Jeff and Sarina went downtown for an evening of dancing under the stars. The weather had been pleasant all day and the moon was out in full. A street fair was in progress and several bands were playing along the mall. They made their way down the street checking out the booths, and tasting samples of food offered by the vendors.
About midnight he took Sarina home and made his way up the turnpike toward home. Up ahead were flashing lights and traffic had slowed down to see what had happened. The police were directing traffic around a vehicle that had overturned and was lying in the ditch totally demolished. As he approached the vehicle he recognized it. It was Bobby=s car. He stopped to ask a patrolman, who at first motioned him to keep going, but when he found out that Jeff knew the driver he ventured the victim had been taken to the Boulder Hospital, and wasn’t expected to live. They found his body lying in a heap beside the road. Jeff rushed to the hospital. The woman at the desk said he was in intensive care and couldn’t be seen. Jeff thought. >Never tell a star child he can’t do something.= He found the men=s room and went into a stall closing the door behind him. It took only a moment to locate Bobby. Without materializing into form, he folded his energy around his friend, holding him in suspension while others were administering to him.
One of the nurses remarked to the other, APut your hands on this guy=s body. There=s a lot of hot energy coming from somewhere. I can feel it.@ The other nurse immediately pushed the call button for her superior to come witness what was happening.
ALook at his wounds. They are closing over. I’ve never seen anything like it. He is healing himself!@ They stood there as though seeing a miracle. The patient whispered, >Jeff,= several times, but no one noticed. Shortly thereafter he opened his eyes seeing three nurses, eyes open wide, mouths open, too startled to speak. Finally the head nurse regained her composure blurting out to Bobby, AWhat just happened here? Are you an alien?”
AI’m not an alien,@ Bobby knew what was going on, but he wasn’t about to say anything and break his oath with Jeff.
AYou have to be an alien. You weren’t expected to live and look at you. There’s not a scratch on you. Someone get the doctor in here. I’ve never seen such a quick recovery in my life. He has to be an alien.@ One of the nurses ran down the hall to the nurse=s station to get the doctor telling everyone on the way. They all dropped what they were doing to witness the miracle.
Meanwhile, Mr. and Mrs. Ferris were in the lobby waiting patiently to see their son. They were shocked when they saw Bobby walking unattended out of the elevator. They were grateful he wasn’t hurt that badly. They had been told he was in bad shape and may not live.
Chapter 6
Bobby=s cell phone woke him up. He wondered who might be calling so early. Getting so few calls, he was delighted when it rang, but usually it was one of his parents or Jeff. AHello,@ he answered.
ABobby! This is Heidi. I just heard what happened to you. Are you alright?@
AYes, thanks to Jeff. He literally saved me. I got run off the road,@ Bobby responded, eyes lighting up and a smile on his face.
AWe’ve got to talk,@ Heidi said with deep concern in her voice.
ASure, I’ll come right over, but I thought you didn’t want to see me anymore.@ His demeanor changed and a burst of energy charged through his body.
AI don’t want to be taken for granted, Bobby,@ she remarked. AYou know how I feel about you. Can you come now?@
AI’ll be right there, but I have to use my motor bike. My car has been totaled.@
AOkay, but don’t hurry. I’ll wait.@ She said hanging up.
Bobby tried not to speed, but when his mind accelerated everything around him followed suit. The scare and trauma of the previous night was now a blur compared to the woman who would soon be in his arms. The accelerator just didn’t want to behave, but he was extra careful looking out for cop cars, and made it safely to Heidi=s place. He was off the motorbike almost before it stopped moving.

Bobby helped Jeff rescue his Great Uncle John’s manuscripts that had been buried in the field behind the Martin’s home before contractors started developing the land. Now that Jeff had time, he decided to inspect the box containing his great uncle=s documents. They must be at lease thirty maybe forty years old, he thought. Where should he begin? He picked up a manuscript, sat in the easy chair in his bedroom and began reading. Momentarily his eyes closed and a porthole opened before him. Should he enter it? Where would it take him, maybe to the planet John mentioned in his writings? The planet Dos was in the Orion Sector but must be a zillion miles away.
He wondered about the speed of thought travel. Could he send his mind there in twenty seconds or would it take a year? It intrigued him. He had never really astral traveled before. It was just a theory he had read about. Supposedly if he created an image in his mind he would be there instantly, kind of like when he teleported himself. But that planet was so far away. He cleared his mind and began.
He sat silently for a few minutes. Things seemed to be going on around him, like breeze rushing past. There were light specks, streaks of color and motion, like a wave. Then everything became quiet. This was all fine, but he thought there had to be more to it than that. He opened his eyes expecting to still be in his room, but instead saw a man a standing in front of him. The surroundings didn’t look familiar either, and he knew instantly he wasn’t on terra firma anymore.
AI’ve been waiting for you,@ the man said.
