No Gentle Possession Page 18

by Ann Cristy

Once Zen was sure Damon was all right, she had a hard time containing the laughter that was bursting inside her. She clapped a hand to her mouth.

Damon glared at her as she ran from the room to find some soothing ointment. "Damn you, Xenobia," he shouted. "That had better not be laughter I hear. My toe hurts."

Zen returned moments later, still as naked as her glowering husband. "I don't suppose you'll believe that I love you more than anything or anybody in the whole wide world," she said, kneeling in front of him to rub his toe.

"Oh, yes, I believe that. I just don't believe you will ever get over this propensity to do me harm." Damon pulled her to her feet. "Forget the toe. It isn't broken, and the shower will feel good on it." His eyes glinted with sensual mirth. "Our grandchildren will be horrified to hear how you tried to murder me on our honeymoon, strutting around unclothed and sexy."

"Then I'll tell them the terrible effect you have on me." Zen hesitated, caught by his hot gaze. Her mind went blank. "I forgot what I was going to say," she admitted.

They walked into the bathroom side by side, their arms around each other.

In the shower they began a game of love that continued in the bedroom.

"Do you want to eat?" Damon asked some time later as he lay sprawled next to Zen on the bed.

She regarded him lovingly. "I don't need food when I have you. You nourish me." The smile faded from her face as he continued to caress her. "You're my vitamins and minerals," she murmured.

"And you are all things to me, my albatross love," Damon muttered into her neck.

"No..." Zen's words were hoarse. "You're my albatross love."

All through the night their sensual discussion continued, neither one wanting to end it.
