Daemons Are Forever Page 5

He looked very serious for a moment.

“We can stop time. Mind you, we aren’t supposed to unless it is a dire emergency but we have that ability. So do demons. They can do all we can. We are strong, and we heal easily.”

With that, he winked at me and gave a very sexy leer. “Lots of other things that I think you should explore or wait to find out.”

“So what happens now? I mean you said you have to do ‘jobs,’ when do they happen?”

“Whenever the Gods decide, basically. I should be able to spend most of my time with you now that we are together.” He laughed. “They’ll probably only want me for minor things from now on that will only take a short time, although I’ll probably have to report in each week or so.”

“Do you spend a lot of time mixing with us mere mortals?”

“Sometimes I spend a lifetime with one, other times I may have to only be here for a short while.”

“So you are invisible then as well.”

“Not always. With you, it is because you have to come to terms with a Daemon and then fall in love with me. With other mortals, sometimes I am just a voice nudging them in the right direction. Other times I may be a business partner that helps them along the way.”

“So you have a body that everyone can see?”

  “Yes.”

“What do you mean by nudging them in the right direction?”

“Well, perhaps it is time for something to be discovered, a scientific breakthrough or some such. The person working on it knows the answer but just can’t seem to bring it forward in their mind. I nudge them along.”

  “And the business thing?”

“Similar reason, for example they may be someone who is destined to do something that will help humanity. By boosting their business, they have the funds to do their humanitarian work.”

“If you live in the real world at times, how on earth do you pay for it all? I mean, where do you live, or do you just “pop” in and out?”

Dorian thought that was really funny, judging by his laughter. When he stopped, he replied, “Actually I have money and homes.”

  “Homes? As in homes plural?”

  “Yes, several.”

“What do you do, rob banks for money?”

  More laughter from him.

“You forget I’ve had over three thousand years to accumulate wealth. The Gods tell us that there are times when we will need money, homes, assets. So Daemons generally start investing as soon as we can. Even coins from my mortal life are worth a lot of money. I have some stashed. Then in recent times, when people could buy and own land and keep it over generations, I started purchasing lots of acres here and there. I bought some houses, invested. A lot of us enjoy living on Earth, so we buy land, build homes, the type of things that humans do.”

“So I should’ve made you pay for the pizza.”

I had to giggle when he doubled up roaring with laughter. He spluttered, “I’ll buy the next one.”

I decided to leave the money thing alone. I had this nagging feeling that perhaps he was worth a lot more than a couple of pizzas and I just didn’t want to know.

“Well, what do you want to do? I mean, we can’t very well go out. It was bad enough this morning. I kept forgetting no one else could see you. I have to work on the wall hanging but I have it all drafted out and the pattern is drawn up, so I can afford a rest day. Is there anywhere you’d like to be?”

I know, I know, it was a stupid thing to ask. I wasn’t thinking straight, okay?

Dorian just looked at me. If looks could burn a hole through you, I was sizzling.

He got up from the couch and stepped to stand over me. I swallowed and got rather flustered. He held out his hand. The look in his eyes, oh wow! I knew exactly what he had in mind. My stupid brain was shouting at my body, but for once, I was ignoring it.

I put my hand in his. He pulled me to my feet.

“There is no place I would rather be than with you, and at the moment that is also in you.”

  Chapter Seven

I know my mouth was opened, I know my pulse was racing. I just stood there looking at him. He stepped closer to me and picked me up, and my arms just automatically went around his neck. He carried me into the bedroom and set me down on the bed, then climbed on alongside me.

His mouth covered mine and I closed my eyes, just letting the wonderful feeling roll over me as his lips pressed against mine.

I have no idea how long we kissed, we seemed to just explore each other’s lips, our mouths, our tongues, until we were both out of breath. We broke apart. Dorian looked down at me, his vivid blue eyes filled with hunger, and I am sure mine looked the same.

Slowly he undid the buttons on my blouse, pulling it aside, then pressing his lips to each breast. I arched toward him and he slipped his hands behind me to undo the fastenings on my brassiere. He lifted my breasts free, sliding off my blouse, then the bra.

I heard him groan as he looked before lowering his head to suckle, one hand playing with my nipple. I held his head with one hand while the other ran up and down his back. I needed to feel flesh on flesh, so I started pulling at his shirt. Dorian broke off his attention on my boobs to pull his shirt over his head. While he was doing that, I unzipped his pants, so he shimmied out of them as well.

Now I had him naked. I wanted to taste that Daemon cock of his.

I went to wriggle down the bed but he grabbed me around the waist.

“Where are you off too?” he asked huskily.

“I need to taste.” I tried to get out of his arms but he stopped me. I felt him undo my jeans and pull them down. He rubbed his fingers across my pussy.

  “Mmm…so wet already.”

By now, I had almost given up hope of achieving my goal when he hands relaxed a little and I was able to crawl further down the bed, my prize in sight.

I settle alongside and admired the view.

Tall, thick, and delicious looking. I reached out and wrapped one hand around the base, running my hand up and down. I glance up and saw a very happy smile beaming down at me.

