Danny Lilker: After the breakup of Brutal Truth, reformed S.O.D. in 1999 and then reformed Nuclear Assault in 2002. Also plays bass in death metal project The Ravenous. Currently resides in Rochester, NY.

Tomas Lindberg: Immediately formed Hide, later to become The Great Deceiver, after the breakup of At the Gates in 1996. Has since also sung for The Crown, Disfear, Lock Up, and Nightrage.

J Mascis: Guitarist/vocalist disbanded successful rock band Dinosaur Jr in 1997 and formed similar new act J Mascis + the Fog.

Martin Nesbitt: Head of Point Blank Management, whose current roster includes Echoboy, among other acts.

Eva Nue: No longer works on Headbanger’s Ball, but still produces and develops many shows at MTV.

Matt Olivo: Moved from Flint, Michigan to Los Angeles, where he composes music for independent films. Plans to release material from new band Dejecta in 2004. Reformed Repulsion for a few live dates in 2003.

Ken Owen: Formed metal/rock band Blackstar with former Carcass members Jeff Walker and Carlos Regadas immediately after Carcass’ breakup. Suffered a near-fatal brain hemorrhage in February 1999 and spent the next several months in a coma, followed by a long and difficult rehabilitation. Since then, he has made a significant recovery and has actually begun walking and even playing drums again.

Trevor Peres: Formed death metal band Catastrophic in 1999 after the demise of Obituary. Released The Cleansing through Metal Blade Records in 2001. Surprsingly reformed Obituary with founding members John and Donald Tardy in early 2004.

Bill Steer: After the demise of Carcass, Steer formed Firebird, a new band inspired by the ’70s sounds of Cream, Free and Humble Pie. Currently resides in Paris.

David Vincent: Changed stage name to Evil D and joined Florida shock rockers the Genitorturers as bassist in late 1996.

Jeff Walker: Although Brazilian MTV reported he died during a surgical operation in the late 1990s, Walker is alive and well in Liverpool, England. Now, according to the man himself, he “splits his time between waiting for the phone to ring with offers he can’t refuse and hoping for a nü metal band to do a Carcass cover before the bubble bursts.”

Jim Welch: After leaving Columbia Records, Welch moved to Atlantic Records A&R from 1997 to 2000, then to Epic Records/Sony as Vice President of A&R from 2000 to 2003. He’s currently Vice President of A&R at Arista Records.

Jim Whiteley: Relocated from Birmingham to Cheltenham in 1990. Currently employed there as a postal worker.
