“Welcome officially to the family honey, but you’ve been a member since the day we met you.“
She handed Emily a box and Emily gasped when she saw a beautiful antique pearl bracelet. She said: “This is so beautiful.” Sarah said: “This is your something old to keep. It was my grandmother who passed it on to my mother then she passed it on to me and now I want you to have it. I hope it brings you as much happiness as it has brought my Sean and I.”
Emily hugged Sarah and said: “Thank you.”
Finally it was time for the ceremony to begin and for her to marry the man of her dreams. As soon as she saw Ethan, looking as handsome as she’s ever seen him in a dark blue suit, her butterflies went away. Ethans breath was taken away by the sight of her in her white spaghetti strap gown. He had never seen her look so beautiful.
Her best friend Renata was her maid of honour and his brothers Patrick and Ryan shared best man duties.
As they lit the Unity candle they had never felt so much love for one another as well as when they recited their own vows.
Emily declared: “Ethan O’Leary. I love you more than I have ever loved anyone. You made me believe in love and happiness again after I gave up hope of ever feeling those things again. I love you so much.”
Ethan smiled and squeezed her hand as he said: “I love you so much too Em. I was always afraid of loving someone so much and being this happy because I thought something would happen to ruin it, but you made me see those things were possible. You are the woman of my dreams and my one true love. I loved you since the moment I laid eyes on you.”
When they had exchanged their golden wedding bands and were pronounced husband and wife, Ethan laid a deep hungry kiss on his bride which she returned to the applause of their guests. After they took wedding photos around his childhood home where the wedding took place, the reception began.
They smiled as the emcee said: “Ladies and Gentlemen it is my honour to announce for you for the first time: Mr. and Mrs. Ethan O’Leary.”
As they danced to their first married dance Ethan held his wife close and sang to her into her ear. After the song they kissed, much to the delight of their guests. He made her giggle when he whispered into her ear: “I can’t wait until later to peel this sexy wedding dress of yours off you.” She sighed: “And I can’t wait to tear that suit of yours off.”
Throughout the reception they danced with one another and their new in-laws. A few times they sneaked off to the barn to make out. After their final dance, Ethan whispered to his wife: “Let’s blow this joint and have our own party.” She giggled:
“Husband that is a great idea. I’ve been waiting to hear that all day.”
As they left to begin their new life together they were pelted with birdseed. They couldn’t wait to begin their life together and they have known: as long as they are together, they could get through anything.
