Death Awoken: A GameLit Series (Death God System - Book #1) Page 14

by Kajack

The middle-aged man had both of his legs perforated with my arrowheads and fell to the floor.

“You... how is that possible! What kind of monster are you...” The middle-aged man had a face full of disbelief, a 6-year-old kid as strong as a 2nd rank Qi Refining stage just took him down. Impossible.

I smiled at him while summoning my Mortal Soul Reaper Scythe; I could see on the middle-aged man’s face a trace of fear. I moved my scythe close to his arm, “So you are going to talk?” I could see him having doubts...

  Plop!

My scythe sliced through his arm like tofu.

“Arghhhhh stop it... I will talk! Just grant me a quick death, please!”

I nodded at him, allowing him to catch his breath to tell who hired him.

Finally the man talked, “It was Young Master Chen.”

“Who?” I was confused right now, who is he talking about?

“Erm. Young Master Chen the young man you punched...”

“Ah! I remember now, that piece of trash. So he does have a background after all...”

  Ding!

Killed Normal Human. Qi Refining stage, 1st rank. +300 XP.

  Death Core + 1.

  Death Points + 60.

Oh! He died already, the poison no wonder... his injuries combined with the poison destroyed the life inside of him faster than I thought. Too bad, I wanted to ask more questions regarding this young master who had hired him.

  Refining... Complete. Remaining bodies 2.

While walking, I kept thinking that something was wrong, maybe I was just overthinking things. I could see the library at the end of the street, it is important to improve my knowledge regarding beasts. Perhaps I can upgrade my trait; it will make things much easier when I have to encounter King Beasts.

I went inside the shop; I could see tons of books and an old man moving some books from the shelves. A small boy was reading a book in a corner, he seemed fascinated by what he was reading.

“Excuse me, are you the shop owner?” I asked politely.

The old man turned around to face me “What can I do for you young boy?”

“I'm looking for books regarding King Beasts, anything you may have.”

The old man was surprised by this, “So young, and already looking for this kind of knowledge. Young boy we have some books regarding this topic.” He took four books from the shelf.

“Thank you old man, how much is it?”

“Two low spirit stones,” said the old man with a calm voice.

“That much?!” I was surprised, I bought my slaves for twenty low spirit stones—they were Qi Refining stage cultivators, and yet a tenth of the value of human life is worth four books... “This is a little bit expensive, no?” I thought as the old man reached over and handed me the books.

The old man started laughing, “Young boy, you have to understand that the knowledge you are asking for is for cultivators at the Qi Refining stage, the knowledge in these books is collected by them, so it’s normal the value is paid in spirit stones.”

I had forgot that the normal currency is spirit stones, only mortals use gold. “Thank you old man,” I gave the old man two low spirit stones and went out of the shop.

  Chapter 38

  Surprise

It was late at night when I went into the room I booked at the INN. There I found Shu Yi and Shu Er sleeping on the bed wearing only their undergarments, showing their slender and alluring bodies, seriously! These two women... I jumped on the bed and sat cross-legged looking at them; after awhile I caressed their heads, their hair was nice and soothing to touch. “I'm sorry...” I muttered. I felt slightly bad for their slavery in that moment: they looked so innocent and fragile while they were sleeping.

Shu Yi and Shu Er weren't actually sleeping, in fact, they were trying to make a good impression on their new master. They wanted to show off again—their nice bodies to him and surprise him with their afternoon work they had completed making the INN feel like home. They would never have thought their devilish master had such a side, he actually treated them with care and even apologized when he believed himself to be wrong. Tears could be seen flowing out from the twins’ eyes as they lay. Their minds began to justify the situation, ...maybe it wasn't that bad to have him as their new master, both of them thought.

  ◆◆◆

Seriously it's morning already! What are these two women doing...?

“Pigs!” I exclaimed. Both women were drooling, hugging my tights and snoring, this was way too relaxed! I started to spank their round asses...

“What the hell did I take you in for! This is how you repay your master for being alive!”

  Pa! Pa! Pa! Pa!

I smacked their asses hard enough in case both of them didn’t wake up already.

“What kind of maids are you, doing nothing for your master in the morning but sleeping!”

  Pa! Pa! Pa! Pa!

“Sorry... uh... sorry master,” they exclaimed and moaned, their asses were totally red, and so were their shamed faces.

Oh, this feels pretty nice... I started to have perverted thoughts with both women, sadly I was interrupted...

“Master? Master?” Shu Yi said innocently... Shu Er kept quiet and smiled at him.

“What now! I was about to reach a new degree of comprehension in martial arts!” I could only put on the facade of a great expert and pretend... damn their tight round asses were absolutely perfect. Why the fuck did I kill the other seven women? I can't even begin to understand why I did that.

“Look Master,” Shu Yi took a treasure bag from their clothes.

I inspected the treasure bag containing 100 Qi Refining stage corpses! I jumped with joy! Great, with this... is like having healing potions, hahaha… I took two corpses out and immediately refined them.

  Refining... Complete. Body Repair Completed.

