Wadjyt Goddess of kingship. Form of a cobra. Appeared on royal headdress next to the Nekhbet. Sometimes appeared as a human female with the head of a lioness surmounted by a cobra and sun disc.
Was sceptre Slender cane with a head similar in form to that of an ibex, at the other end a bifurcated base. As common an accompaniment of the Pharaoh and the gods as the ankh. In association with the ankh and djed pillar, a symbol of life, stability and power. Recently interpreted to be a representation of an extracted bull’s penis and may, on occasion, have been made from such.
Window of Appearances A specially prepared ‘balcony’ where the Pharaoh, with or without the royal family, would present himself to the public.
