For the next two days Hugo combed through the database in his head, starting to compile his list of threats. He was wrestling with whether or not he should go as far as putting himself, CJ and Dr. McFadden on the list of threats to Mr. Gideon, but not the company. He wanted to be that honest with Mr. Hansen, he just wasn’t sure he could be.

Mr. Hansen was back in the office, but couldn’t remember the conversation that had led up to the collapse, and Hugo didn’t want to try again. He’d talk to Mr. Hansen’s brother first; it seemed too dangerous to try and break the conditioning himself. But if he went to see Hermes, and Hermes didn’t want to be found, would he alter his thoughts too? Hugo didn’t like that idea, he didn’t want to forget, so he needed a plan. He decided on a letter in a sealed envelope with his signature on the back. He’d leave CJ behind to watch the letter and if he didn’t come back CJ would call him to tell him to return and read the letter and it would help him remember. During the two days, the time that wasn’t absorbed by the database, was dedicated to coming up with a concise letter. He thought he had it, but he’d have to wait to complete it until he had William’s address:

Recently you went to go see Hermes (William Hansen).

He has the ability to alter thought processes, and we may need to fix that now.

You know for a fact that he got his brother (Mr. Hansen) to shoot Diane (ref file 3) but make himself think he was shooting his brother instead. Beyond that I don't know enough about Hermes' motives to make any other definite statements. But currently he is . Alive.

If any of this information seems preposterous or unimportant, we have a problem. Go find Dr. Crysta McFadden and come up with a reason to hang around her in the medical facility for approx 3 hours and then read the back of this piece of paper.
