Hey Kat, long time no hear. I know, I’ve been just as bad. Been on assignment covering that illegal alien scandal at the border. See you’ve been a busy girl too, I just saw the Gala coverage. Awesome! And let me tell you, James is one fine specimen of a man. Who would have thought? Anyway, get in touch soon! Love, Jackie, xoxo.

  “Everything okay?” James asked.

“Got a text from Jackie. I’ll have to get in touch when I’ve got a free moment,” she said, heading for the bathroom to shower.

  James rose. “Need any help?”

Kathryn glanced over her shoulder at him. Noticing the prominent bulge in his jeans, she grinned.

“Are we ever going to get to the office or will they have to send a search party?”

James rose and sauntered toward her, first removing his shirt, then his jeans. His swollen cock sprung toward her like a viper about to strike.

Kathryn’s eyes widened. “All the better to see you with, my dear,” she said.

James pulled her into his arms and deeply kissed her. Their bodies molded against each other, their tongues hungrily fencing as naked skin rubbed against naked skin. Kathryn gasped at the sensation of James’ cock rubbing against her pussy. Reaching down to her breasts, James’ tongue traced lazy circles around her engorged nipples. Kathryn moaned and pressed his head closer until her breasts filled his mouth. She felt his teeth gently nip her tender flesh, each nibble stoking a rising fever in her body.

Locked in an embrace, they waltzed toward the bathroom in a sensual dance. Pulling away, James smiled and moved toward a huge spa-tub and turned on the multiple taps. As warm water jetted out, he reached for an array of colored glass jars displayed on a nearby glass shelf. Selecting a one infused with silver swirls, he emptied citrus scented salts into the churning water. Within moments, the intoxicating aroma of lemon and lime infused the bathroom.

Kathryn inhaled the delicious fragrance and instantly felt the tension release from her body. James reached for her and guided her into the tub until they sat chest deep on a series of broad, curved steps. When the water level rose above the level of the jets, he switched them on. Vigorously churning water swirled around them, and like giggling children, they splashed and dunked each other.

James emerged from the bubbling water and pulled Kathryn toward the steps, then lifted her onto his lap. She wrapped her legs around his waist and opened herself to his urgently probing cock. James reached into the water and teased her engorged lips with his fingers, stroking and separating them until her clit protruded like a bullet.

“You like that?” James murmured against her ear, his teeth gently nipping her lobe.

“Oh, yes,” Kathryn whimpered, her nails digging into his flesh.

He guided his cock in between her pouting lips. The pressure of his flesh against her sensitized clit hovered between excruciating and ecstasy. Kathryn ground herself against James’ cock, the turbulence of the warm, bubbling water increasing the pleasurable friction. Pressed tightly against each other, James lifted her hips and impaled her until the head of his cock brushed against her womb.

Rocking together in a slow, sensual rhythm, their hands caressed and explored each other, arousing each other’s senses to a point, then holding back to prolong the unbearably mounting tension aching for release. James planted his hands on Kathryn’s hips, driving her relentlessly harder. Her eyes were closed, her breathing ragged, and the hair he loved so much to twirl in his fingers a fragrant mass of tangled curls.

James gradually increased his momentum until the water sloshed against the sides of the tub. He noted the myriad of emotions playing across Kathryn’s face and studied them the way an artist would regard a canvas in progress. One of his hands drifted from her hips, his fingers trailing along the taut flesh of her thighs.

James stopped her cries with his mouth, his tongue probing her as deeply as his fingers and cock. Feeling weak from the sensual assault on her body, Kathryn’s fingers barely contained the strength to grip James’ back. She merely hung on, an overwhelmed swimmer clinging to buoy. The mounting pressure surging from her core transformed into an explosive orgasm that wracked her body so fiercely that her feral cries echoed throughout the bathroom.

A moment later, James tensed up, his embrace almost suffocating Kathryn as he cried out almost in pain and jerked in a frenzied orgasm that toppled them into the water. Gurgling and gasping, they emerged laughing from the water.