Jeff didn’t understand. AYou’ve been waiting for me? Where am I?@
AYou are on Dos. I’m John your great uncle.@
ABut you look so young. You should be a hundred years old by now.@
John laughed. AAging isn’t a problem on Dos.@ He paused for a second. AYou are from here, Jeff. Doesn’t this place look familiar to you?@
AVaguely, it feels familiar. I don’t feel I have to use my arms and legs to accomplish anything.@ He remembered as a kid not wanting to use them, but his Dad said he had to learn how. He was different from the other kids, and if he was from here that would have been the reason. A light went off in his mind. This was why it was so difficult to get accustomed to his environment growing up. He was used to this atmosphere not the Earth’s.
“What happened to you? Dad said you disappeared,@ Jeff inquired.
AI was gone too long and had no body to return to. I went back in time hoping to change the destiny of the people on earth, but it didn’t help, so I came here and was given a body. My spirit cycle was really finished on Earth. Now I’m enjoying your home planet just as you are enjoying mine. I still can’t do the things your descendants do, but over time I hope to develop those abilities. It’s most challenging here. When I was on Earth there were vibrations that made people want to accumulate, to possess everything. They couldn’t seem to get enough, everyone wanting their neighbor=s things. Is it still that way,@ John asked?
AI’m afraid it is. I could care less if I own anything, but I=m new there. With a few life experiences I might evolve that way myself, but I hope not. It’s a violent way to live, everyone wanting to possess what belongs to others. It hurts a lot of people.”
“You need to go Jeff. You can’t stay too long here. When you want to return put a few pebbles in your pockets. They contain earth energy and vibrations making it easier to stay here for longer periods. You’ll find it interesting to compare these two planets to each other.@ In John=s hands appeared a round globe of glass, kind of like a crystal ball, Jeff had received one at Christmas when he young, a scene with snow flurries when he shook it. This one was of a Dossian landscape, and is no bigger than three inches across. He handed it to Jeff.
As John was speaking, Jeff could feel himself slipping, being drawn back the path he took like a magnet. John=s image became blurred, and faded into darkness. He opened his eyes and was back in his room with the crystal in his hand. AW
ow,@ he thought. AWhat a trip! I=m definitely going back,@ but his energy was sapped. He put the manuscript back in the box, the crystal ball on the dresser, and went to bed.

The next day Jeff went back to Dos by concentrating on the crystal ball. John was waiting for him when he opened his eyes. He wanted to know why he was born on the Earth, why his spirit had traveled so far for a new challenge.
John said to him. AThis is the way the galaxies are inhabited. It creates a blending. When a certain set of vibrations is needed on a planet a search goes out to attract that specific set. You are not the only spirit to be born on Earth from here. There are thousands of you. You went to Earth as a group. It was determined that Earth civilizations wouldn’t survive without the infusion of a new set of vibrations. There are forces there content with the status quo, and they don’t want an infusion of new vibrations. Let me take you to the library here. Everything you want to know is contained within those walls.”
John continued as they moved towards the library. AMany years ago aliens landed on the earth but they didn’t survive because of the difference in atmospheric pressure and environment. Their physical bodies couldn’t acclimate to it. In order to establish a colony these aliens impregnated natives with their vibration patterns, their spirits. Because environments of planets are so different, it’s necessary to use the birth process to evolve. This is the way life is perpetuated in the universe.
As they approached the front door of the library John pointed out the fountain he had written about in his journals. Like the petals of a flower raising and lowering, the fountain was totally without any other form of power except that of the water falling on the leaves. They entered the front door and went up to the desk meeting the librarian. AYou will be in good hands now, but remember don’t stay too long.@
The librarian showed Jeff how to use the library and he became familiar with its layout. The stairway down to the rooms was bottomless, and the corridor had no end as if to indicate there was no end to knowledge. Each cubicle contained all the books ever written, with no ceiling, the shelves were endless. She explained. AWhen you want a book, the vibration of what you want will cause a book to drop down from above into your hands. There are no words in these books, but when you hold it you will feel the vibrations of knowledge contained within it. In this manner you will learn everything ever recorded.@
When he left the library John was once again waiting for him. AYour manuscript mentions something about a Conference Center Satellite. Is that around this planet,@ Jeff inquired?
ANo, it used to be, but not any longer,@ John explained. AIt was moved to another sector in the galaxy further from the Earth.” The vision suddenly faded and Jeff found himself back in his room.

Friday afternoon Charles was sitting on the auditorium stage at the university waiting to deliver his last lecture of the season, and Jeff was again giving the introduction. AClassmates and friends, I want to thank you for your participation in this series of lectures on the spirit of man. If you have enjoyed these lectures pass the information on to your friends. Today our speaker will be talking about the spirit mind. Without further adieu, I want to introduce Charles Martin.@
With a round of applause, Charles stepped up to the podium and cleared his throat. ABefore I begin, I want to remind you once again, when talking about the spirit world, nothing is scientific. I have no way of proving that what I tell you is absolute truth or totally false. This is my interpretation of spirit from my years of study and meditation. It’s up to you to determine whether or not it fits into your belief system. That said, let me begin:
Early premises of the spirit world were that spirits were evil. When a person died they went to heaven, spent eternity playing the harp, and sitting at the foot of God. If one was evil they were damned for eternity to the fires of hell. If they sinned a little but were basically good they went to limbo until they paid for their sins at which time the angels came and took them to heaven. This was a way to get people to behave, promising they would go to hell if they didn’t. Religions perpetuated this myth. It was a way of controlling the masses, but it explained nothing. To an educated mind it went against all logic. Many left their religions, but retained their beliefs in God.
