Sooner or later I was going to get her right back.
Chapter 10
April
A few days later…
I rode the metro down to West Hollywood where Paul’s condo was. Today was the day I’d be going to this “fancy medical gathering” that he invited me to. Truthfully, I was a little nervous. I had no idea how those elite doctors and their wives would react to a nobody like me being there.
Despite that, I had that this feeling of pride knowing that I was the woman the world’s best cardiac surgeon chose to be seen with. What did it matter if they didn’t know who I was?
Only problem was…how exactly was I gonna look the part? Paul said he’d take care of me and I guess I’d just have to rely on that.
The bus stopped off Sunset Boulevard and I walked into the condo, unlocking the door with the key Paul made for me.
It was dead silent when I got in.
“Dylan must be with his grandma…” I mumbled to myself while I trying to hold in my excitement. Paul did mention that he dropped Dylan there when he had big events to go to.
Being in the condo when it was bright and filled with sunlight gave me an entirely different feeling. The furniture and fixtures were elegant and meticulously placed, almost compulsively so.
Everything was spotless.
I walked into the kitchen and saw a note on the granite countertop along with a bottle of chardonnay and a bouquet of tulips.
I have to admit, this was all pretty odd. Here I was being pampered my rich Surgeon Professor. And for what?!
I could not wrap my mind around Paul’s thoughts. He was godly handsome, charming, surprisingly humble for a man of his stature and he was choosing to spend his social capital on me.
Pinch me. Please.
The note was written in a bold blue ink and just screamed to be read. I obliged.
April,
Sorry for being AWOL today but you probably figured that this dinner has got my hands pretty damn tied up. If you go into my suite and look inside the wardrobe, you’ll see I hung a little something for you to wear tonight. I also left a present for you on my desk. Hope you like it, and see you soon.
This can’t be real.
Like, I have to be dreaming…right?
I held my hand to my mouth in shock. I’d known Paul for a little while now and we already moved past so many bases but I still couldn’t imagine why he would be treating me like Cinderella. For what, being his son’s babysitter?
Maybe there was something more between us.
It took me a second to gather myself and when I did I walked over to Paul’s suite and the wardrobe to grab what was mentioned in the note. The sound of glass clinking on the desk across from the wardrobe startled me.
The white leather office chair swiveled around.
It was a woman with long brunette hair. Heavy eyeliner and red lipstick.
I’ve never seen her before today.
“Well hello there. You must be April. Dylan’s new babysitter?” She rose from the chair and walked over to the tulips Paul must have left for me, sitting on the bar in the suite.
“Don’t worry about these. They weren’t intended for you.” She leaned in taking a whiff of the beautiful flowers and slid them closer to herself. “This is though.” She threw an envelope at me and I caught it before it hit the floor.
Who the hell was this chick and why the hell was she throwing things at me in Paul’s house? How did she even get in here??
“Listen ‘April’. I just want to make it known that I really don’t care what you think you’re doing with Paul. You might be his little plaything now and that’s fine, but pretty soon you’re gonna wind up getting burned by him just like I did.” She walked up from the office chair and right to me.
The lady was mere inches away from my face. I could see the slight annoyance on her expression behind the layers of makeup.
I was hoping that something would suddenly click.
Maybe she was just some scorned lover of Paul’s. Or that old babysitter that he said bailed on him? But just how did she get in here? Did she still have Paul’s key?
“I really don’t know who you are. You wanna tell me who you are and what you’re doing in here?”
“Oh, sorry. That is pretty rude of me. Don’t worry too much about who I am. I’m just here to return this.” A small, cold piece of metal hit my hand. It was Paul’s key. She walked over to the top of the bar and grabbed the flowers. “I’ll be seeing you real soon.” Awkwardly, she walked out of the suite and I jogged over to the floor to ceiling window to make sure she actually left.
That was really fucking odd. Total understatement of the year.
But I wasn’t about to let it ruin what was going to be a perfect night.
I opened the envelope that the woman tossed my way. Inside was a small box that looked like some kind of jewelry holder. When I opened the box, my mouth dropped in disbelief. It was a beautiful hand encrusted sapphire necklace surrounded by diamonds.
I figured I should probably tape my hand to my mouth because at the rate things were going, I would never stop dropping her jaw in shock.
At least I would look the part of someone important at this dinner. I’m pretty sure that was Paul’s goal.
My mind started to drift to the possibility that maybe that woman did have something to do with Paul. The thought made my stomach churn and I moved on immediately.
Walking over to the wardrobe, I opened it slowly and clenched my eyes shut. I was definitely not ready to have any more jaw-dropping moments. I wanted to at least be mentally prepared before I got blinded by some more extravagant things.
Hanging in the center of the wardrobe was a royal blue evening gown that draped all the way down to the ground. The vibrant blue matched the necklace almost perfectly and I stood back for a moment to appreciate Paul’s taste.
“This is unreal. Am I really going to a fancy dinner wearing this?” Well, it was real and it was happening courtesy of my “irresistible daddy professor” beau.
Dreaming.
I must be dreaming.
