“Damn man, wasn’t that your brother’s ol’ lady?” Russell nodded his head indicating that yes it was. “Man, she is fine as hell.” He said thinking about passing her as she glided by his truck like a juicy super model with thick thighs, a round fat ass, and cute face.

“Yeah man she is one bad ass.” Russell commented wanting to now talk about their bizarre night. “Aye man, you wouldn’t believe what happened last night.”

“What’s that fam?” Malcolm nosily questioned. He knew that Russell was a bad boy and a serious player when he wanted to be so no telling what he wanted to talk about.

“I kissed her last night.” Russell stated. He hated to kiss and tell but talking to Malcolm was like talking to his damn self so it didn’t matter.

Confusion quickly set in. “You kissed who?” Russell glanced down the street in the direction that Chloe was jogging in then his eyes wandered back over to Malcolm. Malcolm glanced down the road trying to see what Russell was looking at then… “Lance’s ol’ lady?” He asked with a surprised look on his face.

  “Yes man, Chloe,” Russell confirmed.

“Noooooo,” Malcolm said still confused as hell as to what caused that to happen.

“I know right. Check this strange shit out, man.” Russell shook his head like it was even unbelievable to talk about it. “Last night Tammy went out with the girls and you know I wasn’t sitting in the house alone. I had already decided to check out this house party that one of my lil homey’s put me down on. Some party he was attending with his girlfriend. So, I go to this party and it’s a lot of cool ass people there, mostly white people, but cool people. Hell, that worked for me,” he said reminiscing out loud. “Then I start mingling and getting my drink on when I hear this loud talking and laughing coming from the kitchen. I walk in there to see what the hype was about and who do I see? Chloe standing to the counter with her co-workers and she’s tossing shots back to back.”

“Damn,” Malcolm said in disbelief still thinking about the kiss.

“Right,” Russell agreed. “When she first saw me, she had to do a double take. Hell, I even had to do a double take, but I think I may have scared her because she was thinking that I was Lance and he’d popped up on her ass while she was showing her ass.”

“Damn, I bet that’s just what she thought at first too.”

“So, anyway once she realizes that it’s just me there and that I’ve come alone she starts to hang around me like she’s my ol’ lady or something. People there were actually mistaking me for my brother and she wouldn’t tell them any different. She was feeling good, bro. I mean real good.”

“I bet she was,” Malcolm commented definitely in tuned with the story.

“Aye so when the party winds down she walks with me out to my car then she wants to sit in my car and talk about problems she’s having with my brother. Mind you, Lance keeps calling her phone and she keeps sending his ass to voicemail. I know he’s wondering where she’s at and I’m sitting right in her face and can tell him her whereabouts, but that ain’t me. I didn’t want to tell on the girl, because she’d been actually really cool and fun inside the party. She just caught me off guard when she leaned in to kiss me.” He shook his head like that was an amazing kiss. “She stuck her tongue in my mouth and all I could taste was liquor and Dentyne ice gum. Damn that shit turned me on.”

Malcolm grinned. “Boy you a fool with it,” he stated.

“Man, before I know it I’m kissing the broad back and my hands start rubbing her breasts like they had a mind of their own. Boy, I know I was wrong but you shoulda seen her. She had on the baddest lil mini dress I’d seen in a minute. That body was banging.”

“Damn fam, sounds like you had a good time.” Malcolm said.

“Shit, a damn good time,” Russell stated. “But I can’t lie. I feel bad as hell this morning. I don’t know if it’s from this hangover or for betraying my brother by kissing his girl. Even though she just tried to convince me that she loves my brother I know she can’t love him like she claims. I coulda fucked her if I wanted too, but I stopped her. I had to push back a little and tell her that I couldn’t do it like it.” He said even though he actually could have he just didn’t want Malcolm to know that he was having thoughts like that.

“Damn man,” Malcolm said. It wasn’t much else he could say because he was still thrown off by that one.

