Let simmer until it starts to bubble. Makes one and one half gallons. I store it in the refrigerator and take out a mug as I want it. It will last a surprisingly long time on refrigeration.
It can be drunk as is or sweeten to taste. I do use Splenda most of the time.
Old Fashioned No Bake Fudge-Oatmeal Cookies
2 cups white sugar
1 cup sweet milk
½ cup butter or margarine
6 full tablespoons cocoa
6 cups dry oatmeal
1 cup peanut butter (I use crunchy)
Cook over low heat stirring often until the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and stir in 2 teaspoons of vanilla.
Drop on wax paper -- amount determines size of each piece preferred. Allow to cool and enjoy.
Molasses Taffy
2 cups molasses
1 cup white sugar
¾ cup water
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
4 tablespoon butter or margarine
½ teaspoon vanilla.
Cook the molasses, sugar and water slowly to a hard-ball stage, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and mix in all of the other ingredients. Pour into a greased pan until almost cool. Coat both your hands with butter or margarine. (Takes 2 people) Pull the mixture between the partners and fold it over. Stretch into a long rope and cut into small pieces. Yummy. Enjoy!
Author’s Note
Dear Readers,
Thank you for choosing my book. You may wonder why I did not describe Jason’s wedding as thoroughly as I did others. Jason IS the protagonist (main character) of the story, but the book is primarily about The Perfect Spouse and their plans for other people. Too, Jason didn’t want a lot of fan-fare because he had a wonderful marriage previously, but he wanted Siobhan to have a memorable wedding day. Why was so much attention given to him? That’s called writer’s license.
Is there such a thing as a perfect spouse? You tell me. Joseph truly dearly loved his wife of forty years. Elaine meant the world to him. He did not commit a crime maliciously, but the decision he made would inevitably hurt the woman he professed to love. Elaine wanted to name their business The Perfect Spouse because she felt that described Joseph. Did it?
Enjoy this book and be prepared for the next book which I’ve completed. It’s called Dangerous Hilarity, but it’s geared toward older teens and young adults. I’m working on two adult novels. I’m also doing something new to me. I’ve started a book on Western / Native American called Montana Madness.
Blessings on one and all,
Sioux Dallas
