She Got It Bad for a Heartless Gangsta 4

by Shvonne Latrice

I hadn’t smashed Haleigh yet, of course, because her ass was all the way across the country, living in New Jersey, but she had plans to come out here and vice versa. And I admit, talking to her brought up a bunch of old feelings I’d been harboring, so the idea of maybe being back with her ass didn’t sound too bad.

She hadn’t changed from our high school days, but it was in a good way. Of course she’d matured and had a good ass job now, and her body was crazy, but she was still the same Haleigh I’d fallen in love with back in high school. That thought alone had a nigga smiling hard as hell.

“Hello?” I picked up, letting my head fall back.

  “Hey, what are you doing?”

“I’m about to go get some shit done on my car. Let me call you back a little later when I’m settled.”

“Hmm, well what if I told you I was out in L.A.?”

I picked my head up and asked, “You serious? Don’t fuck with me, Haleigh.”

“I swear I’m not! My friend wanted to go to Vegas, remember? I convinced her to come visit L.A. for a little bit since she’s never been.”

“Well how the fuck you gon’ chill with me if you’re her damn tour guide?”

“It won’t be like that. She knows I’m here to see you and my parents too. So when can I actually see you?”

“Give me like two hours to handle a few things, aight?”

  “Okay.”

I hung up the phone and paused for minute. I was elated as fuck that Haleigh was out here, but shit was different for me in L.A. versus on the East Coast. I was way more well-known out here since this was my hometown and since I wasn’t up there yet. And I just knew if one picture of Haleigh and me got out, all the shit with Virginia and I would be a wrap. But then again, could she really comment? Her ass was chilling and getting cozy with her ex’s cousin, not giving a fuck about how I felt about it. So shit, I wasn’t about to give a fuck about how she felt either.

  ***

  Later that evening…

After getting my whip handled, I was able to get a rental car that Virginia had set up for me. Haleigh and I agreed on going to eat some dinner, and most likely, she would come back to the crib with me.

I pulled up into the hooded driveway of the Westin hotel near LAX airport, and to my surprise, Haleigh was just coming out. I watched her switch over to the car in a tight dress, and I couldn’t help but to lick my lips. Jumping from out of the car, I jogged around to get the door for her, and before she got in, she hugged my neck. I enjoyed the scent of her perfume, while letting my hands rub up and down her body.

“You look good as hell tonight, Haleigh.”

“Thanks, so do you.” She looked up into my eyes, gleaming. She was so damn beautiful, but I couldn’t help but wonder why Virginia was still lurking around in my mind.

Once I helped Haleigh into the passenger side of my car, I went around to my side and climbed in before pulling off.

“I thought you said you had a BMW?” Haleigh questioned as she brushed her fingers across the dashboard of the Tesla I’d rented. I’d always wanted one of these muthafuckas, and since my bread was way more stacked than usual, I took advantage of the rental opportunity.

“I do, but my shit is in the shop. That’s what I had to do earlier; get the paint job touched up.”

“I see. So where are we going to eat, Mr. Rapper?”

“Please don’t call me that corny shit. Yo’ ass is still corny almost a damn decade later.” I laughed and so did she.

  “Nigga, I was never corny.”

“Yeah you were a fucking square back in the day, but it was cool because yo’ ass was fine as fuck.”

  “Was?”

I glanced over at her for a moment before taking off at the green light.

“Nah, you’re still fine as hell, and yo’ ass is still corny too.”

  “Whatever, boy.” She snickered.

We made it to this cool little Italian food spot in Long Beach, since Haleigh said that’s what she was in the mood for. After being seated, we ordered some drinks and appetizers since Haleigh’s ass didn’t know what she wanted. She’d always been indecisive as fuck with what she wanted to eat, for the longest. After what felt like four damn hours, we finally put our food orders in.

“We talked a lot when you came to New York, but we didn’t talk much about your personal life.” Haleigh leaned in from across the table. Her smooth chocolate skin was just beaming under the light.

