“Hell no. She too damn cheap to get them channels. Oh snap, I almost forgot she did tell me she just ordered HBO last week. Thanks for reminding me.” She gave him a juicy kiss on the cheek. Quita turned to HBO and her movie of all time was just coming on.

“Oh hell yeah, this is my muthafuckin’ movie!” She started screaming, and pop locking to the intro of the movie Breaking. She was so excuted she woke the baby up. Quita hopped off the couch and got Naja out of her playpen.

  “Aww, Na Na, Auntie sorry.”

“Can I hold her?” Timmy asked stretching his hands out.

“Sure be my guest.” She handed Naja off to Timmy and they all watched the movie together cuddled up on the couch.

Kali got home a little after five. When she walked through the door she saw Quita and Timmy fast asleep on the couch, with Naja on his chest and Quita’s feet on his lap.

“Awww, look at the happy little family,” Kali said.

Quita quickly opened her eyes and gave Kali the middle finger. Timmy knew his place so he sat up and handed the baby to her mother. He gave Quita two-hundred dollars to do what ever she wanted to do with it. She walked him to the door and he gave her a kiss, grabbed her fat ass and left. Quita walked back into the crib all smiles.

“How was the trip Kali?” Quita asked.

“Oh girl ,I had a good ass time after Kwon handled his business,” Kali said.

“I see you got your wig done heifer,” Quita said referring to Kali’s new hairstyle.

“Hell yeah, shit little sis I didn’t take the trip for nothing. I was damn sure getting my nails and hair done up before we got back up this bitch,” Kali said.

“I know that’s right. I don’t blame you, but I wish it was me though,” Quita admitted.

“Oh, here is the gift I got you. I hope you can fit it. I got a size 11/12,” Kali said throwing the bag to Quita.

“Oh that’s perfect Kali, thank you.” Quita almost tore the bag trying to see what Kali had brought for her.

“That’s the least I could do since you kept my baby for me.”

“Kali please, that’s my baby too,” Quita told her.

Quita looked inside the bag and went crazy.

“Oh shit, this is banging Kali,” Quita said excitingly. Kali got her a red mini skirt a black sheer top, and some black thigh high boots. “Thank you so much big sis.” Quita knew she was good for the night, because she had a hot new outfit to wear to the club and two hundreds dollars to blow. Kali opened another bag and pulled out a half gallon of E&J Brandy for them to drink before they hit the club.

  ~ ~

The club was crunk. Everybody was out and Quita felt like a million bucks. She was there with her normal crew. She was posted at the bar with Kali, Lexi and Rae. Jade wasn’t there because she supposedly had something to do. More than likely she was laid up with somebody’s man.

The girls were enjoying themselves as they danced the night away. They were already drunk as fish, but they carried a Heineken beer bottle around just in case a bitch came slick out the mouth. If one did she would surely get a bottle upside the head.

Quita searched the crowded club for Timmy with no luck. He was nowhere to be found. She shrugged it off and decided to have a good time anyway. She was slow grinding on some cutie pie that stared at her breasts the whole time they danced. She paid him no mind she just needed a dance partner. Her song, Montell Jordan’s This Is How We Do It” was blaring from the speakers. Quita was in the zone until she saw Timmy posted up at the bar mean mugging her hard. ‘If looks could kill, I’d be a dead bitch’. She laughed at her thoughts. She left the cutie on the dance floor by himself to join Timmy at the bar.

“Hey baby, I’ve been looking for you all night,” Quita said in a cheerful tone. She sat on the bar stool next to her boo. Timmy intimidated her with a cold, hard stare.

“You couldn’t have been looking for me too damn hard. You on the dance floor grindin’ on niggas’ dicks. Shit, you sure could have fooled me.”

Quita just listened to Timmy talk his shit. She was used to his jealousy by now. His motto was he could fuck any and everybody, but she couldn’t even speak to the opposite sex.

Quita waved him off because she didn’t feel like arguing with him.

“Baby you like my new outfit Kali brought me back from the Carolinas?”

“Fuck no I don’t like it. You look half naked,” Timmy told her through gritted teeth. She grabbed his Hennessey off the bar and threw it back.

“Look baby I’m having a good time tonight. You ain’t goin’ ruin my night. All these niggas know you’re my man, and they know I’m your girl, so you have nothing to worry about it,” Quita said to reassure him.

“Yeah those niggas better know, and if not they gonna feel some hot shit, fo’sho,” Timmy said.

“My word is bond ma I better not come back in here on no occasion and see you half dressed grinding on no nigga like that again. You hear me?” Timmy asked.

“Yes baby, I hear you loud and clear,” Quita told him.

“Good,” Timmy said. He was just about to cut into her ass for drinking so much, because he could tell she was on the verge of being pissy drunk.

“You also need to stop…” All of a sudden they heard several loud pops. The music stopped and everybody was screaming running for the exits.

