom of the stairs when the three of us step out. They lift their hats in unison and I smile, directing the warmth all at Shea when my eyes slide along the row to meet his.
