He leaned over, cupped the back of her head in his hand, and kissed her so profoundly that her heart began to palpitate. When he released her lips to move his mouth close to her ear, she shivered at his words.

  “I shall love you always.”

A low throbbing clasped the inside of her thighs. Before he could lay her down to ravish her of all thoughts, she placed her fingers on his chest.

“Listen, I’m thinking of selling this apartment. I haven’t made up my mind, but would you be okay if we moved into a bigger place?”

“One travels where one’s heart goes.”

That probably meant he’d abandon everything to follow her to the end of the world. Actually, he already had.

Warmth licked her belly when he straightened up. “Why this impulsive need, my lady? Aren’t you happy here with us?”

“God, yes. Garrett, I’ve never been happier, but you know how things have a way of changing all the time? Well . . . I’m pregnant.”

His face froze for a brief instant. His Adam’s apple bobbed up and down as he clenched his jaw and stared at her. Then a smile quirked the corners of his mouth and a single tear ran down his cheek.

  SOULS OUT OF TIME

Living in the twenty-first century isn’t always fulfilling, even on a sunny day in Sausalito, California.

When Tracy used her father’s newest invention, she jumped across time and worlds. Against all odds, she has found love in 1899 San Francisco.

Loyal subject of Queen Victoria, born with a silver spoon in his mouth, duty bound to obey and honor his family, Lord Garrett Burnes doesn’t have the right to marry a simple woman from another era.

Because they don’t belong together, the way to 1900 has been sealed.