Some Jersey niggas was up in that bitch trying to pull some stick-up kid shit. Thinking they was in a fucking movie or some shit. Timmy put his body over Quita’s to shield her from any stray bullets those wreck less ass kids might fire off.

“Everybody shut the fuck up, and strip!” They yelled in unison. Timmy was mad at himself because he left his heat in the car due to security. ‘Fuck it’s only two of them I know me and my boys can take these two pussy’s out,’ Timmy thought to himself.

Quita was so scared that she couldn’t stop shaking. It took her back to moment in her life that she wasn’t ready to relive. She couldn’t help but think about when those hooded niggas ran up in her parents crib in Detroit. Timmy pulled her closer to him to ensure her safety.

“Come on baby girl I got you,” Timmy reassured her. Quita tried to calm herself, but she was shaking uncontrollably. She was panicking because she couldn’t find Kali, Lexi and Rae. They had been M.I.A since they got inside the club.

“Everybody take all ya fucking clothes off. Put the jewelry, money, and dope in the bag.” Both masked men had a gym bag in circulation to get the goods they came for.

Everybody including Quita and Timmy was following orders.

“Make sure to put ya cell phones and pagers in the fucking bag too,” The big burley one with dread locks hanging from underneath his ski mask instructed.

What nobody knew was that the club was under investigation, and an undercover cop was in the club trying to get some info on the club owner for allowing local drug dealers to deal from the club.

Plop, plop, screaming flooded the club, followed by crying. The trigger happy gunman fired off two shots at the local big mouth that refused to strip. Big Ron was hit once in the shoulder and once in the leg.

Less than fifteen minutes later the cops defused the whole operation and took the assailants to the Southern Regional Jail. Luckily nobody else was hurt in their robbery attempt. Big Ron was rushed to the nearest hospital where he was patched up and sent home.

Quita ran around like a madwoman trying to find her sister. Finally she found Kali, Lexi and Rae in the women’s bathroom with a few other girls crunched up like sardines. They all had tears rolling down their cheeks. Quita was relieved that her sister and friends were fine. They all hopped in the car with Timmy and went home, because the club was shut down for the night. ‘What a fuckin’ night,’ She thought on the ride home.

  Chapter 7

A few weeks later Quita was over Lexis’s crib planning to hit up the local pool where the ballas be hanging out at.

“Girl we gots to rock our skimpy bikinis with the wraps, ‘cause everybody is gonna be
there and you know we gotta look fly,” Quita told her.

“Oh hells yeah I can’t wait girl, because I know J-Roc goin’ be there with his boys and it won’t hurt to make his ass jealous.”

Quita just shook her head to agree.

“That nigga gonna fuck you up. You better stop playing with him girl,” Quita teased.

“Shit, I wish that nigga would,” Lexi warned.

Quita’s phone started ringing. When she looked at the caller ID it displayed Rae’s number.

“Ugh, what the fuck she want?” Quita asked out loud.

“Who is it Quita?” Lexi asked.

“Oh, it’s ya girl, Rae,” Quita said sarcastically.

“Bitch that’s your friend. Look whose phone she calling.”

Quita held up her index finger to let Lexi know she was about to answer the phone and she needed her to be quiet.

“Hellooo.” Quita sang into the phone.

“Quita!” Rae shouted into the phone so loud Lexi could hear her.

“Damn she loud as fuck,” Lexi said.

“Yeah, it’s me girl. Why the fuck are you screaming?” Quita questioned.

“Girl I hope you sitting down, ‘cause I got some fuck shit to tell you,” Rae said.

“Ok I’m sitting, but Rae your scaring the fuck out of me. What happened?” Quita asked her.

“When was the last time you talked to Trey?” Rae asked.

“We kicked it a few weeks ago why?” Quita asked nervously. By this time Lexi was sitting beside Quita trying to hear what Rae had to say.

“Quita, the police found his body behind the club downtown last night. Quita broke out in a loud scream. Her heart dropped and she could barely breathe. Quita temporarily went deaf because she couldn’t hear Lexi screaming her name over and over.

“Quita….Quita what happened?” Lexi asked trying to get Quita to tell her exactly what happened. Rae was on the phone crying with Quita, but she was also trying to get her to give Lexi the phone.

Lexi was still sitting beside Quita in awe. She knew something was wrong, but she didn’t know what. She tried to take the phone out of Quita’s hand but she had a tight grip on it. Again she tried to ask Quita what happened, but got no response.

Quita let the phone drop from her hands to the floor, and crawled up on Lexi’s couch into the fetal position. She cried uncontrollably. Lexi retrieved the phone from the floor.

“Rae this Lexi. What the fuck happened?” She questioned. Through tears Rae managed to tell Lexi what happen to Trey.

“Oh my fuckin’goodness!” Lexi said blown away. She also began to cry.

“Do they know who did it?” Lexi asked Rae.

