Say NO to the bullying.
Anytime. Anywhere. Anyhow.
If you’re the one being bullied. Or if you see somebody else being bullied. Stand up for yourself. Stand up for OTHERS. Because nothing about bulling is right. Nothing. And we shouldn’t support it by standing on the sidelines and doing nothing. If you don’t think you can handle it on your own, find somebody who can help you. A friend. A teacher or a parent. Tell somebody and make a difference.
I could have probably gone to the extreme, writing about a person that’s been bullied falling in love with the bully, but I didn’t want to. No, I didn’t want to do that simply because I don’t think you can do so after all the physical and emotional harassment and humiliation. If somebody insults you, harasses you and makes you feel bad about yourself, there is no place for love. I, personally, do not want to support that and give you an illusion of what love is and how it’s supposed to look and feel. Yes, I’m writing fiction, but at the same time, I’m trying to portrait the reality as best as I can.
Going back to the lighter subjects… I’m so happy that I finally created a dog character—not one, but two! If you know me, you know I’m a big dog lover and have a five-years-old shi tsu mix puppy named Tina. She’s incredible and really brightens my day. I don’t believe there is anybody in this world who can give you the kind of unconditional love a pet can give you. She was a big inspiration for the character of Lola and I hope you liked her just as much as I do!
I want to give a big shout-out to my kickass betas—Nina, Andrea, Stephanie, and Marija. Thank you for helping me make this story the best possible and for sticking by me all this time. You’re the best!