“I just keep thinking about it. I mean damn, that’s my brother’s ol’ lady.” He disappointedly shook his head.

“Yeah, that’s the same thing I’m thinking. Don’t beat yourself up about it though because you didn’t pursue her. Hell, she pursued you. I’m just proud of you Bro, because you could’ve fucked her but you didn’t.”

“I know right,” Russell said feeling like it was a part of him that still wanted too though. “So anyway enough about that,” he said just wanting to clear his thoughts because Chloe certainly had him going. “Are you still going to the car show today?”

“Yeah, you sho’ you don’t wanna go?”

“Nah bro,” Russell responded. “You’re going to chill with your right hand man today. I don’t wanna interfere with that. I know y’all are gonna be at the car show surrounded by fine ladies and shit, but business will still be discussed at some point and you know how we feel about that.”

Malcolm agreed with a nod of the head. “Yeah I understand.” The truth was that he didn’t care to hang around when Russell and Cash chilled so he didn’t push the envelope. “Well man, I’m ‘bout to go. I need to be making a few moves. Plus, you done fed me too much information this morning. I wasn’t expecting to hear that shit.”

“Hell, I wasn’t expecting the shit that happened. I was just expecting to go to this party for a few hours, have a few drinks, and meet some new people. You know meeting new people is always good for business especially if they like gettn’ down with that girl.”

Malcolm grinned. “You’re right about that.”

Russell stood up, rubbing his stomach. “Shit, I gotta use the bathroom anyway bro. I got the bubble guts this morning.” Malcolm laughed out loud, shaking his head then standing up to leave. “You know free liquor will do you like that.”

“It damn sho’ will,” Malcolm agreed still laughing. “Well, go handle your business and I’ma holla at you when I get back.”

“That’ll work,” Russell commented giving his best friend dap then hurrying inside the house to use the bathroom.

  __________

Minutes later, Malcolm was back inside his truck and heading to the car show. He called his right hand man to let him know that he was on the way. The phone rang until it went to voicemail. Malcolm just ended the call. He never cared for leaving anybody voicemail messages. No sooner than he could hang up, the phone rang back.

  He answered. “What’s up Dmitri?”

  “What’s happening potna?” Dmitri responded.

“I was just calling to let you know that I was leaving Augusta. I should be there within the next two hours.”

“A’ight,” Dmitri said. “I’m glad that you decided to come, man. You’re gonna have a good time. Just stop by the crib first and we’ll ride to the show together.”

“A’ight cool, I’ll be there shortly,” Malcolm responded then they ended their call.

  Chapter 14

Russell sat on the toilet taking a nice long duMP. His stomach had been cramping and feeling queasy all morning. This was his third time using the shitter and all he was hoping was that this time around he’d get rid of all the toxins that were making him feel so nauseous. He rested his head back regretting only the part of the night where he’d drank too much then his cell phone rang disturbing his thoughts.

“Damn man, who’s calling me while I’m shittin’,” he said reaching over by the sink and grabbing his phone. Seeing Lance’s name on the caller ID made him feel some type of way. His heart sank a little. “Fuck it.”

  “What’s up bro,” he answered.

  “Aye kid,”
Lance spoke back. What you doing?”

  “Kinda busy right now Bro.”

“Aye, well I know you’re gonna need them cookies later on today but I won’t be home. I’m gonna get a suite at the Holiday Inn. So hit me up later when you need that and I’ll tell you where to come and get it.”

Russell sat confused for a moment. “Why are you getting a room today? Is everything good?” He pondered.

“Yeah man, they will be. I just need to get out this house and clear my head. Chloe been tripping and shit lately, and I just can’t take all that strain right now. Shit, I’m out here hustling trying to make life easier for her and she can’t see it.”

“Oh,” Russell said already two steps ahead on that because Chloe had filled him in on all kinda shit gone wrong in their household.

