I have almost leveled them both fully up, during the trip to Imperial City I can level them up while killing some beasts. I can't wait to know what will happen once I reach the maximum on both, I thought with excitement and anticipation for the journey ahead.

“Uncle Ye, will I meet you at Imperial City?” I asked a bit curious, he had not exited the city once after his wife died.
“Hahaha for sure! Remember, I still need to see how you'll amaze the world with a single feat!” Ye Qing laughed.
“Of course!” I waved my hand at him, I took one last look at my first real home since my transformation, a home where I stayed for almost three years, and left with Shi Yin. I probably won't come back. Goodbye, executions grounds!
It has been almost three years inside this damn city. I couldn't help but roar! My path was beginning to form my journey to get stronger! Shi Yin got scared from my roar! I laughed at her dumb look on her face. Hahaha, what a funny face she has right now.
“Shi Yin, let's go. I hope the Shi family remains is worth my time!” Who knows, maybe there is something to make me wildly stronger, perhaps a buried treasure, like in the novels I've read. What I know for sure, is that there'll be plenty of experience points on the road ahead.
Shi Yin's eyes turned completely white. I could see a fuzzy aura around her, “It will, the Shi family is full of treasures!” She returned to her normal state immediately after saying that.
“Huh? What was that?” I said as I turned around to check Shi Yin, who was walking behind me.
“Are you okay? Did something happen?” I couldn't help but ask. Something strange right now... gave me an eerie feeling on the crook of my neck.
Shi Yin looked at me confused, “No, I'm fine.”
I couldn’t help but think ‘you don’t seem fine to me,’ but for the sake of brevity I decided to let it go.

That was close, I was almost done for. It’s been one month already since we came into the forest. This time, we were surrounded by ten grey wolves. Having to protect Shi Yin was a pain in the ass, I had to grab her while fighting every single beast in the forest. I never had to face a battle against a group before, this was the first time. I must say that it was much harder than I expected.
“Shi Yin are you okay? They injured you, let me look at your arm,” I checked her arm, her arm had a wide, gaping injury. If I wasn’t so careless, she would not have gotten injured. Shit. I felt like shit.
“We need to treat your arm, otherwise, the beasts will follow your blood trail.” I was getting some bandages and herbs ready to help with her injury when I saw Shi Yin's injury healing and disappearing. A huge fear came over me after I saw that her injury was gone after only a few seconds!
“Shi Yin your injury is gone!” I exclaimed. What kind of insane healing rate was this?
“I don't know what happened. I could feel something inside, healing my injury.” Shi Yin said a bit confused, she kept staring at her arm. “Am I a monster?” she asked me, looking into my eyes.
“I'm not sure, but this is a good thing, you've got a nice ability! You can heal yourself super-fast, many people would get jealous if they'd see your ability.” My words helped to cheer her up a bit.
“Let's continue after we rest a bit,” I said trying to keep moving forward.

During this time, even though there was some “intimate” contact between her body and mine due to the fights in the forest, Shi Yin was not very talkative, and the fact that I was angry did not help us to get any closer with each other. Both of us maintained a comfortable distance from each other.
I did not notice it at first but after one week in the forest, I noted a flaw in my plan, which sadly will affect my ability to grow stronger. I forgot that killing a beast gives me XP, and Death Core points, but not Death Points. There goes my plan to get stronger during the trip... down the drain unless I could find humans to kill. Damn, if I had remembered this I would have killed more people in the city!

It will take years to breakthrough at this rate. Fuck! This is so annoying, my route to the Shi family remains, and then the way to Imperial city is through country roads and wild zones, otherwise, I won't be able to make it in time. Unless I go to a city and annihilate all the people there, I won't be able to break through! Yeah! Maybe I should just kill everyone! I couldn’t help but think about how to survive the journey ahead and what measures might need to be taken.
Shi Yin kept looking at Ye Bai, she trembled. Ye Bai was releasing a murderous aura, his eyes turned black. Right now Ye Bai had a fierce expression, he was clearly looking for someone to murder.
“Ye Bai, Ye Bai! What's wrong? Get a hold of yourself!” Shi Yin disregarded her fear and shouted, but it was all for nothing. Ye Bai did not seem to listen to her.