“I dunno Lex, the news said they do have suspects, but no arrests have been made as of yet.”

Quita still had feelings for Trey. The truth was she had sex with and Trey the last time they saw each other. It was one day when Timmy didn’t answer his phone. The sex was explosive! It was even better than she could remember. She kept that part from her girls, because she knew they would blow the whole situation with Trey and Timmy out of proportion. Quita’s heart was broken and she didn’t know if she was coming or going.

Lexi couldn’t believe her ears. She was also fucked up about the news, but she took it a whole lot better than Quita.

“Damn Rae. I know this is going to fuck Quita up in the worst way. I can tell she still got mad love for dat nigga. I know, ‘cause even though she wit’ Timmy, she always talked about Trey.” Lexi’s mind started to wonder. They all went to school together, and although Trey was a couple years older than her, they all used to chill together. Finally Lexi snapped out of her daze.

“Rae let me go, and try to calm Quita down ‘cause she still crying. We’ll call you later, and maybe we can get a bottle and try to relax after all of this bad news.”

“A’ight girl. Tell Quita I’m sorry, and if she needs anything to just give me a call. I’ll be here,” Rae told Lexi.

“I will. Bet,” Lexi told her disconnecting the call.

Lexi went to Quita’s side he knew that her girl needed some comfort.

“Quita I am so sorry to hear bout Trey. I know you two were mad close, so I can’t even imagine how hard this must be for you to deal with,” Lexi said while rubbing Quita’s arm.

Quita used her shirt to wipe the tears from her face She thanked Lexi for her concern.

Of course they didn’t make it to the park that day. Lexi called Rae, Kali, Jade, and a couple of their friends over for some drinks and down time. Quita wasn’t much company. She was unusually quiet. Normally when Quita got fucked up she was wild as hell. She was always talking shit to any and everybody.

After everybody left Quita asked Lexi if it would be okay if she stayed over because she didn’t want to go home and deal with Dashiki.

“Girl you know you my bitch. You are welcome here anytime. We can just chill and watch movies or something,” Lexi told her.

“That’s cool. You got Menace II Society?” Quita asked.

“Yeah, you know I do. That’s one of the best movies out,” Lexi said.

“I know right. Girl, that was Trey’s favorite movie. He just knew he was Cain’s ass,” Quita said. They both laughed.

Quita ended up falling asleep half way through the movie. Lexi finished watching the movie by herself, and sparked a blunt to the head. ‘Trey getting merked is some fuckery,’ Lexi thought as she finished her blunt.

When Quita woke up the next morning her eyes were burning and she could hardly see because of all the crying she’d done the day before. She cried so long and hard her face was swollen, and her voice was raspy.

Quita knocked on Lexi’s bedroom door so she could get a towel and washcloth to clean up before she bounced.

“Good morning sleepy head,” Quita said peeking her head into Lexi’s bedroom.

“Good morning Quita. Are you feeling a little bit better girl?” Lexi asked in a sleepy voice. Lexi looked at the clock on her nightstand to check the time.

“Not really, but I’ll be a’ight girl.” Quita told her.

“Damn Quita, it’s six thirty in the morning where you going?” Lexi asked.

“I’m going home girl. I can’t stay here all day. Your moms will be home shortly from work, and I’m not trying to be here,” Quita said.

“Girl you know she loves you like a daughter. She don’t mind if you stay over here.”

“I know Lexi. I just need some time to myself that’s all.”

“Well, I can understand. Just call me later.”

“I will.” Quita took a quick shower and headed home.

She used her key to get into Dashiki’s apartment. She was surprised to see Dashiki sitting on the couch drinking a cup of coffee watching the news. ‘Nosey bitch! She never watch the news,’ Quita thought to herself. She told Dashiki good morning and headed to her bedroom.

Quita flopped on her bed, pulled her photo album out and cried some more. Dashiki came into Quita’s bedroom, of course with out knocking. She sat on the bed beside Quita and told her how bad she felt about Trey’s passing.

Just those words alone made Quita feel even worse and she cried even more. She never thought Dashiki had feelings like that. She always acted cold toward her. For the first time she felt warmth and compassion from Dashiki. She honestly felt love from her big sister, which was not a normal thing for her feel.

“Thanks so much Shiki that means a lot to me.”

“It’s no problem Quita, you’re my sister.” Quita smiled. Daskiki headed back to the living room.

“Hey Shiki if anybody calls or come by looking for me just tell ‘em I’ll holla at em’ later,” Quita told her.

“Ok baby sis I got you.” She closed the door and left Quita alone for the rest of the day.

Quita wiped her tears, and attempted to call Trey’s mother and brother. She dialed the number, but half way through she lost her nerve. She figured that it might be too soon to call. She stayed in bed for the res
t of the day and reminisced about the good old days. She couldn’t believe her lover, her friend was gone and he was never coming back
