Pussy went to walk away annoyed with the rebuke when she reached out. Her hand encountered thin air, and she reached out again. The frustration was easy for him to see.
“Please, I’m not being mean, I promise. Erm, I’m blind. I can’t see anything.” She looked left then right, and it was then Pussy recognized her reactions. The noises were quiet, but she kept her eyes focused in front of her. They were pretty eyes, but they didn’t see a thing.
“Sasha, honey.” A male voice interrupted the moment. He recognized the stepfather Ashley hated. Sasha tensed, and her nails sank into his flesh. The fear was evident in her tense posture as her stepfather approached. “Get your grubby hands off my daughter.”
Stepping back, Pussy stared at the young girl, the young blind girl who was terrified of the man coming to take her. The protective instincts inside him rose, and all he wanted to do was stop the man from taking her.
There was nothing for him to do but watch her leave. Within seconds, Sasha Carmichael had impacted his world, and he didn’t know what he was going to do.
Yeah, he did. Pussy was going to do everything in his power to protect her.