In the middle of the forest, a young girl was carrying a boy on her back while running. Three wolves were hunting the girl down. The girl was out of breath, covered in blood, and trying to catch her breath.
“Ye Bai, hurry and wake up! Wake up or we'll die!!!” Shi Yin could not hold on anymore. She had been carrying Ye Bai for a few hours already. She felt lonely once Ye Bai fainted, surrounded by the dangers of the forest yet she did all she could to take care of him until the wolves found them.
“Huh?! Shi Yin...” What happened? My mind was confused.
“Ye Bai, are you okay? We will die if you don't hurry, three wolves have surrounded us and are chasing us!”
I could feel Shi Yin was nervous and trembling, I looked at her and became scared, there was no trace of the former beautiful Shi Yin. Blood covered her petite body, I could faintly see parts of her white skin, since it was now covered in blood. What happened to her!? I thought as I fully regained consciousness.
“You! Die!” In an instant, I reached the peak of my speed and unleashed a devastating punch to the first wolf. The wolf didn't manage to avoid me, and so, the head of the first wolf exploded into tiny pieces. The two other wolves felt their legs grow weak, they shivered. I was the wild beast now. They were too weak. Both of their heads exploded after just two punches!

“Shi Yin! How are your wounds? Can you heal yourself?” Damn, what kind of a man am I! This nonsense death existence... I couldn't even protect a little girl. I must learn to control myself, this mustn't happen again.
“It's okay Ye Bai, I just need some rest to heal.” Shi Yin closed her eyes and fainted.
I took Shi Yin in my arms and went to find a safe place to rest, I found a cave roughly half an hour later, I took a bed from my inventory and placed her on it so that she could rest and heal.
While checking on Shi Yin, I was wondering how she managed to escape from three wild beasts of the 3rd rank. After all, they are comparable to a normal Mortal Realm of the 5th rank. She doesn't have any kind of body cultivation at all, could it be due to her abnormal body? I did not have any way to check or Inspect her. If only the System could help... I did the only thing I could think of to do, I used Death End on her.

Chapter 30
Encounter
> As I expected, Shi Yin can use her lifespan to do more thing than just suck the life from others to herself. This does not explain the fact that she cannot train at all. Why does she remain as a normal human? She could be at the top of existence with this power. Though this time she had almost overused her lifespan, if her absorbing speed is just enough to support her living... it was probably because of the abilities she used to escape from the wolves, she won't be able to use them again or she will die.
It was late at night, Shi Yin didn't awaken. I inspected her and her injuries were already healed. Logically she should wake up soon, right? I will wait until tomorrow, if by that time she hasn't woken up I will carry her. Resting for too long will only delay me even more to reach the Shi family remains. I was really worried about Shi Yin at the moment.
I suddenly jumped up and got into a fighting stance, I could feel something approaching.

Shit! I got careless, the claw hit me again and sent me flying, I'm reaching my limit... The wolf could barely stand, it was covered in blood, yet it didn't fall. I was waiting patiently for the wolf to jump at me. It was time, the wolf couldn't endure it anymore and attacked me. I blocked his claw with my left arm. Crack! My arm broke, I didn't care, I jumped above the wolf’s head and punched through its eyehole.
“Die, you bastard!” I yelled while release everything bit of strength I had.