“Gross!” Exclaimed both women and started to turn pale, and their slender bodies slightly trembled, it seems they started to remember what happened yesterday.

“Ignorant women, this is a divine healing technique! Now be quiet and don't bother me I need to cultivate,” I snorted.

  “Master... We...”

“What now?! Spill it. I'm in a bad mood.”

The twins kneeled down, “Master we wish to use the low spirit stones to cultivate.”

“No problem, be sure to use them efficiently to advance your strength, otherwise I will spank your asses again,” I said smiling at them.

We all sat cross-legged on the bed, it was big enough to fit five people on it so we sat comfortably. I used Death Tempering, I could feel my body being refined and growing much stronger. Ever since I discovered that I was a corpse I learned how to turn off my pain sensory—now I cannot feel anything while tempering my body.

After a few hours of watching Shu Yi and Shu Er meditate on the spirit stones I had given them they were close to break through to the 4th rank of Qi, I could see them absorbing the heaven and earth energy contained in the low spirit stones. The stones turned to dust the moment the energy inside them was absorbed.

Body Cultivation: Mortal Realm, 8th rank (100/9,000)

  Death Points: 0

Good! Now I can properly fight with a 2nd rank Qi Refining stage. I need to find a way to earn tons of experience, if I could do that and upgrade my Scythe skill to the max my strength will double. It seems the four books I bought weren't enough to upgrade my Mortal Monster Hunter trait. I examined my skills and traits as I observed the girls closely. I could tell they were going to break through at any moment.

“Master! We broke through!” Both Shu Yi and Shu Er were happy. They had a radiant smile on their faces.

“Congratulations! Now you are more useful to me. Thinking about you two... what is your main attribute?”

I could see Shu Yi and Shu Er moved to the corners of the room and suddenly I saw that both of them had vanished. Darkness? A stealth skill. No wonder the System wanted me to purchase them! They quickly revealed themse
lves and smiled at me.

“Darkness—we cultivate with the Shadowless Qi manual. It's a high-grade qi cultivation manual for Darkness cultivators. One of the main functions of the manual allows the user to blend perfectly with darkness and hide their shadow. Since it's a higher-grade qi manual the speed of training is also fast, the more resources the better.”

They are quite the geniuses then after all. Twenty years old and 4th rank Qi Refining stage... For the time being, they are stronger than me so that's quite good. I think it’s a really good idea to allow them to progress even further, if I get enough resources. I will just need to kill more people that's all. Nevertheless, their manual is darkness and not death so it is useless to me: yet it's only a Qi manual. Later they will need a Core manual, I'm not sure about their talent…

“What about your talent?” I asked

I could see the twins lowering their heads, is their potential that bad?

“1-Red,” they said with a low voice.

Hearing that surprised me. They would have no problem in learning the core arts, so with a proper manual and few resources their talent should be enough to enter the Core Foundation stage. Why did they have this kind of reaction? This was all very interesting. I had never had the chance to determine someone else’s advancement like this. They got enough potential to be my followers…

“All right! That's not that bad. Now can you tell me where you found so many corpses?”

Shu Yi and Shu Er were surprised their master didn't blame them for their low potential! After all, they were twenty-year-olds and at the Qi Refining stage 4th rank but compared to the little monster in front of them that at six-years-old was already at the Mortal Realm 8th rank they were worlds apart.

“Master, the city lord dispatched one hundred Qi Refining cultivators to a strange cave outside the Moongate City. The one hundred cultivators entered the cave and died shortly after they exited. Yesterday the corpses were retrieved for study from where they died right in front of the cave. We found this information and as Master ordered before we stole all of the bodies for Master.” Shu Yi was proud of her actions as she pushed out her chest.

  Chapter 39

  Grandmaster

I never told them to steal... clearly, they just wanted to save the low spirit stones to train themselves. These women are too smart, they could be trying to leave me. Perhaps this cave still has some death aura remaining to absorb. I think it's worth taking a look at it.

“Do you know where the cave is located?”

“Yes, it takes roughly one week to reach,” Shu Er said.

It’s not so far away, I should finish all of my business in the city before heading to this strange cave. I won't be able to spend too much time exploring other areas. There are only one and a half years before the sect trials start at Imperial City, it will take roughly one year and three months to reach there.

“Shu Yi, Shu Er, help me get as many books about King Beasts as you can.” I said expecting their answer in unison, I was getting fond of hearing those charming voices at the same time.

  “Yes, Master,” replied both.

The weather was nice today, I could feel the sun bathing my body while strolling through the city. Some little girls around my age looked at me shyly. It’s tough to be handsome! Hahaha I can't wait to grow up… Thanks to my tempering I didn't look like a six-year-old kid at all, my physical height and appearance was that of an twelve-year-old. I was worried that having a corpse as a body, I will stop developing or something, but that was not the case—using Death Tempering makes me grow to the optimal point of maturity. While deliberating with the System, it explained that my body will reach the age of 25 years old, and after that my body will not age anymore. It was also explained that when the girls reached a certain cultivation level their bodies will stop aging as well unless they wanted to be older. Yet I didn't find any information regarding how they would accomplish this. In the future, it will be hard for me if I ever get a woman. They will keep growing older than me unless they enter this immortal stage of aging such as me.