Spirits take physical form because a major event happens that needs to be addressed. This event could be of a religious, cultural, or geological nature involving millions of spirits. As their intellect evolves, these issues are resolved.
Suppose you are a spirit wishing to participate in an event, and with your mind you record your experiences. To experience physical form you take on a body with a brain. When the body wears out you can get a new one. You have spirit friends with bodies also, and because you think alike, over time you work out the issues together. Events are like plays in which you have a chance to act out all parts. Sometimes you are the villain and sometimes a damsel in distress or a bystander. When the event is completed you cycle off the planet. Simplistic, but it sounds logical, doesn’t it?@
Charles paused to drink some water and continued. ABeing a spirit you have a different way of looking at things. When you have an idea, it appears to be completed instantly because time isn’t a factor. Communication is done mentally with your mind through mass consciousness, vocal chords are not needed. To visualize beautiful scenes you use your whole being, not just a set of eyes. When you feel emotion, that’s when spirits bond together and the energy of love flows through each other. Each spirit has its own set of vibrations because it’s a way of distinguishing one from the other. Space isn’t a factor as a hundred spirits can fit on the head of a pin.
Thoughts are another matter. No spirit knows whose thought is whose. The same thought, like a vibration goes through all at the same time. If the thought is foreign, not a similar vibration, it passes unnoticed. Take for example when I speak to you, all of you hear the words. On the telephone only one person hears them. When I go to bed at night, I pray to my God. All the spirits who are with me at that time hear my prayers and all are one with me.@
Taking another sip of water he surveys the group noticing a few new faces in the audience. Pointing to himself, he said. AThis body is the set of clothes my spirit has put. When I pass on, the wisdom I have gained stays in the mind of my spirit. The body dies because excess baggage has created blockages in it and it has worn out. A spirit in a new body brings with it unresolved issues yet to be completed. If you don’t solve the problems you have in this life you are destined to face them in the next. You can’t escape them. This happens over and over again until the spirit has completed its purpose, and cycles off waiting for a new challenge. What could a new challenge be? Inhabiting a new planet, or an ice age destroying most of the earth? How about a holocaust or atomic blast? These are events that inspire dormant spirits to once again be re-energized.
Last month I spoke to you about allowing spirits to help you in your work. This talk is about the mind of the spirit. The spirits surrounding this planet have earth experiences. They understand how this planet has evolved. Within their mind lies the very creation of all things. We can tap into this knowledge. It is free and all we have to do is allow it into our minds, drawing those spirits who have the knowledge. It’s called mass consciousness.@
Charles spoke about the evolution of spirit for a period of time. Noticing the audience starting to squirm, he said. AI will take questions now. Anyone have a question?@
Agent Cleaver was in the audience again. She had on a different outfit, but he recognized her wearing the same horn rimmed glasses with sequins in the corners. Her partner wasn’t there. She immediately stood up before anyone else could raise their hands and asked, AMr. Martin, what is a star child?@ It was unusual for her to speak out so boldly, as Jones always did the talking, but she was on a mission to prove her worth to the agency.
AA star child is a spirit having its first birth experience on this plane
t. The spirit has completed its cycle on another planet retaining the experiences and wisdom of the other planet, and is now facing new challenges here.
Still standing she followed up the question with, AIs it true that your son, Jeff, is a star child?@ A hush fell over the audience anticipating his answer.
Lying was not a part of Charles= moral fiber, but how could he get out from under the weight of this question? If he said, ANo,@ he would be lying, if AYes,@ Jeff=s life would be changed forever. He knew the day would come when the public would find out about his son, but he didn’t want to be the one that caused it. After a lengthy pause Charles spoke up, AHe is my son. That=s all I have to say.@ The audience seemed satisfied, but it confirmed Cleaver=s suspicions and she sat down. The rest of the audience must have been awed by the question as no more hands went up. Sarina, Bobby, and Heidi were sitting in the front row. It had been a tense moment for them as well, waiting Charles= answer, and they were relieved when it went no farther.
Jeff sat on the edge of his chair on stage wondering if he was going to have to disappear again. That was a close one, he thought. He didn’t wait around for conversation after it was over. Thanking Bobby and Heidi for coming to the lecture, he and Sarina left through the stage exit, heading to the coffee shop.
Once seated with lattes in hand Jeff took the crystal out of his satchel and handed it to her. ALook at this, Honey. It is a crystal from Dos. It contains minerals and a scene on the planet.@ As she held it he explained his meditation to her and what he had done to get there. ANow, I want to find the planet in the sky. I have the coordinates. Would your Father allow us into the observatory this evening? We could spend some time together afterwards?@ He inquired smiling.