“Well, you’d better snap out of it April because you have a dinner to go to!” I told myself. I wasted no time hustling over to the master bathroom to change into my princess wear for the night.
The gown was the perfect fit and hugged my curves just right. I angled around the mirror to get a good look at it. Still, I couldn’t believe I would be attending this white tie affair. The last time I attended anything even remotely fancy was my high school prom. I shook my head and laughed at my own harsh truth.
With the necklace wrapped securely around my neck, I opened my makeup bag and applied a little bit of blush and lipstick.
“Wow, look at you April. Don’t you look like a catch! Lucky fucking me.”
Paul’s deep voice made me jump, letting out a loud shrill and I turned around to meet his eyes.
And almost passed out.
He slyly slid his hands around my waist and pinched it lightly. Fiery emotions sparked up my back and excitement took over me.
“Paul, oh my goodness. You scared the shit out of me!” I turned around and wrapped myself around him. My fingers brushed against the smooth fabric of his brown suit. I eased up my hold and took a look at him. “Wow, you look amazing!”
“Me? Look at you. Stunning, like a princess.” He lifted my chin slightly and pressed his lips against mine. I really did feel like a princess.
I didn’t even know what to expect tonight. Still, I knew that if I was in Paul’s arms everything would be just fine.
Paul deepened the kiss and pressed his body harder against mine. No matter how many times we did this it always felt like the first time. He kissed down to my ear, pressing his cheek against mine. The rugged stubble of his face was a comforting discomfort against my skin.
“Looking like this, there’s no fucking way I’m gonna be able to resist your body.” His deep voice tickled my eardrums and stirred the emotions in my body. He t
raced a gentle path along my earlobe with his tongue and stopped along my chin with soft nibbles.
There was no way I could resist him either. The feeling of being with him was too good.
The royal blue bowtie around the collar of his shirt looked fancy, but it was coming off. No questions asked.
I brought my hands up to his neck and loosened it, watching the expensive fabric fall to the floor.
“Oh, I get it. seems like you’re making the first move this time eh?” His voice smooth and velvety against my skin, Paul was so irresistible.
“I guess I am.” I said as confidently as I could as I unbuttoned his crisp shirt.
He dropped his gaze down to his phone. “6:15, we have time.” His husky voice practically growled at me while he worked to slide the evening gown off of my shoulders. Paul was gentle but firm, he gripped my arms and pulled me closer to him. He traced light circles around my jawline with his tongue and sent strong shivers through my body.
Blinding like strong sun rays, his perfect tan illuminated his skin and mesmerized me. Even though it took me a little bit to get this dress on and my hair looking just right, somehow the idea of messing it all up to have one more chance with Paul didn’t faze me.
With the last button undone Paul rolled his shoulders back and let the articles of clothing fall to the floor. I would never get tired of seeing his perfectly muscular body. Valleys and peaks in all the right places, he was a damn work of art.
Suddenly I felt the latches on the gown I was wearing come undone. The dress fell to my feet.
I felt inebriated. Love drunk.
I grabbed Paul’s hand and led him to the large bed behind us.
We kissed again, and he parted my swollen lips with his tongue. Our tongues fiddled against each other and we were practically sucking all of the air from one another’s lungs. My lashes fluttered against his face. My skin was searing under the weight of his touch, guiding me to sheer bliss with ease.
Grasping my breasts in his hands, he groped them tenderly and brought his mouth to them. Light biting and sucking electrified my chest and I raked my hands across his back. He worked his way from my chest and down to my gentle folds. The temperature of my body as rising.
I didn’t want him to stop. I didn’t want this to end. I was getting way too anxious anticipating the thought of him taking me.
My legs parted with the firm weight of his hands and he knelt in to taste my flower. Feeling his tongue against my sensitive skin made my eyes roll uncontrollably in the back of my head. He slid two fingers into my entrance and I clamped down on my legs.
Fireflies and sparks. Dances of light behind my lids. Paul was sending me to another dimension.
“Please…don’t stop!” He was going to make me say his name until it was the only name in the world he could remember.
Every time he leaned in and dragged his tongue along my gentle folds I couldn’t stop the moans that were leaving my mouth. He continued to hold my body open and drew geometric shapes against the softness of my skin.
Immense waves of pleasure flew throughout me unlike anything I have ever felt before.
"Oh Paul…this feels so…good." I bucked my hips upwards into the path of his tongue and impaling of his finger and jerked at the feeling of it stroking my pussy.
He didn’t let up.
I almost lost myself at the feeling of suction against my wholly too delicate flower, and the barrage of licks and sucks sent me reeling in all kinds of crazy directions. My hips jerked up begging Paul to continue.
But, he stopped too soon and leaned his body up from my hips, leaning back in for a kiss. I tasted myself against his lips. It was a new feeling. An intoxicating feeling. I could feel the hardened length of him twitch against my pussy at the feeling of our lust driven embrace.
He leaned his muscular body over me and my body shivered at the feeling of his whisper in my ears. He towered over me.
Like, really towered over me. I was a tiny mound of flesh underneath him.
"You ready for me baby?” The low and rumbling timbre of his voice paralyzed me.
“Yes...Please…don’t make me wait.”