Leaning forward, I licked across the top, tasting the little bead that had escaped. Settling myself more comfortably, I licked my way down the shaft, then across his balls before going back up again. I felt his hands in my hair.

Lowering my head, I opened my mouth and slowly sank onto his cock. I used my tongue to lick across and around as I sucked. Lowering and raising my head, I began to suck, lick, and taste his dick. Using my hand to hold the base I applied a little pressure, my other hand fondling his balls.

“Oh god Ellie, that feels so good!” He moaned.

When I settled into a rhythm, I began to hum in the back of my throat. I got the impression Dorian enjoyed that, mainly from his sudden gasp and groaning, and from the fact his muscles tensed up. I risked a glance at his face. His eyes were closed, his teeth biting his bottom lip, his nostrils were flared, and he was panting. I increased my speed and darted my tongue in and out that delicious hole at the top.

Suddenly he grabbed me and pulled me away.

“I want to come inside you, not in your mouth,” he rasped.

I pouted, I really wanted to taste him, but he threw me onto my back and was between my legs before I had a chance to resist. Holding my arms above my head, he thrust his cock into me and pounded me hard.

It was wonderful. It was raw and savage and I loved it!

I could feel him tightening his grip on my hands, feel his muscles tense, and knew he was about to come. That excited me even more and I knew we would come together.

He roared my name, jerked his hips harder, then thrust deep, holding his cock within me. My orgasm grabbed it, held it fast while it rippled across my pussy. Dorian slumped down across me, releasing my arms, and I wrapped them around him as we slowly came back to earth.

Gradually, our breathing returned to normal. Dorian rolled off me and pulled me into his embrace. He grabbed the covers and pulled them over us.

&
nbsp; “My beautiful Ellie, I love you so much.”

I felt like curling up and purring, I was so satisfied. I snuggled closer, putting my head on his chest. Lying there, wrapped in his love, I realised he was getting to me. My last conscious thought before I fell asleep was that the way things were heading he would be visible to everyone very soon.

When I woke it was dark. I glanced at the clock and saw it was almost midnight. We had slept through. I looked over at Dorian. He was still asleep, so I went to the bathroom, then climbed back into bed to snuggle down with him.

  Chapter Eight

The next morning, after we had eaten breakfast, Dorian looked over at me.

“I just got summons, have to report to the Gods, but I won’t be long.”

I snickered. “It sounds so weird.”

  Dorian just grinned.

“I’ll make a start on the wall hanging while you are missing.”

He wrapped his arms around me, nuzzling my neck. “I’ll miss you.”

We kissed, and boy, he could really kiss.

“Behave while I am missing. Don’t be scared when I go.”

I stuck my tongue out, why on earth would I be scared? Then there was a loud “pop” and he just disappeared.

“Oh wow!” I marvelled in surprise.

Mmm, obviously that was what he meant when he told me about dematerialising and not to be scared. Neat trick, I had to admit.

I figured I would unload the dishwasher, then go play with my beautiful new fabrics. I was almost finished, just my big carving knife to go, when I heard a “pop” and I figured it was Dorian. I was bent over the dishwasher and I stood, knife in hand. I turned. Big smile on my face to say hello to my man.

I have no idea who screamed the loudest, me or it!

Actually, mine was a scream, it was a cross between a cat being strangled and water going down the drain.

In front of me, not even half a metre away, was a green thing that stood about three quarters of a metre tall.

  Okay, it wasn’t a thing—it was a fucking demon!

At the same time as we both screamed, we both panicked. It lashed out and slashed my arm with a claw as I lashed out with the knife and slashed it.

  “Fuck! Fuck!”

  “Gurgle, screech, gurgle!”

I looked down at my arm, then at it. It was doing the same thing. I think it was mirroring the same surprised look on its face as I had on mine. It was as if it hadn’t expected me and it certainly hadn’t expected to be attacked.

It gave me another startled look, then with another loud “pop,” it disappeared.

Oh shit! I think I was in deep do-do. I took a look down at my arm. There was a deep cut that ran from my elbow to my wrist with blood pouring out rather quickly. I would need more than a band-aid on this.

The blood was pooling on the floor. My arm was stinging. Hell no, it was burning. I was starting to feel sort of funny. I dropped the knife. On the floor, where the demon had stood, was a pool of black greeny stuff, I guess it was its blood, I moved a step away from it.

Things were starting to get a little hazy, spinning just a little. I had a sudden thought that I was in more than serious trouble. I even had a sneaky suspicion that demon scratches were not good to get by mere mortals.

I do know they bloody hurt!

I leant against the counter but my legs were feeling really weak and I slid down to the floor, my legs spread out in front of me.

  So much blood!

  So much pain!

I was really starting to panic. I definitely should not have been feeling like this just from the cut. Yes, it was deep, but I shouldn’t have been feeling like my whole body was on fire. There was definitely something bad happening.

I was really pissed because I was just starting to like having a cute Daemon around. I hoped he was going to be angry when he found me dead on the floor.