James hurried to turn off the jets and open the drain before the violently churning water sloshed over the tub and flooded the marble floor. Kathryn waded to the steps and collapsed against them.

“You really know how to come,” she said. “You literally knocked me off my feet.”

James grinned at her disheveled appearance.

“Venus rising from the half shell, maybe not,” he said. “Cat just given a bath, maybe.”

“You’re not looking so James Bond yourself right now,” Kathryn responded.

“I take offense to that,” he said, “considering you’ve been very well shaken, not stirred.”

They laughed companionably and stepped from the draining tub. James grabbed a large fluffy pewter gray towel from a nearby glass shelf and began to sensuously rub Kathryn dry.

“That feels good,” she said, closing her eyes. “Maybe being the freshly bathed cat isn’t so bad after all.”

When he stopped, Kathryn opened her eyes.

  “I was enjoying that.”

James smiled and held the towel out to her.

“A little too much,” he said. “It’s my turn now.”

Taking the towel from James, she began to dry him off with long, firm strokes, paying special attention to his ass. His cock sprung to attention.

“Turn around,” he ordered, lightly smacking Kathryn’s ass until she complied.

James knelt on the towel behind her and worked the cum dribbling from her pussy onto his fingers. Smearing it onto his cock, he gripped Kathryn’s hips and guided his cock toward her asshole. Slowly, tauntingly, he caressed her twitching hole with his engorged head, circling and tapping it before pushing it deep inside her.

Kathryn cried out and clawed at the marble tile while James’ simultaneously drove into her ass, rubbed her painfully swollen clit and slipped his fingers in and out of her juice-slicked pussy. The deeper James slid his cock into her ass, the more Kathryn bucked against him. Exhausted, the freshness she had felt after her soak in the tub was giving away to the sensation of sweat-slicked flesh, her moans began to resemble that of a mating cat.

Once again she felt disembodied, the intensity of her emotions and the physical response elicited by James separating her conscious mind from reality. Thirsty and lightheaded, the pressure of her mounting orgasm surged like a tidal wave before she erupted into a screaming climax.

Gripping her hips until his fingers left indentations in her flesh, James gave a final, shuddering thrust before he uttered a garbled cry and collapsed on top of Kathryn. Entwined, their hands locked together, they lay gasping in a stupor like beached fish. Kathryn tried to move, tried to coordinate her thoughts, but surrendered to the lassitude invading her body. Every pore, every nerve ached as though each had been penetrated by James.

James rest his head on her chest and closed his eyes, his heartbeat a staccato gallop that by now Kathryn had become used to hearing. It was more than a comforting sound, it was the sound of a physical and spiritual connection that left her beyond fulfilled.

He looked at her and smiled.

“Now we’re going to have to take a shower to cool off,” he said.

Kathryn laughed. “I’m going to get wrinkled fingertips if we stay wet much longer.”

“Oh, but I like being wet,” James said, “and apparently, so do you.”

James pulled her into a tender kiss.

“At least these lips aren’t throbbing,” Kathryn said. “Everything else certainly is.”

James grinned wickedly. “Hmmm ... didn’t think I mi
ssed a spot. I may be forced to remedy that.”

Kathryn placed her fingers protectively on her lips.

“Down boy. I can’t be going to the office looking like I double as a porn star.” She giggled. “Though you certainly seem to have the stamina for the job.”

James cocked an eyebrow. “It could always be a second job,” he said, his hands starting to roam her body. “I’ve always believed in exploring your talents to the fullest.”

Kathryn wriggled from his grip and got to her feet. She grimaced when she caught her reflection in the seemingly endless banks of mirrors and noticed James’ amused expression.

“You can talk,” she said, running her fingers through her hopelessly tangled hair. “II think we’ve both got our work cut out for us.”