I fell to the floor, I almost died... If it wasn't for the intensity of my body and my poison I would be a goner. Sigh, I'm still too weak, actually. A King Beast of the 2nd rank is too much for me. Now I know I can kill a 1st rank King Beast. At least the fight was worth it, I have improved my Common Death bloodline. I have to do something about these injuries. I took several ointments and herbs from my inventory and tended to my injuries, I looked like a mummy right now.
I threw the king beast corpse inside my inventory, I hope there won't be any other beasts coming soon, I'm not in good shape to fight.
Morning came, Shi Yin woke up finally. I swear this girl has great lungs, she screamed the moment she woke up. I guess my current appearance was scary for a little girl. I could already move though, I guess my injuries were getting better.
“Shi Yin, do you know what happened to you?” I asked her.
“Sort of... it seems even though I'm linked to you the lifespan I had could be used for more things, unfortunately, I'm not in control. Ye Bai, I keep having this feeling that is urging me to reach the Shi family remains, but at the same time I have a dangerous feeling.” Shi Yin was talking with her head lowered, I could sense she was troubled by something. Maybe this time... It seemed to me as though something else had awakened inside her body.

We kept moving through the forest for almost one week, besides killing some beasts nothing much happened. I didn't want to move too much, so all the beasts were killed before they could reach us, with my arrowheads. During this week, I checked Shi Yin daily with Death End, yet her lifespan didn't grow at all, I still couldn't figure out the absorption rate for this girl. I could feel my injuries being healed, they didn't bother me anymore. It's time to remove all the bandages on my body, I thought as I searched for a clean area.
“They used to consider me a handsome boy, but with so many bandages right now I could scare someone to death.”
We took awhile to find a place to rest, after a few hours of looking we found a cave to rest. I went inside carefully, I checked if this cave was inhabited by some kind of beast. The last thing I want to do right now is engage in another bout of deadly combat.
After arranging Shi Yin a place to rest, I took care of my bandages. Truly it's a shame I don't have Shi Yin’s ability to heal. After my bandages were gone I checked my wounds... they didn't heal! The wound was still open, but the flesh was missing! My arm was still broken, in some parts of my body, I could clearly see the bones inside my body. The only change was that now it was not bleeding.
Chapter 31
Corpse
“What's happening, why didn't I heal? Look at my appearance... so ugly. I look like a... great. This is bullshit! I'm a fucking corpse now or what!! I remodeled my body, it was a human body, not this.” I thought frantically trying to come up with an explanation for my slow healing rate.
I couldn't believe my current appearance, I looked like a wretched corpse!
“System! I demand an explanation. You were the one that remodeled my body!!!” I yelled angrily at it, I didn't care at all if Shi Yin heard what I said or not.
Replying to the host, the host status is dead, so a dead body was formed.
“Why didn't you create a body from life!”
Impossible, the host soul is fused with the Death Core. The Death Core is fused with the body, even if the body has life the Death Core will consume it. Once the Death Core consumes the life inside the body, the body will become a corpse. Thus, the System avoided this step and directly made a corpse for the host.
I'm a zombie? What the hell! Not right, not right, I can feel pain, I can eat and taste things. I also need to sleep, so I'm not really a corpse.
I was lost in deep thought regarding my body—I was neither a living being neither a corpse. This was good and bad, there were good points and bad points racing through my head, my main issue was how to fix myself. I can't use the term heal now... hahaha I'm more like an object now. Sigh... this feels like when I was a ball...

Thinking about being a corpse is not that bad... I don't need to rest or sleep right? Zombies have unlimited energy... but then why did I get tired before fighting the wolf?

Replying to the host, even though you are a corpse your soul gets tired and needs to rest. Host thinks of himself as a human so he unconsciously has been limiting the potential of his corpse body. Due to the host having a strong soul it is possible to be without resting for a few weeks.
This is good then, I have to stop thinking that I'm human, that was in my previous life, in this life I am a weird existence of a corpse body. I need to maximize the potential of this body.
I sat cross-legged on the floor of the cave trying to think of all the benefits my corpse body could bring to me... NO! How didn't I think of this, my little brother! My virginity! I tried to wake up my little brother, but he wasn't moving! No no no no... this is wrong, it's not moving. I really wanted to cry.