“My personal life? I didn’t realize that shit was so interesting.”

“I mean…” She sipped her drink. “I’m gonna be honest; I Googled your ass as soon as we split ways, but I didn’t find too much.”

“Well that’s good. I’m taking a moment to appreciate shit like that because soon that won’t be the case.”

“I know. I heard your song on the radio while in New York, which is big. Once you get across the coast, that means you’ve made it.”

“Not quite, but I feel you.”

“So tell me, is there a special woman or women?”

  I tittered.

“I’m single, if that’s what you’re asking. What about yo’ ass? You looking good as hell, got a good job, and shit… I know them niggas is checking for you over there.”

“A little bit, but none of them are really what I’m looking for.” She bore into my eyes intensely. “Like I told you before, Jason, I hadn’t forgotten about you.”

“I ain’t forget about you either.”

“You know when I told my father I was going to see you, he was so bothered by it but trying to pretend like he wasn’t.”

“I bet.” I didn’t really want to talk about that bitch ass nigga. “Well, I’m happy you still decided to come anyway.”

  “Me too.”

The dinner was cool, and it reminded me of how close Haleigh and I were. Shit felt exactly the same, like we’d picked up where we’d left off. The only difference was now there was a new woman lingering in the back of my mind.

After dinner, Haleigh agreed to come back to my spot to just chill for a minute. I highly doubted that’s all that we’d do, but I wasn’t gon’ push the shit.

“This is a nice little spot.”

“Damn, like that? Anytime a woman puts ‘little’ in front of something, that means she ain’t impressed.” I hung my keys up.

  “Not like that, Jason.”

“Nah, you good. I’m gon’ upgrade once I stack my chips a little more. I ain’t trying to do too much and end up broke as hell.” I led her to my bedroom upstairs.

  “You’ve always been smart.”

Walking to my closet to remove my sneakers, I said, “You can take ya shoes off and shit, get comfortable. I don’t mind if…” My sentence ended on a cliffhanger when I turned to see Haleigh had dropped her dress and was standing there only in a thong.

Like the nigga that I was, I wasted no time stripping out of my own shit as I neared her. By the time I got close, I was only in my boxers, and pulling her thong off and down her smooth thighs.

Taking over, she pushed me down onto the bed and then dropped down to her knees to take my dick in her mouth as I kicked my boxers off.

“Haleigh,” I groaned, liking the way my dick hit the back of her throat. She didn’t skip a beat either.

She continued to slob up and down my rod until I felt like I was about to bust, so I nudged her back to grab a condom from the drawer next to my bed. Sliding it down on my dick, I helped her stand up and then pulled her into my lap so that she was straddling me. Placing her legs onto my shoulders, I forced my way inside of her and began slamming her pussy feverishly.

“Oh shit,” she cried, gripping my shoulders as she bit down on her lip.

“Mmm,” I growled, continuing to pummel her like my life depended on it. She released her juices on me, and I kept up my pace until I was exploding hard as hell.

“Shit.” She panted as we hugged tightly, kissing slowly in the dimly lit room. Pulling back some, she looked down into
my eyes and whispered, “I missed you, Jason.”

  “I missed you too.”

  Draylah

“Okay, Lily, go take your stuff to your room.” I smiled down at her.

“Alright, and then I can help you cook and put the babies to sleep?” she quizzed excitedly.

“Of course. I can’t do either without you.”

“Okay, I’ll be back. I have to get all settled in first, Draylah.” She walked off and I looked to Antonia.

“She heard the word ‘settled’ in a movie we watched, and now she uses it whenever she can.”

“Oh.” I laughed as I walked to the kitchen with Antonia following me. “Did you want to stay for dinner?”

I felt awkward being nice to her when I was gonna be seeking custody of Lily, but for right now, she had custody, so I didn’t want to upset her. Hell, for all I knew, she could up and run off across the country with my baby, and I didn’t feel like dealing with that. So for now, I was gonna play nice until I didn’t have to anymore. Plus, I was thankful that she was letting Lily stay here tonight, which was Thursday, and until Monday morning. I noticed she loved leaving Lily for the weekends.