James rose and sauntered toward the huge, glass enclosed marble shower. Stepping inside, he turned on multiple heads that produced a variety of flows. Casting a sly smile toward Kathryn, he pumped a handful of gel from one of several dispensers and began to slowly lather his body.

Kathryn watched him soap up his ass, his fingers trailing inside his cleft.

“You really don’t know when to quit,” she said with a shake of her head.

“I blame you,” he said. “Now I’ve kind of gotten a taste for it.”

Laughing, Kathryn approached the shower and joined him under the refreshing sprays spouting lukewarm water with different strengths and patterns. Together, they lathered and rinsed each other.

“This time, it’s showering only,” Kathryn said, reaching for a shampoo dispenser. “For real. Otherwise we’ll be getting to the office in time for lunch. I can only imagine what your father must think.”

“No doubt that I’m a very lucky guy,” James said, playfully smacked her ass with a soapy hand. “God I love that ass.”

He smacked it again, this time allowing his fingers to tease her cleft.

Kathryn giggled and retreated to the opposite end of the spacious shower. “Are you going to behave?”

  James grinned. “Never.”

  Chapter Eight

Maneuvering through the bottleneck caused by a broken water main, James tapped impatiently on the steering wheel while they crawled through the traffic struggled to navigate down the flooded street of the downtown core. Beyond the solid mass of idling traffic, the lights of emergency vehicles flashed about a block ahead. Pedestrians and cyclists darting through the standstill added to the confusion.

Kathryn sighed and glanced at the dashboard clock, dismally watching another minute flash by.

“Water for water,” she quipped, glancing at James with mock accusation. “Guess this is our punishment for leaving so late, Mr. Clean.”

James grinned. “Yes, seems to be quite a wet morning, doesn’t it? Not to worry. I already texted Dad. He was tied up at a meeting so he’s running late as well.”

Kathryn gazed out the window at vehicles struggling to turn into side roads while pedestrians dodged puddles. Horns blared, and the general chaos was more akin to the gridlock of Los Angeles rather than Portland. She was about to call Sandra when she happened to glance in the side mirror. Three vehicles behind them, a black car with dark tinted windows nudged close to the curb. At first she thought nothing of it but something about the motion of the car disturbed her. The windows were dark, too dark, and the virtually opaque front window was surely illegal.

“Something wrong?” James asked, noticing her scrutiny of the mirror.

“James, I think someone’s following us.”

“Where?” he said, craning his neck to look around.

“Check your mirrors. Black car with illegally tinted windows.”

James checked his mirrors but shook his head.

“Can’t see it. Can you make anything out?”

“No, and that’s what worries me. They keep weaving in and out, like they’re trying to keep tabs on us.”

“Call Sandra, tell her to alert Sam and Dad. Can you see anyone? Plate number?”

“No,” Kathryn said, speed dialing the office. A moment later, Sandra answered.

  “Kathryn Denton’s office.”

  “Sandra, it’s Kathryn.”

“Well, hello, stranger,” Sandra said. “Hard to believe it’s only been a couple of days.”

“I know,” Kathryn said. “We’ll have to catch up later, Sandra. Let Sam know that someone may be following us. Black car, tinted windows. Broken water main’s got us stuck downtown in traffic.”

“Hold on while I call Sam on another line,” Sandra said, briefly putting Kathryn on hold. She returned to the line a few moments later. “He’s going to call you now. Frank’s still tied up, but I’ll let him know what’s going on. You still coming in?”

Kathryn glanced uneasily at the black car, but an SUV in front of it blocked most of the view.

“We’re trying to.” A number appeared on her phone.

“That’s Sam calling,” Kathryn said. “Catch you later.”

She disconnected and answered Sam’s call.

“Sam,” she said, putting the phone on speaker.

  “You guys okay?”

  “Someone’s tailing us,” James said.

“Anything other than a black car with tinted windows?”

“I can’t make out the plate,” Kathryn said,” but it keeps drifting toward the curb as if trying to keep sight of us.”

