“Why?” she whispered as she kissed his chest.

“I just want to make love to you.”

Make love… not fuck, she thought as she covered his lips with her own. “I want you too,” she breathed into his lips as she tingled with his words.

He rolled her slowly onto her back and seductively kissed the swell of her breasts and her neck. As he positioned himself she took his hardness in her hand and guided him into her. She exhaled softly when he slowly parted her lips and pushed gently into her. They kissed, slowly, gently, erotically, until he began to move.

They moved slowly together and their quiet gasps of pleasure were barely audible over the thrum of the air conditioner. His gentle pace made her float on a sea of pleasure... This is truly making love, she thought as another soft gasp escaped her. She had never felt like this before— of making love for more than just a means to reach an orgasm.

He pushed up onto his hands and drove himself in deep with another soft gasp of pure pleasure before he arched his back enough to bring his lips to hers. As he pulled back from the kiss he looked into her eyes and was almost overwhelmed with the need to tell her of the love he was beginning to feel for her, but he held his tongue, unsure of his own feelings and what they meant. He needed some time… time to discover if the way he felt about her was truly for her or was she somehow functioning as a twisted replacement for what he had lost.

She looked into Jack’s eyes as he pulled back from their kiss and she swam in their depths. He didn’t move as they gazed into each other’s eyes until he smiled again and brought his lips to hers once more. She pulled him into the kiss and held him there as their tongues slowly caressed one another. He broke the kiss after a moment and slowly drove into her again as he held her eyes and time slowed to a stop around them.

Jack lowered himself lightly to her and her lips began to kiss his neck. Without changing the tempo of his thrusts, he slipped his hands under her shoulders and held her snuggly to him as he rolled to his back. When they came to rest he adjusted his hold as he placed a hand on her head and another on her back to hold her in place as he began to thrust into her with renewed purpose.

She allowed him to hold her without protest. His embrace made her feel safe as she listened to the thudding of his heart and the roar of his breath. She smiled and her eyes drifted closed as she was enveloped in pure bliss.

“I’m going to come,” he murmured as his tempo began to increase.

“So am I,” she whispered, then turned her head enough to kiss his chest.

  “Come with me…”

  “Yes…”

He pistoned into her harder as the speed and power of this thrusts increased twofold. “I’m going to come,” he repeated as he began to push back against his orgasm, not wanting to finish too soon.

She didn’t answer as she teetered on the edge of orgasm… then tipped and fell into her release with a whimper and soft shudder.

When Tina shuddered Jack relaxed his hold on his own orgasm and tumbled into his own climax a moment later with a grunt as he held himself deep within her.

She lay still and basked in the warmth of his embrace as she enjoyed the swell of his hardness still inside of her. Her orgasm wasn’t anywhere near as hard as some Jack had given her, but it fulfilled her like no other. She sighed as her eyes closed and a smile touched her lips.

  “What?” he asked

  “Nothing. I’m just… content.”

He kissed gently on her forehead.

  “Jack?” she said softly

  “Yes?”

  “Thank you.”

  “For what?”

“For taking me in. For giving me a second chance.” She paused. “For trusting me.”

“Everyone deserves a second chance, Tina. I told you that before.”

“I know. But I still wanted to thank you. You have been…” she began, before she choked up with emotion. “You have been so good to me…” she said as she struggled to control her tears. “... and I will never forget you.”

“Shhh…” he said softly as he tightened his embrace ever so slightly. “Don’t cry.”

“I don’t understand why you did it—why you cared.”

“I don’t either,” he finally admitted. “But I’m glad I did.”

  “Are you?”

“Yes. Very glad,” he said as he felt a tear drop onto his chest. “Shhh… Tina. Don’t cry.”

She sniffed wetly and then gasped out a weak laugh. “I don’t even know why I’m crying. I think it’s because I’m happy.”

Her head bounced gently has he chuckled. “I certainly hope it isn’t because you are sad.”

“No. Definitely not sad,” she said as another small smile replaced her tears.

“Good,” he said as he rolled over, coming to rest lightly on her. He looked into her eyes, bright even in the dim light of the room, and he brought his lips gently to hers once more. “I never want to make you sad,” he said quietly before his lips took hers.

“Then stay with me,” she murmured as he pulled back from the kiss. “Don’t talk about turning yourself in until there is no other way. You will figure something out. I know you will.”

He continued to gaze into eyes. “Okay. No more talk of turning myself in.”

“Thank you, Jack,” she said. She smiled softly and pulled him to her once more as her legs went around his hips to hold him inside of her.

He kissed her slowly on the neck, then began to thrust into her in an easy, pleasurable movement that made her gasp. He smiled into her neck and slowly picked up the pace of his thrusts as they made love long into the night.

  CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

“No…” Tina mumbled as Jack tried to disentangle himself from her arms and the mess that was the bed. They had made love until well past midnight and Tina had given him two orgasms before they fell asleep in each other’s arms. She had then awoken him the dark early morning hours so they could make love again. Last night their love making was slow and gentle, but that morning it had been much more energetic and they had fallen back asleep sweat-soaked and exhausted.

He stopped moving for a moment and she sighed as she snuggled in close again, but then he tried to slip from her embrace again. As much as he would love to stay in bed with her he had to pee in the worst possible way.

“Stay with me,” she mumbled again as he slipped from her embrace.

“It’s almost ten. We need to get up.”

“Why?” she murmured. “We’ve got nowhere to go.”

“I have to go… go pee.”

Tina lay still, her only movement a quirking of her lips. She was unbelievably comfortable and relaxed… and not just from having Jack fuck her stupid, either. For the last few days she had felt their relationship was changing, but last night confirmed it. She was falling to Jack, and falling hard. The realization scared her a little because she didn’t know if Jack felt the same way. She wondered if maybe she should get out now, before she got in too deep. But she knew she wasn’t going anywhere. Not yet. Not unit she found out if Jack had any feelings for her. She smiled as she lay on the bed, her eyes still closed, basking in the glow of blooming love. Dammit… now I have to pee, she thought as she heard Jack relieve himself in the bathroom.

When she heard the shower start she sighed deeply and hauled her sorry carcass out of the bed. It was ten sharp when she finally staggered to her feet with a yawn. She stretched and scratched as she made her way into the small bathroom. Jack was just yanking the shower curtain closed as she entered and she smiled. She was fucked out at the moment, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t joining him in the shower as soon as she was done relieving herself.

  ***

“What about him?” Jack asked as they ate lunch in a McDonalds built to look like a flying saucer.

“Maybe, but I think the weight is too far off.”

“Maybe I started working out since the driver’s license was issued,” he suggested.

  “Maybe. But you’re
just bigger than him. He’s the best candidate so far but we’ve only been looking for an hour.”

  “You’re hard to please, woman.”

“You did pretty good last night and again this morning,” she said softly, then giggled.

“That’s good to know, because you damn near killed me this morning.”

She discreetly ran a hand along the inside of his thigh. “Wait until tonight then,” she whispered then burst into giggles again. Holy shit… I’m turning into a giggling school girl! she thought as she choked off the laughter. She couldn’t remember the last time she felt so… alive!

Jack watched Tina as she got her giggles under control. She seemed so vibrant now compared to the Eeyore he took in a couple of weeks ago. It’s like the sun had come out in her world. He smiled at her, amazed at the change in her. She just needed someone to believe in her and he was glad that he could be that someone.

“Let’s walk,” he said as he gathered their trash.

As they stepped out onto the walk, their hands joined by instinct and they both smiled to themselves. They browsed shops and looked at free exhibits, but didn’t buy anything or indulge in any attraction that required payment to conserve what cash they had. They kept a careful eye on faces and spotted one or two more possibilities, but none of them matched close enough to make taking their ID worth the risk.

They were looking at some alien-shaped balloons when music started playing in Jack’s pocket. “Jack,” he said after he retrieved the cell.

“Jack! It’s Seth! Are you and Tina okay? Where are you?”

Jack pulled Tina to a stop and looked for a quiet place where he could talk. “We’re doing as well as can be expected, I guess. We’re still in Roswell. Did Marshall tell you our situation?”

“Yeah. Just a few minutes ago. Any idea who tipped the cops?”

“No,” Jack said as he pulled on Tina to start her walking again. There was no good place to talk privately so he would just have to be careful what he said.

“I know he is your friend and all, but are you sure it wasn’t Marshall?”

Jack chuckled. “He said the same thing about you.”

“Me?” Seth exclaimed. “I wouldn’t do that, Jack!”

“I know, Seth. It was probably just one of those things. It was bound to happen sooner or later.”

“You need to come in. We’ll hide you so you aren’t out there all alone. I can get your hog into the shop, and—”

“Thanks for the offer, but we’re doing fine for the moment and I don’t want to put anyone else at risk,” Jack said, interrupting.

Seth was quiet for a moment. “I understand. Do you need money? I can have Greg—”

“No. Not right now,” Jack interrupted again. “Any contact with us just puts us in more danger. So long as we stay under the radar we should be okay.”

Seth fumed. Jack was blocking him at every turn. “Okay. We’ll do it your way. But you can depend on us, Jack. The Sons, we take care of our own.”

