In the pause that followed, Jordon smiled. “I have to share something with you.” He peeked at the doorway.

  “Yeah?”

“Yeah. You remember me telling you about Adrian Tripp?”

“That handsome rich guy you work with?”

  “Uh-huh.”

  “Well?” Bryan laughed.

“He keeps making a play for me.”

  “No.”

“Ever since his little blowjob buddy left, he’s been after a replacement.”

  “You lucky dog.”

Jordon replied, “I’m not doing it with him.”

“Why not? Christ, Jordon. It’s just sex.”

“I’m engaged and not gay, Bryan.”

“You don’t know what you’re missing, big bro.”

  “Now you sound like Adrian.”

  “Give him my number.”

  “I tried.”

  “Oh, well.”

“I just thought it was funny.”

“It is. I wish I had gorgeous millionaires offering me head.”

  “Sorry, Bry.” Jordon chuckled.

“If you change your mind, I want to know.”

“About going to Montclair this weekend?”

“No. About getting your cock sucked by a guy.”

Jordon stood up and made sure Fawn was still in the bathroom. He cupped the phone and asked, “Is it that different than with a woman?”

  “Come on, Jordon.”

Jordon walked back to the den and whispered, “Seriously, Bry. What’s the big deal about having a man do it that’s different than a woman?”

“It just is. It’s hotter. Rougher. And we swallow. Does that airline princess even suck your cock?”

A hot blush rushed to Jordon’s cheeks.

“Hello?” Bryan asked. “Are you still there?”

  “Uh…”

“Christ, Jordon! She doesn’t even suck you off?”

“I don’t want to talk about it.” Jordon looked back at the door to the bathroom in paranoia.

“I wouldn’t marry someone who didn’t do it, Jordon.”

  “We have different priorities, Bryan.”

“What do you see in her?”

“How can I explain that to my gay brother?”

“I’m gay, not an idiot. I know the difference between a dumb blonde and a smart one.”

“All right, cut it out. She’s not dumb.”

  “Sure, Jordon.”

“I’m hanging up if you start on her.”

“Whatever. If you two end up divorced, don’t blame me.”

  “Goodbye, Bryan.”

  “Bye.”

Jordon hung up the phone and propped it in its cradle. He moved to the bathroom, listening first before rapping his knuckle on the door.

  “Yes?”

  “You doing okay?”

  “Yes.”

  “Can I come in?”

  “Sure.”

He opened the door and was hit with a steam cloud from the hot water. She was talking on her mobile phone, the empty wine glass perched on the edge of the tub.

“I know, Jewel! He said that? What a jerk.”

Jordon sat on the closed toilet seat, waiting. He noticed a box of tampons on the counter and assumed sex would be off tonight.

“We’ll talk more about it on Saturday. Gotta go.” She ended the call, set the phone on the floor, and smiled at Jordon.

“You, ah… you have your period?”

  “Yes. Why?”

“Just thought it would be nice to have sex.”

“Aw, poor baby.” She puckered her lips and made kissing sounds at him.

His brother’s voice fresh in his ears, he cleared his throat. “Would… uh… would you do something else?”

“Like what?” She leaned up and handed him the sponge. “Wash my back?”

He took it from her and scrubbed her back. “Would you give me a blowjob?”

Her body tensed up. He could almost imagine her expression of disgust.

  “Is it that terrible, Fawn?”

  “I’m not really into it.”

“If you tried it, you might find it’s not half bad.” Jordon placed the sponge on the side of the tub and ran his hand up her back gently.

  “Er, I don’t think so.”

“Why not?” He caressed her hair that was tied up in a clip behind her head.

“I just don’t like doing it.”

  “I do it to you.”

“Yeah, uh, I don’t like when you do it to me either.”

Jordon stopped caressing her hair, sat back, and tapped her shoulder, making her look at him. “Am I crap at it?”

“No. I just don’t get turned on by it.”

“What does turn you on?” He touched her cheek lightly.

  “Shopping!” She laughed.

“I’m serious, Fawn. Do you have any secret fantasies?”

“No. Not really. I mean, sex is a guy thing. Women are into other things.” She smoothed the soapy sponge down her arm.

“Come on, Fawn. Women like sex. That show, what’s it called? About those New York women. What’s her name? Samantha?”

Fawn rolled her eyes and snorted in disbelief. “Come on. No woman is like that. She’s more like a guy.”

“I find that hard to believe.” Jordon watched as she ran the sponge over her breasts and felt his cock twitch.

“I swear it’s fiction. You can’t believe television, Jordon. They make all the women seem like sluts.”