“I can’t shake and bake in here then she don’t want me cooking it nowhere else because she thinks I’ll be to a bitch house.” Russell listened at his brother vent. He sounded like he was really going through the motions. “Maaan kid, she didn’t act like this when I was out gambling for the dough, but she’s going crazy on me now that I’m handling shit differently. As long as I’m holding down the fort then she should be happy about it.”

“Yeah bro, I feel you on that shit.” He said, but he’d already tried to explain that to Chloe, but she wasn’t listening to him either. Just because he kissed and fondled her breasts didn’t mean that he didn’t take up for his brother.

“So that’s why I’m getting a room today and a suite at that, so I can shake and bake a lil some some.”

Russell nodded his head. “I see, I see,” he responded then out of nowhere Chloe’s voice could be heard in the background.

“Who are you on the phone with?”

“I’m talking to my brother crazy lady,” Lance responded then turned his attention back to Russell after she’d made a quick exit upon hearing that it was Russell on the phone. “You see what I’m talking about kid? She comes in here trying to see who I’m on the phone with. I’m starting to think that the woman wants me to cheat or something, because I ain’t doing shit but she keeps looking for shit.”

“She’s probably just worried about you. Don’t put too much thought in it. Just go get your room, handle your business, and hit me up later to let me know what the deal is.”

“That’s easier said than done, but that’s what I’m gonna have to do. Look, I’ll hit you back because she’s coming back in here again. No telling what she wants now.”

Russell grinned trying to play it off, but he knew what Chloe was up too. She was now making sure that he wasn’t saying anything that he wasn’t supposed to be talking about so he agreed to end the call. He didn’t want her thinking sideways, because on everything, he wasn’t saying nothing about that night to nobody else.

“A’ight bro, we’ll catch up later,” he said as they ended their call. Russell’s shit had been interrupted but his stomach did seem to feel a little better so he wiped his ass, flushed the toilet, and then pulled his shorts up. While standing to the bathroom sink washing his hands Tammy entered the home and walked straight down the hallway talking shit.

“Damn, you need to spray something in there. I smell that shit all the way in the kitchen.” She said entering their master bedroom. Russell picked up the cotton scented room perfume and went to spraying. He definitely was trying to kill the odor because she wasn’t lying. The smell almost wanted to make him run out the bathroom.

He stepped out the bathroom straight into their bedroom and noticed Tammy pulling an outfit out the closet.

“Are we going somewhere?” he pondered.

“Nope, but I am later on this evening.” She responded.

Russell frowned a little. She hadn’t mentioned going anywhere later, not to him anyway. “So where are you going?”

“The girls wanna hang out later again since we had so much fun last night. I figured that since I hardly ever do anything then why not.” She explained.

Russell nodded in agreement thinking that she rarely did get out much so it didn’t bother him. “Oh okay,” he said not worried at all about her being mischievous. She hadn’t given him a reason to think otherwise. He flopped down on the bed, lying on his stomach with his head rested on a pillow.

“Are you okay babe?” Tammy asked.

“Yeah, I’m good. I just got a lil hangover from last night.”

  “You must’ve really enjoyed yourself.”

“Honestly, I did.” He confirmed thinking about that mind blowing kiss with you know who. “It’s just all that free liquor that’s got me feeling this way.”

Tammy shook her head. “That’ll do it every time.” She grinned. “Well, I’m gonna go in this kitchen and cook my poor husband something to eat. You probably just need to put something on your stomach to help you feel better.”

Russell smiled. “Thanks babe,” he responded. He didn’t know what had gotten into her but he certainly liked the new change. She’d been more attentive and happier lately. He couldn’t put his finger on it but whatever it was she needed to keep it up.

She leaned down and kissed him softly on the lips. “No worries boo, I got you.” She then exited the room to make sure that her husband would be full and taken care of before she’d leave him again for another evening of fun with the girls.