I didn’t think there was any more confirmation that Paul needed. The heat of our bodies was rising and the passion was reaching a tipping point. All I knew is that I wanted Paul inside of me.
Now.
Brushing the firm tip of his cock against my aching folds, he stifled a heavy moan from escaping him and guided the entire length of himself inside me.
Everything was happening in slow motion and my vision went blurry. Beads of sweat ran their way down my body. I was at the mercy of his every touch and movement.
Moving in and out with an exact and precise kind of lust, I flung my arms over my head and tried to grip the sheets underneath me. The slick sound of our skin slapping against each other bounces against the walls of the sweat.
The pressure inside of me built as he filled me, and I bucked my hips upwards to take him further.
“Fuck April…this is too good.” Lifting one of my legs in the air, he shook his head with his eyes closed basking in the feeling of our bodies. "You're so fucking tight right now." He thrust himself deeper inside of me and grabbed my breasts, pinching my nipples with the hand that wasn’t moving all over my body. His naval bounced over and over again against my clit, and that was definitely enough to do me in on its own.
He leaned in closer to me continuing his steady thrusts and kissed me hard. Our chests rose and fell with one another and I swore I could feel our hearts beating together. Sparks were flying all over my body.
It was so right and I didn’t want it to stop.
My body swelled as he brought his hand back down to my sensitive flower and rubbed it gently.
He fixed his eyes on me and his thrusts got faster. I wasn’t going to last much longer at this rate.
Paul’s perfect rhythm started to become disjointed and he locked his hungry lips against mine. His steady breath became husky and our moans smothered against each other.
At this point, I was seeing stars.
He gave three spastic thrusts that disrupted his uniform movements and my walls closed around him. Electrifying pulses of feeling shocked me with every entrance and exit. Feeling myself slowly reaching the edge, my muscles clenched down around his rock-solid flesh.
"Shit…April!" As if that were the start of his climatic marathon-like finish, he gave me a few more unsteady pumps that brought me over the edge. He reached his climax soon after and gripped my waist tight while his body became rigid, filling me with his warm seed.
All I could hear was the low tone of our mangled cries as we reached our peaks and his body collapsed on mine against the comfort of the silk sheets beneath us. Sitting in the afterglow of sex with Paul was the most euphoric thing I’ve ever felt.
We stared into each other’s eyes in silence for a minute.
“You are so beautiful, you know that?” He lazily brought his hand up from his side and brushed it along my cheek.
I couldn’t help but give him my brightest smile.
I glanced at the large clock that was in the center of the room across from the window.
“Holy shit Paul, it’s 7:25! Shouldn’t we get going?!”
Without even saying anything he scurried off of the bed and gathered our clothing that was discarded carelessly to the floor.
“Dammit, the chauffeur is going to bust my balls. He’s been waiting out there for a while.” Paul smiled and chuckled to himself regaining the spiffy appearance he had when he surprised me earlier.
“You kept him waiting outside?”
“I pay him pretty well. I’m sure anyone would take that kind of salary to sit in a car for a few hours.” He helped me tie up the clasps on the back of my dress and we made our way to the door.
I was nervous the whole way to the banquet hall. This would be the first time that those “affluent” kind of people from Paul’s circle got a look at me.
Play
it cool April. People will only know you’re nervous if you lead them on to it.
Paul wrapped his arm around my shoulder in the back of the limo and I rested my head against him.
Who knows? This might even be the most exciting thing I’ve ever done in my life.
“And we now have word that Dr. Paul Gray has just entered the building!!”
My ears rang with the sounds of loud claps and cheers that echoed through the walls of the venue. A row of cameras and lights blasting scurried to the entrance and almost blinded me while we walked through the entrance of the Convention Center.
My heart was racing. Suddenly, I thought to myself “What the hell am I doing here with a world-renowned surgeon? I’m just a student that babysits his son!” I was so afraid that somehow, I stood out like a sore thumb. And afraid that maybe they could all read my mind. Taking a deep breath, I squinted at the influx of camera flashes and tried to get my bearings. Paul grasped my hand tight as he navigated her through the sea of paparazzi that blocked every path.
Finally, we were blocked off from the crazy paparazzi by some guys in black suits and black glasses.
Security detail? This really was a high-profile event!
They led us to a private dining area in the ballroom and I felt so much relief to be out of that pit of madness.
“Goodness, that was ridiculous! You okay April?” Paul ran his hands down my dress to dust it off and led me to our reserved seating.
“Yeah, I’m okay! Can’t say I’ve ever been in anything like that before. That was wild…” My eyes followed Paul’s. He looked down at the name card that was next to my seat.
Lorrie Wills.
I tried to remember if Paul had ever mentioned anyone by that name. Noticing that he winced a bit after he read the name I tugged a bit on his tux.
“Is something wrong?” He shook his head and smiled over at me, his face beaming. There was a hint of worry in his eyes but I tried not to think too much of it.
“Yeah, yeah, everything’s fine. Just…um, wondering who invited Lorrie?”
I looked around throughout the crowded venue and my eyes immediately locked on to a tall woman with long brunette hair that was walking to our table.