“I know, Seth. I may have to take you up on your offers after I get the Knucklehead out of the shop, but for now I just want to sit tight and see what happens. Now that they have the cars, maybe the excitement will die down a little.”

“Maybe. And nobody knows you’re in Roswell?”

“Nobody but you and Marshall. We are staying under an assumed name and paying for everything with cash.”

  “Assumed name? What name?”

Jack felt his face wrinkle. Why would he want to know that? he wondered.

“Never mind. Better nobody knows,” Seth said after a moment. “Listen, I have to go. But if you need anything, you call me. Keep me in the loop on this and we will do everything we can to help. We’re all in this together.”

“Yeah, well, I’m not going to let anyone else take the fall for this,” Jack said as he gave Tina’s hand a gentle squeeze.

“You’re not going to turn yourself in are you?”

“Not unless I have to. Not until the cops start sniffing around too much. I’m not looking forward to going to prison so I am going to avoid it as long as possible,” he said as he smiled at Tina.

“I don’t blame you. Okay. I’ll check in on you in a day or two.”

  “Thanks, Seth. I appreciate it.”

“Take care,” Seth said before he cut the connection.

“I wish Marshall hadn’t told Seth where we were,” Tina said quietly.

  “Why?”

“Because that way if the cops show up, and we do get away again, we would know which one tipped the cops.”

“I don’t think it was one of them. They wouldn’t do that to us.”

  “I hope you’re right, Jack. I hope you’re right.”

  ***

They wandered around Roswell, and the more they walked, the more uptight Tina became. Something told her they needed to move, and now that Seth and Marshall knew their location, they were in danger. Jack seemed perfectly at ease, but the feeling of danger grew as the hours passed.

“Tina… what’s wrong?” Jack asked after picking up on her unease.

“Nothing. I just wish we hadn’t called Marshall. The last time you three were the only ones to know something, the cops found us.”

“I know. And if the cops find us again, we’ll know it was one of them.”

  “But which one?”

“Doesn’t matter. I can’t believe it would be either one of them, but I would wash my hands of them both.”

  “It has to be Seth.”

“Why do you say that? It could just as easily be Marshall.”

“You’ve known Marshall since you were kids, right? He wouldn’t do that to you, would he?”

“No. I don’t think so. But I can’t see Seth doing it either. He’s done a lot of good things for the Sons. He’s probably been the best President we’ve had. Why would he sell us out?”

“I don’t know!” Tina clenched her fists, then forced them to relax. Loyalty was a good thing, but not blind loyalty. “But it had to be one of them!”

“We don’t know that. The only thing they know is we are in Roswell. This is pretty big place with a lot of tourists. We won’t be easy to find. Just relax, okay? We’re good, right?” he asked as he flicked a finger back and forth between them.

  “Yeah. We’re good,” she sighed.

Jack didn’t think she sounded convinced. “Look… we’ll get the bike fixed tomorrow and then we can head back to Carlsbad as we planned, okay? It’s going to be okay, Tina.”

“Yeah… okay. I’m sorry. I’m just jumping at shadows I guess.”

He grinned. “Better to jump at the shadows than to get eaten by the bear.” He got a smile in return. He thought it looked a little strained, but at least it was something.

  ***

They spent the rest of the afternoon walking before they enjoyed dinner at a quirky place name Farley's. What had caught their attention was the array of motorcycles parked out front and the wait staff scurrying around serving the outdoor tables wearing shirts with a big F.U. emblazoned on them. As they entered the pub they could see that under the F.U. were the words Farley’s University, Roswell Campus in much smaller type.

As they ate Jack spotted a woman that could pass for Tina’s sister eating with her family at a nearby table. A nudge and a nod in her direction caused Tina to smile and nod in reply. They had their mark… until the woman stood up. She had to be at least four inches taller than Tina’s 5’3. Pursing her lips in annoyance, Tina, who had started to rise with the woman, returned to her seat.

“Maybe we could get you fitted with stilts,” he suggested.

Tina made a “ha, ha, ha” face at him before she flipped him the finger, but she was grinning as she sat down.

Even though they saw several possibilities throughout the day, none were a close enough match for Tina to lift anyone’s wallet. The few people they saw they might pass for invariably had the wrong body type, and those that had the right body type didn’t look anything
like them.

After their meal they walked back to their room. Tina leaned in close with her arm wrapped through his as they enjoyed the rapidly cooling night air.

“I’m beat,” Tina said as she threw herself dramatically on the bed.

Jack sat down on the end of the bed, pulled off her shoes and socks, and began to massage her feet.

“Oh god, that feels good,” Tina sighed as he worked her feet.

He had heard that women liked having their feet rubbed, but he had never tried it on anyone before. “You like it?”