  __________

Malcolm had made it to Macon safely, and he and Dmitri were now on their way to the car show. Dmitri was his boy, his right hand man. He’d been dealing with him since he’d first gotten in the game. It was by a chance encounter of running into him after a high school basketball game one night in the school’s parking lot. Dmitri’s car was parked right next to his and apparently, he was having some trouble getting it to start. By the time Malcolm made it out to the parking lot to leave Dmitri was already under the hood. Malcolm offered a helping hand by giving him a boost with his jumper cables. Long story short, small talk led to them getting to know each other a little, then more talk occurred after unexpectedly meeting up at the Waffle House; both trying to get something to eat before they took it in. From there the dope game was brought into play just by mere conversation and, of course, once Malcolm consulted with Amara and found out that Dmitri was clean then he became his right hand man. Other than dealing with Amara, he didn’t too funny deal with anybody else other than Dmitri in the streets.

Dmitri looked over at his friend. He actually liked Malcolm. In some ways he’d kept him safe by becoming his right hand man that way he didn’t have to deal with anybody else. The truth of the matter was that Dmitri didn’t need him or his product but he’d been asked to keep an eye on him by Dom back when Amara chose to recruit her own dope boy. He didn’t know exactly how deep Amara and Malcolm’s relationship was. All he knew was that Amara had to have liked him a lot, not only to recruit him, but for some reason he was still alive. He knew that he was the one that knocked off Malcolm’s snitch of a friend and back then Malcolm was also on the hit list, but Dom called it off at the last minute. What that was all about he didn’t know and certainly wasn’t going to question it, but somewhere between then and now they’d become boys plus, good business partners and he was glad that he didn’t kill him.

“So what’s been happening lately with the work, potna?” Dmitri questioned just to see if he could get a little information on why Malcolm didn’t have but five bricks for him a second time around. He’d been used to the usual ten bricks.

“Man, I’ve been investing in my business so I’ve had to cut back. I even bought an office space to run it from when we’ve expanded a little more.” He said. He wasn’t lying about any of that, because he’d done that already a few months prior but he didn’t talk about any business he shared with his connect. That was the number one rule that Amara had. One rule he had never broken.

“Oh, I feel you man. I’ve had to dish out some money here lately myself. That’s why I never mentioned anything about missing out on the other five blocks. I just wanted to make sure that
you were good on your end. You know if you needed anything I would have your back.” He said and he meant it.

Malcolm looked over at him and politely nodded. “I appreciate that fam,” he sincerely said. Nothing pleased Dmitri more than to be called fam, because other than Dom and his right hand man, Ronnie, there was no family.

“Shiit, I’m the one sponsoring this car show for my one of my lil homeys. He’s trying to come up the legit way and I’m supporting him all the way. You know he’s put this thing together quite nicely. Cars and bikes are coming in from some of everywhere. He has a few celebrities performing and he’s letting some really good local talent shine as well. Not to mention that he’s giving away door prizes and raffle wins. So since he put in the muscle I’ll put in the dough.”

Malcolm smiled because he liked that about Dmitri. He was about as ruthless as they came, but he still had a heart underneath that hard exterior. Even if nigga’s didn’t like his come up they couldn’t help but respect it.

“So your lil homey done did it up, huh?”

“Oh, yeah… Lil fella is making some pretty decent moves. I can’t help but respect that.”

“I feel ya,” Malcolm commented pulling into the parking lot of the car show. It was held on the Macon, GA fairgrounds and it was already packed. Mercer University was only a mile away so that within itself attracted a lot of college students. Short shorts, miniskirts, legs and stomachs were exposed from girls trying to attract some of the men with nice whips already figuring that they were some hard hustling dope boyz. He drove around to a side entrance because his truck was also being featured in the show. He smiled as he drove through the entrance watching the women staring their way. If nothing else his ride alone could pick up the females. After being directed where to go he parked his ride alongside a 2012 mustard colored Chevrolet SS truck with the mustard colored and chrome 28’ inch Davin rims.

Malcolm nodded in approval. “It’s some nice whips out here.”