I finally reached my destination for today, the proudest blacksmith shop in town. I heard they produce weapons with a high durability. My plan was easy, provoke them! Let's see if you can match my devourer scythe, hahaha!

Inside the shop there were a few customers looking at weapons placed on the walls, I could see they were mere mortal weapons. “Uh, no one is getting up to help me? Right, a weapon for a little young boy, hehe, you all will be scared very soon don’t you worry,” I thought as I spotted a worker passing by to ask for assistance.

“Hello, miss. I would like to check out a few weapons. I heard you guys are famous for the durability of your weapons,” I said laughing a little at this young girl. The misses attitude changed and she looked at me with contempt. Success. I knew she would react as such.

“What do you know young boy! Our shop weapons are all made by Grandmaster Bai! They are impossible to be broken by a weapon of the same level!”

Great! This miss is stupid, excellent job! I exclaimed to myself proudly.

“Oh, let's see it, the so-called impossible to be broken by a weapon of the same level...” I picked a mortal sword from the wall.

“Kid are you sure you can grab a sword, maybe it's too heavy for you! This is not a toy. Go home to your mommy!” The few customers that were there started to laugh, their faces changed when I successfully picked up the weapon.

I made one move with the sword and the Death Core crushed the sword to pieces as expected.

“What kind of so-called impossible to be broken by a weapon of the same level is this... I just swung the sword around and it broke into pieces, clearly this shop is full of defectives products.” I mocked the little miss. “I won't pay for this sword, it broke on its own.”

The misses face started to get ugly, “You did something to the sword!”

“I did what? You saw with your own eyes I just swung the sword—or are your eyes just for decorating your ugly face.”

“That's right the kid just swung the sword! Every one of us saw it,” replied a bystander.

“Yeah! You guys are selling defective products,” another customer chimed in.

“Darling, I don't want to buy here anymore. What if you swung the sword at a beast and it broke in the process, you could get hurt,” said a young man to a gorgeous lady standing next to him.

“Right, my husband, this shop sells fake weapons,” replied the woman.

The customers started to discuss and cause a commotion in the shop.

“Dear customers... please calm down, our products are not fake.” The miss was trying to relieve the situation but it was not effective.

“You are so proud of your fake weapons, you can't even make a proper mortal weapon! Last week I saw an old man walking out with a profound weapon. He was full of happiness thinking he got something great, I guess you cheated him selling a fake profound weapon also!” I laughed loudly. My words echoed throughout the shop.

An old man came walking in from a back room inside the shop.

“What's the matter?” said the old man frowning, he was looking at the broken sword on the floor.

“Grandmaster Bai!” The young miss approached the old man and started to explain everything that happened from the moment I went inside the shop. At every word the young miss said, Grandmaster Bai’s face was getting uglier.

“Impossible. I'm a 3-Stars blacksmith! My mortal weapon is perfect and unmatchable!” Blue veins could be seen on his face, he was really angry.

“You are calling me a liar? Pure trash! Grab the sword on the wall! Let's compare weapons!” I summoned my scythe.

“You want to compare my weapons with that low mortal weapon? Are you insulting me? Comparing a lame scythe with a mighty sword?”

“Don't you dare, Grandmaster Bai?!” I mocked him, knowing that I was going to crush him.

Grandmaster Bai picked a sword from the wall and swung the sword towards my scythe.
I moved my scythe in defense to cut his sword in half.

  Plop!

The top half of the sword fell to the ground, it was cut in half. The hilt and the small piece that remained of the cut sword was in Grandmaster Bai’s hand. Grandmaster Bai had a dumbfounded expression on his face. He had clearly picked the top mortal weapon in the shop and it was sliced in half by this scythe, it was as if his weapon was made of paper.

“So, this is the level of Grandmaster Bai’s weapons... Perhaps it is that only profound weapons can last a few rounds against my scythe, or could it be that Grandmaster Bai’s profound weapon reputation is what is really fake.”

  Chapter 40

  Crushing Grandmaster Bai

“Brat! Don't push your luck!” Grandmaster Bai went running to the back room then back inside the shop after a few seconds and came with another sword. “This is a low profound weapon. It's worth 1,000 spirit stones! You could never buy one of these. I will show you how your lowly Mortal Scythe gets broken to pieces!”

It was clear Grandmaster Bai was enraged, his prestigious reputation was slowly dissipating thanks to a little kid with a “stupid scythe.”

Grandmaster Bai swung his sword to meet my scythe, I was a little nervous, I had never tried my scythe to parry a profound weapon. Though I thought due to my devourer ability that my scythe was able to do so. Both weapons met, this time the sword didn't get cut in half—still a small crack could be seen on Grandmaster Bai’s sword.

I smirked proudly. My Soul Reaper Scythe is the best!
