“I didn’t know she was writing it, I swear”

“It doesn’t matter anymore. It’s all over and done with. The film’s finished. There’s no turning back.”

“Have you made up with Alisa?”

“Not yet no, but I’m going to try.”

Leah caught her bottom lip with her teeth. “She was only trying to protect you and Naomi, you know.”

Hannah let out a long sigh. “I realise that now, anyway I’m going to see her.”

Leah reached out to her, resting her hand on her arm. “Good luck. And I really mean that, you deserve to be happy.”

Hannah’s expression was grim as she looked at her. “So do you, Leah, don’t sell yourself short next time.”

“I don’t think there’s going to be a next time,” she said with a faint smile.

Hannah’s voice softened. “That’s what I thought but life moves on, it has to. Take care, Leah and I mean that,” she said patting her hand before turning and walking away.

“Thank you,” Leah said to her retreating back as the tears she had been holding in for the past two years finally escaped from her eyes.

It wasn’t as bad as she thought seeing Leah again. Though her betrayal still hurt, she realised there was no point in holding on to the anger. Naomi was the one responsible for the situation they all found themselves in. She could either sit around feeling bitter or she could move on with her life and find happiness. She had chosen the latter.

Her stomach was in knots as she walked up the gangway to Alisa’s boat. Was she too late? Had she already gone to L.A.? Would she be willing to give her another chance after she had knocked her back at every advance she took towards her? She stood outside the cabin door with her ear pressed against it listening for any signs of life. Hearing the faint sound of the TV she sucked in a deep breath and knocked briskly on the door.

Moments later as the door creaked open, Hannah struggled to keep her emotions in check as she spoke. “I noticed you’re selling your boat.”

Alisa opened the door wider, a puzzled look covering her features. “Yep, why, you interested?”

“Might be—the purchase would have to come with a few conditions,” Hannah replied. Just the sight of Alisa made her senses spin.

A look of veiled amusement crossed Alisa’s face. “Oh, yeah, and what are those?”

With a provocative glint in her eyes she said. “The most important one is that the owner comes with the boat.” Hannah closed the gap between them and embraced Alisa, drawing her forward into a deep kiss that was filled with passion and need. At that moment, she knew she loved her and couldn’t bear to live another day without her. She had already lost one love in her lifetime and she had no intention of losing another. In two years, her world had changed so much and she had been through a full range of emotions. Her grief now abated, she finally felt it was time to move on.

Leaning backwards briefly, Alisa looked quizzically at her. “And the other conditions?”

A hot, slow smile played on Hannah’s lips. “The owner offers a try before you buy incentive and I can take advantage of that offer right away.”

Alisa’s voice was hoarse with desire. “You fight hard for a bargain, Ms Richards, but I think your conditions can be met.”

She traced the outline of Alisa’s lips lightly with the tip of her finger. “That’s good, congratulations, you’ve just sold yourself a boat, Ms Forbes.”

Alisa’s expression was lustful and hungry. “Yes, it seems I have,” she said as she pressed her body tightly against Hannah’s. “I hope you’ll find your purchase lasts for many years and brings you great happiness.”

Hannah shuddered from excitement as she saw a fierce desire locked in Alisa’s eyes. “I’m no psychic but I think it will,” Hannah said, gently pushing Alisa backwards into the room and slamming the door shut behind them.