Weakly I called out, “Dorian, please. I need…”

My head was falling forward, I didn’t have any strength left to even finish what I wanted to say. Things were getting really blurry and dark. I heard another “pop.”

  Fuck!

Stupid demon was going to finish me off. I tried to pick up the knife but only succeeded in falling to the side. I felt a hand grab me on the shoulder. I tried to fight it off but at that stage, a dying goldfish could have taken me on and won easily.

  “Ellie!”

  Yep, that was me.

  “Ellie! Look at me!”

Nah, want to look at the floor tiles, much prettier than demons. The hand holding me was shaking me.

“Go way,” I slurred before I let the darkness take me.

  Chapter Nine

I must have either passed out again or else someone hit me on the head, because when I finally woke, the pain was gone. I remember at one point trying to tell whoever had hold of me that I was going to rip their guts out. I had never felt so much agony. I figured the only good thing was that if I could have felt this much pain then I must be still alive.

I know things were a little hazy for me but I do remember lots of golden lights—oh, and lots and lots and lots of pain.

I know I swore—a lot. Some very unladylike things came out of my mouth.

I have the distinct memory of grabbing someone around their throat when they got close and telling them that I intended to use them as a wall hanging if the pain did not go away.

But now the pain was definitely gone. I opened my eyes slowly.

I was in my own bed, everything looked normal. I could hear the murmur of voices. I moved my arm experimentally. No pain. That was a relief.

I pulled back the covers and looked. My arm was covered in some sort of bandage. I gave a very hesitant tiny movement with my fingers. They worked. Still no pain. Feeling very brave, I bent my arm. There was a tiny twinge but nothing, really.

I gave a big sigh of relief, then I wondered about the voices I could hear and also the people I vaguely recalled.

  I sat up.

Dorian walked in the room. He had a big smile on his face.

  “How’s the patient?”

“Better. What happened? I mean, I know what happened, but what happened?”

Dorian just looked at me, puzzled, and laughed. Okay, maybe the question was not clear to a mere immortal, but it made perfect sense to me.

“You were attacked by a demon.”

“Yes, I know that happened, but I’m asking ‘what happened’?”

“I heard you call me, I knew immediately something was wrong.” He inclined his head toward the doorway. “So Maleos came with me.”

I notice another Greek Adonis leaning against the doorframe behind Dorian. He was about the same height as Dorian and with the same long dark hair, but his eyes were a golden brown. Like Dorian, he was gorgeous.

  “Maleos?”

He nodded and grinned at me. “Hi, you have certainly made an interesting impression on some of us.”

Uh-oh, that didn’t sound good. I looked back at Dorian, he was trying to smother a laugh.

“Okay, spill it all. What happened?”

“When we arrived, you were succumbing to the poison in the wound from the demon. We…er…we took you…” He looked at Maleos then back at me.

“Out with it, where did you take me.”

“Bit hard to explain. It is where the Gods and Daemons hang out. Mount Olympus, I guess, is the easiest way of explaining.”

  “Okay.”

“Anyway, Gaia happened to be there, she is Mother Earth, who gave birth to the Earth, the Universe and all the Gods. I sort of almost bumped into her with you in my arms.”

At this point, my mouth dropped open.

Dorian ignored me and continued, “As I said, she was there and after I paid my respects to her, she couldn’t help but notice you. Fortunately, she was not angry that I’d brought you there. Instead, she ordered you healed, then left.”

“Bia, she’s the Daemon of bodily strength, said you would survive because
you were a strong woman. Eleos and Philotes worked on your arm, they are spirit Daemons also, and Pothos wandered in and for some reason you grabbed him around the neck.”

I blushed at this, and I remembered what I said when I did it.

  “Pothos?”

“Pothos is one of the Erotes. Anyway, at first he thought you were attracted to him, but when you started talking about removing his intestines and turning him into a wall hanging, he realised you weren’t.”

Oh my heavens, I had assaulted some sort of Greek god thingy or whatever Erotes were. I bet they healed me just so they could kill me painfully and slowly. Mind you, I was completely confused at all the name-dropping Dorian was doing, he had lost me at Gaia.

“I am so sorry.” My voice was quivering.

“Actually, he enjoyed it. He also loved the flowery language you were using.”

Maleos piped up, “He loves a woman who can swear.”

This was going from bad to worse! I was feeling so ashamed.

“Please don’t tell me he is a god.”

The two of them laughed and Dorian teased, “The Erotes are all gods. Gods of Love and Sex.”

I held my head and groaned.

“Anyway, the outcome is that you were healed.”

“I feel terrible. I’m so sorry. I hope you weren’t in trouble for taking me there.”

“No, it’s all good. Once we knew you’d be fine, we brought you back here. As it was, it took some work to remove the poison. That’s why it was so painful. You had lost a lot of blood, as well as having been poisoned by the demon.”

“So did you have to give me blood or something?”

“We couldn’t give you our blood. It is ichor and toxic to mortals. If any of the demon’s ichor had touched you, we wouldn’t have been able to save you.”

Oh wow! Thank goodness I had not touch the bloody stuff.