“No, no, I have some things to do tonight. I’ll be busy all weekend actually.” She nodded as I began to take down what I needed. “That is a large ring on your finger, darling.”

“Oh yeah. It’s beautiful, huh? I have a fake one just in case, but I honestly don’t think anyone is stupid enough to attempt to rob me.”

“True.” She cleared her throat. “So are you honestly gonna get married to Ricky AK?”

I slowly pulled the pot out of the cabinet and placed it down, before looking at her with dipped brows. I mean, was she seriously asking me this? What the fuck did she think, I was only here for the time being?

  “Umm, yeah, that’s the plan.”

“I see. I guess what I’m asking is do you honestly think the marriage is gonna happen? Like he’s gonna go through with it? I don’t mean to offend, I’m just curious.”

“Yes, he’s gonna go through with it. He really doesn’t have a choice. It’s not like I’m gonna let him be with another woman.” I chuckled to lighten the mood, and so did she.

“Well I’ve been married before, and I’ve been engaged twice, Draylah, and to two very different men. The first man I was engaged to was kind of like Ricky. He was sexy, wild, a lot of fun, spontaneous, and a little crazy even. And even though he’d asked me to marry him, I knew he wasn’t that type to actually be a husband. I wanted him to be, but that wasn’t the case. And eventually, he gave me an excuse as to why he couldn’t marry me right away and didn’t know when he could, so I broke it off.”

“I’m sorry that happened to you, but that is not the case here, Antonia.”

“It probably isn’t, but then again, if you do marry him, you have to realize he is very rich, handsome, and famous. Women will be throwing themselves at him all of the time, and do you think it’s fair for you to expect him to remain faithful for… forever?”

I hated to admit it, but part of what she was saying was starting to bother me. I knew Ricky and I would be married, but I knew he was the type of man that got bored easily. I had confidence in my abilities to keep him interested; I mean, I’d done so this long, but who knew how long that’d last? I wasn’t about to let Antonia see me sweat though.

“Yep, it’s very fair. If he wants me to remain faithful, then he’d better do the same.” I washed my hands to begin seasoning the chicken.

“I guess that’s understandable. But I know Ricky’s type, and if he wants to cheat, he will, and honey, you will never know because he’ll be smart about it. You probably won’t find out until he dies at age 90, and some 60-year-old woman approaches you at his funeral saying he’s her father.”

This hoe was really getting under my skin.

“I’m heeeerrree!” Lily shouted as she rushed into the kitchen, thankfully ending this conversation.

“Okay, good! I didn’t know what to do next!” I grinned as I grabbed the stool I’d gotten for her and put it next to me so that she could stand on it.

“Alright, well I’d better head out. Bye, sweetheart.” Antonia rounded the bar Lily and I were working on to kiss Lily’s forehead.

  “Bye, Mommy!”

“Okay, and, Draylah, think about what I said. Sometimes a safer guy isn’t always a bad thing.”

“Yep.” I placed my hand on her back lightly before escorting her out of the kitchen and to the door.

Once she was gone, I locked it and then went back to the kitchen to wash my hands and finish prepping the food with Lily. I quickly forgot about the conversation with Antonia as Lily and I listened to music on my iPhone and moved around the kitchen. Once everything was in the oven, we decided to go take a little break.

“You wanna go swimming?” I asked her.

“Yes! I made sure to bring my bathing suits you bought me.”

  “Good, let’s go change.”

We both went up the stairs and then to our rooms to put on our bathing suits. Once I was done, I went to check on Camellia and Frederick Jr. They were both awake in their little swings, so I quickly made them each a bottle and then took my baby monitors from the kitchen to make sure I didn’t forget them. I also brought my video monitor.

“Ooh, you look so pretty!” I told Lily when she came into the kitchen in her one piece.

“Thank you! So do you, Draylah.” She looked me up and down. “I can’t wait to look like that!”

