My Tessa Page 5

by Shell, C.

On their wedding day, Alex surprised Tessa with the most amazing gift, a Victorian style home he and his dad had built themselves. It had four bedrooms, an open kitchen savvy enough to make any chef jealous, a large living room with vaulted ceilings, game room, study, formal dining room, and a wraparound porch. Every time she thought about the love they put into building their house she got weepy eyed.

With the little one on the way they had began filling up the nursery and decorating it in yellow and greens. They both had refused to find out the sex of the baby wanting it to be a surprise, although the suspense was getting harder and harder to withstand. Tessa loved surprises but poor Alex was going crazy not knowing, he had tried bribing the doctor twice already to no avail.

Within the last year Alex had taken over his dad's company. His mother was finally able to talk his old man into retiring for good and taking it easy from now on. His cancer was thankfully in remission and they had made a promise to each other to enjoy each and every day as if it was their last and never take anything for granted.

Alex grabbed Tessa's hand leading her into their living room pulling her into his lap as he sat down on the couch. He loved the way she fit against him, she was his very own puzzle piece that he had been missing, and she made him whole. "You really need to rest more baby, it worries me how much you keep working without slowing down any. You and peanut are my life, I wouldn't make it if anything back every happened to you two."

Fighting back tears of happiness, Tessa grabbed his hand and kissed the back of it moving to each finger and kissing them while pledging her love to him. She never thought she would have her happy ending and especially not with Alex, but he had shown her exactly how right they were together and she could not imagine her life without him.

Capturing her lips against his he whispered," My Tessa, Mine."

She answered his kiss, nibbling on his lower lip as she answered," Yours baby, all yours."