Jordon got to his knees and reached for the sponge, running it over Fawn’s nipple. She giggled shyly. “Stop.”

“Why?” He moved to take it into his mouth.

“Because,” she teased, nudging him back.

“But I want to.” He made another attempt.

She drew back, covering up. “You’ll just get too excited.”

  “So? Isn’t that the idea?”

“But if it’s that time of the month, Jordy,” she whined.

“What can I do? I get turned on by you.”

“I don’t know. Can’t you fix it yourself?”

“Jerk off?” He sat on his heels and stared at her. “You want me to jerk myself off? Are you kidding me?”

“Don’t all guys do it?” She tipped the last drop of wine onto her tongue.

Jordon asked, “This is just because you have your period, right? You haven’t gone off me or something, have you? Because, Fawn, if you have…”

“No. Don’t be stupid. I haven’t gone off you or whatever. I’m tired. I just finished four days of flying, I’m having my period, and I wanted to take a bath and go to bed. It’s got nothing to do with you, Jordon.”

Jordon rose to his feet, trying not to grow unreasonably angry. It had everything to do with him at the moment.

He could feel his erection and see it tenting the front of his gym shorts. All she did in response was glance down at it quickly with very little interest.

He began sliding his shorts down his legs, hoping to entice her with his body.

“What are you doing? You’re not going to jack off in here, are you?”

When her lip actually curled in repugnance, Jordon gave himself a stroke. “Can I do it staring at you?”

  “Ew, no.”

“Ew?” He choked. “Did you just say 'ew'?”

Her tone grew hostile. “Jordon. I’m tired and I have cramps.”

“I don’t believe this. You’re my fiancée. If I can’t get off with you, who the hell can I get off with?”

“Me. You can get off with me. Just not tonight. Why is it so important to you? I mean, women are good for other things as well, you know. Not just sex.” When her mobile ring tone sounded, she didn’t hesitate. “Hello? Camisha! No. I’m fine. What’s up?”

His mouth hung open. He grabbed his shorts off the bathroom floor and left the room. After dropping onto the foot of his bed, Jordon looked down at his soft cock and rubbed his jaw stubble in frustration. “What the fuck am I getting
myself into?”

  ***

He waited for her in bed. Lying on his back, his hands behind his head, naked, he stared at the ceiling.

Fawn entered the bedroom, the phone at her ear, whispering to one of her fellow flight attendants. She was wearing his NYU t-shirt again instead of pajamas, and her hair was still pinned up on her head.

“Okay. See ya tomorrow, Camisha. Cool. Bye.” She shut off her phone and set it on the dresser.

He rolled to his side, propping his chin in his palm, watching her.

  “Oh. You’re still up?”

“Yes.” He peeled back the blankets for her, revealing his body in the process.

“Did you, you know?” She crawled in with him.

“No.” Once they were together, he drew her close, kissing her neck.

  “I’m really tired, Jordy.”

“You used to enjoy our cuddling.”

  “I don’t mind cuddling, but…”

  “But?”

  “Well, you’re all excited.”

Jordon leaned back from her to see her eyes. “I’m a man. Shouldn’t you be flattered you get me horny? What am I not getting here?”

“Look.” She sounded annoyed. “On most nights I don’t mind lying there so you can get off, but tonight, I’m exhausted, I have my period, and crampy.”

He spun over to give her his back. “I get it.”

“Good. Goodnight, Jordon.” She shut off the light on the nightstand.

He was grinding his jaw, he was so angry. His head began aching as he stared into the darkness, pent up and needing release. Between waiting for her to come home from her flying shift, and her timing for her menstrual cycle, he’d gone a month without. If he didn’t have sex soon, he’d explode.

  Chapter Two

He woke up with a hard on and rolled over to see if Fawn would at least give him a hand job. He found the bed empty and looked around the condo for her. She was in the bathroom putting on her make-up, the tiny phone to her ear, chatting non-stop, and a carafe of coffee from room service on the marble sink counter.

Jordon scuffed back to his bedroom, muttering, “Can’t even make a pot of fucking coffee.”

Jordon headed to the spare bathroom at the other end of the penthouse, taking some clean clothing with him. He started the water in the shower and tried not to grow unreasonably angry. She wouldn’t have her period every day, and women were notorious for being slightly cranky when they were having it. He’d known her and several other women enough to know when to keep the hell away from them.

Fawn was no different. He had no idea what it was like to get cramps or bleed once a month, so he tried to be sympathetic.

He stood under the hot water, considering jerking off just because he could. Jordon stared down at his flaccid cock and reconsidered. He wasn’t excited at the moment, and his preoccupation with Fawn’s attitude would only make it tougher to come.