“Trust me, do not rush to grow up. Once you’re grown, life becomes boring and hard.”

“Really? But when I’m grown up, I can drive and eat in my bed whenever I want to.”

“True, but you also have to work a boring job, then you have to use the money from that boring job to pay people for things that should be free, like drinking water or having somewhere to live.”

“Oh.” Lily looked off, confused. I could tell I’d ruined her whole image of being an adult, but that was okay. I didn’t want her trying to be grown.

I chuckled before putting her hair up into a tight bun, and then we went out to the backyard where the pool was lit up. We played around in the pool, and after about forty-five minutes, we moved over to the Jacuzzi tub.

“Why is my name on your body?” Lily pointed, throwing me off. I’d had the tattoo so long that I’d forgotten about it.

“I…” I didn’t know what the hell to say to her, but at this point, I was tired of pretending. Not to mention, I had no way of explaining to her why the name Lily was on my side. Antonia would just have to be upset I guess. But how was I supposed to tell Lily the story behind my tattoo without sounding like some creepy bitch from a Lifetime movie? “Lily, I’m gonna be honest with you, okay?”

  “Yeah, okay.” She nodded happily.

“When I was sixteen, I had a baby, and I named her Lily. And something happened, so she was taken away from me. I was lied to, so I thought I would never see her again. But then, Antonia came to me when you got sick, and I realized that my baby that I’d named Lily was you. So the reason your name is on my side is because I’m your… mom, Lily.”

  “No.” She shook her head.

“Sweetheart, I swear to God I’m telling the truth. That’s why your mother has been so nice, allowing you to visit me.”

“So that’s why we look alike? And that means… she’s not my mommy?”

“She is because she has taken care of you since you were a little baby, but I’m your… real mother.”

  “I was in your stomach?”

“Yep.” I giggled. “When I was a teenager.” I moved closer to her in the hot tub.

“So is Ricky my daddy too?” I could hear that she was hopeful, and I kind of didn’t want to ruin that for her.

“Well, when I was a teenager, I was dating another guy, and he’s the one I made you with. But, I’m gonna get married to Ricky, and he’s gonna adopt you and you’ll be his baby then.” I smoothed the edges of her bun.
r />   “That means I don’t have to go home ever! I live here now!” She grinned. I didn’t think she’d take it this well, but I was happy about that.

  “Not quite, Lily. I—”

“Why? You don’t want me to live here forever?”

“No, baby, of course I do. But if I just keep you here, I will get into trouble. I have to do some things first, and that way I can have you without any problems.”

“But you’re my mommy, and I don’t wanna go!” she whined, as tears welled up in her eyes. “Please don’t make me go back! Don’t you love me?”

“Lily, of course I love you. I told you, you’re my very first baby.” I hugged her into my body. Thumbing her tears away, I said, “You are going to live here with me, Ricky, and the twins for good, very soon, I promise you. But can you tell me why you don’t like living with your other mommy?”

Her reaction to going home was surprising, to say the least, and I was hoping she was just acting this way because she was a child, and not for any reason in particular.

“Because she’s mean to me sometimes, and I can’t do anything but sit in my room, unless she wants to watch boring movies.”

“Sit in your room? Aren’t there things to do in your room?”

“No. I only have a bed in there. She took all except one of my toys away because I made her mad, and I can’t play with the kids outside.”

  “What?”

“Oh, but please don’t tell, Draylah! I only have my one Barbie left, and I don’t want it taken away!” Lily pleaded desperately. I could see the fear in her little eyes, and I didn’t know if I was more heartbroken or angry. It was taking a lot for me not to get dressed and go knock Antonia out. But no wonder she was so excited to be over here; it was like getting out of jail.

“I won’t tell, baby, okay?” I hugged her tightly and kissed her cheek a couple times.

We hugged for what seemed like an eternity, and I didn’t mind at all. I was hot as hell from sitting in this Jacuzzi, but it didn’t even matter.
