Pino was raised in a military family and lived a nomadic lifestyle through her formative years. Following her studies at the US Military Academy at West Point and the University of California at Davis, among other colleges, she earned a bachelor of arts in behavioral science and a master of arts in counseling psychology. She worked in the field of education for more than thirty years, most notably as an investigator with the US Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights, and as a college counselor. Pino has always concerned herself with the human condition, which has led to a sense of greater purpose as an instrument of spiritual and healing transformation.