As he soaped up, running his fingers over his soft genitals, he thought about men like Bryan and Adrian. Did gay guys have it easy? Men were so sexually oriented, surely they got it constantly.

He hated the fact that his brother was sated daily by a willing male partner.

Because of Bryan’s happy stories about his sexual exploits and the absurd frequency with which he had sex, Jordon had become just slightly curious. But not enough to actually act on it, especially not now with his engagement to Fawn.

He’d dealt with sexual tension since he met Fawn because of the nature of her job. It wasn’t that big a deal to him to wait for her. Yes, he had what he considered a decent sex drive, but not to the point where he needed to satisfy himself a few times a day, or daily for that matter. He rarely masturbated.

Maybe it was the job that wore him out? That and the strenuous time in the gym left him depleted. Most nights, after a late dinner, he’d collapse on the sofa in the den and become a zombie in front of CNN or some other news channel.

He shut the taps and stood still a moment, trying to listen for any voices outside the door. He heard nothing and stepped out of the shower stall, wiping his face with a towel. He dried off and removed a disposable razor and foam from the cabinet. He kept spare items in both bathrooms for the nights Bryan hung out. Though since Jordon had become engaged, Bryan wasn’t staying overnight much any longer.

While he shaved, staring at his reflection in the mirror as the razor glided over the slick shaving cream, Jordon wished when he finished in the bathroom that Fawn would have a nice breakfast prepared for him.

He laughed softly. That day would never happen. He had seen Fawn make one attempt at it and she had even burnt the toast, setting off the smoke detector.

It was funny. He could see the humor in it. In reality, he didn’t mind; cooking was one of his favorite hobbies.

He rinsed the rest of the white foam off his face, and Jordon studied his reflection to make sure he hadn’t missed a spot. His wet, tussled brown hair needed a trim, and his dark eyes looked like he was brooding. Was he?

He tossed the towel into the hamper, then dressed in a pair of black slacks and a short-sleeved cotton shirt in anticipation of the lunch meeting with the wedding planner later on.

When he stepped out of the bathroom, he found Fawn still on her damn mobile phone, the carafe of coffee tipping its last drop into her mug.

“I know! Do you believe it? Non-stop without a break in between? I swear, Camisha, they’re trying to kill us.”

Jordon went through the motions of making a fresh pot of coffee as she slouched over the counter babbling.

Once the coffee was dripping, he opened the fridge for some bread, butter, and eggs.

“I’ll take mine scrambled, Jordy,” she announced, never missing a beat of her conversation.

“What am I? The new short-order chef?” he muttered, but knew it was too low for her to hear. He knew how she liked her eggs. He paid attention to details like that.

“It’s just Jordon, he’s making us breakfast.” Fawn’s gaze flicked at him quickly.

She was still wearing leggings and his t-shirt. Jordon didn’t know why, but it annoyed him.

“Are you going to get dressed?” he admonished lightly. “I wouldn’t mind doing some errands before we meet your mom.”

Without a comment she left the room, phone to her ear, cup to her lips, saying, “I don’t know, Camisha, maybe he just woke up on the wrong side of the bed.”

As her voice faded, Jordon smiled sadly. “Fucking PMS.” He cracked the eggs into a bowl and mixed them as the butter sizzled in the pan.

When the food was getting closer to being done, Jordon poked his head into the bedroom. “I’m about to serve breakfast.”

“Okay, Jordy.” She was off the telephone finally and in a smart summery outfit of white and yellow print. She leaned on him as she pulled the strap up on her high-heeled sandals.

  “You love me?” he asked.

“Yeah, even though you can be a grump.” She grinned impishly at him and wrapped her arms around his neck. She pecked his lips and sniffed, “Mmm, smells good. I’m starved.” As she headed into the kitchen she exclaimed, “Oh! Good, can you pour me another cup of coffee, Jordy?”

Jordon exhaled a deep sigh, heading into the kitchen behind her. He scooped the eggs onto the plates with the toast. “Can’t you do it, babe? While I get the food on the table?”

Without an answer, she poured herself more coffee.

Jordon placed the two plates on the table, watched her sit, sip from her cup, and begin eating.

Jordon tipped some coffee into a mug for himself, added milk, and joined her, trying not to grow angry again. She was eating it so quickly, she was almost finished by the time he had his first sip of coffee. “You are hungry.”

“Starved. And I love your cooking. What the heck do you put in the eggs? They always taste great.”

“I could teach you how to cook, you know.”

“Nah. You either got it or you don’t, Jordon.” She met his eyes. “And I
don’t!”
