The Ringer

What a life, Archie thought. Living in the house of his dreams with the girl of his dreams in a set up which he could only have imagined. Emma and Archie had become inseparable. Emma meant the world to Archie and everything they had been through over the last twelve months seemed insignificant compared to their current situation. The here and now was what he wanted to concentrate on. He had everything to live for. He put down his digging fork and garden gloves and walked over to the house, across the manicured lawns.

Emma appeared radiant. She had just been for a shower and had washed her hair, having started some internal decorating within the downstairs kitchen. She beamed as Archie approached. “I’ve something to tell you, Archie,” Emma began. “Have you now?” Archie was unsure what was coming next but Emma pulled him into her arms “I love you, Archie!” she said. “Ahh!” responded Archie. He tickled Emma and then pulled her towards him further. “I love you too, Emma!”

Archie could not suppress his smile as Emma chuckled with her infectious giggle.