“You only just noticed the car?”

  Kathryn glanced at James.

“I didn’t notice anyone following us after we left my place,” he said, “but once we got into the traffic they could have come from anywhere.”

“Well, it’s unlikely I’ll be able to get anyone over there,” Sam said. “That main’s going to be tying up things for a while. Are there any approaching streets you can turn onto?”

“We’re pretty jammed here, Sam,” James said. “How about driving into a parking lot?”

“Not a good idea. You don’t want to be backed into a dead end.”

Kathryn frowned and cast James a worried look. What the hell had they been dragged into?

“Kathryn,” Sam said, “take a picture of the car and and email it. I’ll call you back when I’ve taken a look.”

Kathryn hung up and carefully extended her phone out the window. From the angle displayed in the side mirror, there wasn’t much to see of the black car, but she took three photos and quickly ducked back inside.

  “Let me see,” James said.

  Kathryn scrolled through the photos.

“Hmmm,” James said. “Could be a BMW.”

  “How can you tell?”

  “Shape of the headlights.”

Sam called back as she tried to inspect the headlights in the photo.

“Sam?” she said as she answered, “James thinks it could be a BMW.”

“It is,” Sam said. “Late model, no more than one to two years old. Windows are definitely illegal.”

“How about nailing them for that?” James asked.

“I could phone in the tip,” Sam said, “but if it’s not a tail we’re creating unnecessary problems. Let’s keep option that in our back pocket for now.”

“What do we do now?” Kathryn asked.

“Just play it cool. They won’t try anything with so many people around. Keep driving. We’ll know more when traffic frees up and you have a chance to lose them.”

Kathryn sighed. Now she really was starting to feel like a character in a spy movie. She glanced at the side mirror, hoping she wouldn’t see the black car suddenly mount the curb and come careening after them.

“Don’t worry, Kathryn,” Sam said, as though reading her thoughts. “I’m going to make a call and see if some friends in the force can pull the car over for illegal tinting.”

Kathryn glanced into the side mirror hoping to catch even the tiniest glimpse of a face or something recognizable, but the windshield was too opaque.

“Okay, Sam, thanks,” James said. “Keep us posted.”

  “
Will do,” he said, hanging up.

Kathryn looked at James with more than worry in her eyes.

“What do you think we should do?”

Even as she spoke, the traffic started to move. Glancing out the window, Kathryn noticed the water had stopped flowing down the street and that the emergency vehicles were now filtering away from the area. She sighed with relief.

“We’re moving,” James said. “Let’s just keep an eye on them for now.”

Easier said than done, Kathryn thought, her eyes constantly fixed on the side mirror.

As traffic began flowing more normally, she waited to see what would happen as they approached a major intersection. Ahead, the light turned yellow. With two cars still ahead of them, Kathryn expected James to stop, but instead of slowing down, he gunned through the red light, swerving past approaching cars to the sound of blaring horns and screeching brakes.

  “James!” Kathryn cried. “Watch out!”

She gripped the armrest as a pickup skidded to a stop within a few feet of her side of the car. The driver, a burly older man, kept his hand on the horn in time with a stream of curses shouted from his open window.

Nonplussed, James continued driving. Kathryn looked into the side mirror to see the black car stopped past the crosswalk, trying to turn right against the congested traffic. She turned around to get a better look, but her view was blocked by a passing bus.

  “See anything?” James asked.

“Nothing, but it could have been a BMW. I thought I saw a hood logo.” She shook her head. “My God, James, if they’d followed us through the light...”

James reached out and squeezed Kathryn’s hand. “Don’t worry. Sam’s got our backs.”

They were comforting words, but doubts still lingered in Kathryn’s mind, and now every black car she saw only fueled her anxiety. Spotting the Manticorp building rising ahead, she tried to focus on the busy day ahead, but her eyes kept sliding toward the side mirror.
