Reunion Page 12

by Neve Wilder

I nosed the car into a parking spot in the garage beneath our apartment, then got out and opened the door for Cole. The corners of his lips tipped up as I extended my hand to him. “What’s that look for?”

“Remember when I broke my ankle junior year?” Cole slid his hand into mine. “And you brought me every video game you had from home and texted me five billion times a day to make sure I was doing everything the doctor said.”

“I went a little overboard,” I agreed. I’d worried about Cole incessantly because he’d been nervous he’d miss too much school and frustrated over the early end to his soccer season after he’d practiced all summer to get better.

I slammed the door behind him and clicked my key fob to lock it, then turned to head toward the elevators. But Cole didn’t move. The pressure of his grip on my hand swiveled me back around to face him.

“I liked it then, and I like it now.” He stepped closer, running the tip of his nose along my collarbone. “How you’re always considering me, always thinking about what I might want or need. I don’t think I’ve ever really had that with anyone else before. But I’m glad it’s you.”

My breath caught in my chest as Cole tipped his chin up and met my eyes. It still blew my mind that I got to look into those baby blues as often as I wanted now, and there was never a day I took it for granted. I ran a thumb over his cheekbone, and Cole’s expression softened for just a moment before he brushed his lips over mine and asked in a too sweet voice, “Would you like your handkerchief back now?”

Caught between wanting to laugh and wanting to throttle him, I kissed him again, instead, then snatched my handkerchief back and jerked my head toward the elevators. “Get inside, you brat. I’ve got devious plans.”

He grinned. “Is it going to be a long night?”

“Very.” I assured him, knowing that in the morning that followed, there would be Cole wrapped around me, croissants from Chester’s, the promise of a lazy Sunday ahead of us. And, inside the filter basket of the Mr. Coffee machine, which he still bitched about constantly, a platinum band awaiting him.

“Our greatest hit is a love song I wrote for my bandmate. And he has no idea.”

Two rockers, a handful of secrets, and a publicity nightmare tossed in a remote cabin. Shaken and stirred with snark, angst, and a shit ton of sexual tension. Kaboom, y'all. A friends-to-lovers rockstar romance.

This needs to go right to the top of your TBR pile. It is MAGIC. If friends to lovers is AT ALL your thing, then look no further. This is the best one I've ever read. The characters are magnetic throughout and the story progresses in a wonderfully meaningful (and sometimes rocky) way. Ends with a HEA that is so, so satisfying.

Two roommates. One calculus exam. A whole lot of extracurricular activity.

“Ever since my roommate Eric busted me taking care of some personal business, I can’t get him off my mind. I've always identified as straight, but the way we veer off topic when we're studying has me rethinking everything.”

Super steamy NA romance. A brilliant and enthralling read. The combination of heat and angst is absolutely deliciously done. The pull between Eric and Nate is of epic proportions and it seems as if every time they give into it, the flames roar even higher. This is without a doubt one of the steamiest, hottest stories I’ve ever read. —Amazon review

An age gap, boss/employee romance featuring record-store owner, fallen music god, and resident grumpy pants, Daniel Grim, and his employee Owen Harper: quirky snarker, hopeful composer, earth-dwelling sunbeam.

"Neve Wilder has done it again, but even better! I am so infatuated with this story and these characters. Owen and Dan have taken the top of my favorite couples this year! Their quirky back and forth, the endearing way they care for each other and love each other. Everything about this book was excellence from start to finish! If you like music, if you like the older somewhat jaded and kinda Grumpy MC and the sweet, lovable and quirky younger man, then this is your jam!”—WickedGoodReads

  About Neve Wilder

Neve Wilder lives in the South, where the summers are hot and the winters are...sometimes cold.

She reads promiscuously, across multiple genres, but her favorite stories always contain an element of romance. Incidentally, this is also what she likes to write. Slow-burners with delicious tension? Yes. Whiplash-inducing page-turners, also yes. Down and dirty scorchers? Yes. And every flavor in between.

She believes David Bowie was the sexiest musician to ever live, and she's always game to nerd out on anything from music to writing.

And finally, she believes that love conquers all. Except the heat index in July. Nothing can conquer that bastard.
