I needed help. After writing and writing, the plot wasn’t coming together how I wanted it to, how I knew it could. So, I talked to my hubby about hiring a content editor. He’s amazing (always) and very supportive. In short, he said to go for it. I think he knew I needed it. I was falling apart in more ways than one.
Angela Marshall Smith, who is named for the angels, helped me with the plot of Keeper of Crows. She’s an amazing content editor and brought a level of depth to the book that I couldn’t unearth myself. For that, I’m forever grateful. I’m also grateful to have found a friend.
Regina Wamba designed the cover of Keeper of Crows as a pre-made and posted it in her group. For weeks, I stared at it. I visited her site just to look at it and finally decided to message her to see if it was still available. It was and I considered that a sign. As ever, she was wonderful to work with.
Stacy Sanford is an amazing editor to work with. She tirelessly devotes her time to perfecting a project and I’m blessed to have found her. I’m so glad we clicked.
Marisa Shor and Allyson Gottlieb formatted the paperback version of the book and it’s stunning. I created the e-book version just so that I could update the content whenever I need to. It’s not as pretty, but it works.
The map in the front of the book was drawn by Sydney Provencher. She took a scrawled, sad drawing from an author who is in no way an artist, and brought Purgatory to life. I can’t thank her enough for the long hours she spent perfecting the details on this beautiful map. It’s truly a work of art.
I need to thank my betas: Ashley Cestra, Cristie Alleman, Rachael Geraci and Kelly Martin. They were willing to give me honest and valuable feedback and I can’t thank them enough.
My mom always reads my books and I love her so much. She and Dad are two of my biggest supporters. The others are my husband and children. I couldn’t do this without their love, patience and understanding that Mommy cannot hear you when she’s writing unless you get her attention first. LOL!
And, most of all, I thank God for his blessings in my life. I’d be nothing without Him.
