Feral rolled to hands and knees and prowled cat-like toward me, claiming my lips for his own and smothering my moans. His kiss was powerful, demanding, breathtaking. I pressed into it, biting at his lips, devouring him with a raging hunger that only grew as Luxe trailed his lips between my breasts, moving down the curve of my belly to my navel. I gasped against Feral’s lips. He twined rough fingers in my hair, crushing my lips to his, his other hand sliding over my breast and catching my nipple between callused fingers.
I felt my jeans and panties sliding down past my hips as Luxe took advantage of my arch into Feral’s hand. He eased them down my legs, planting kisses along the tops of my thighs, the ridge of my shin, the tops of my feet as he left me bare. The contrast of fierce and tender made me whimper with need. I’d never wanted a man like this, much less two at once. I could feel the wetness between my legs, slick and sticky, begging to be touched.
Luxe ran his hands up my legs, sliding them between my knees, parting my thighs, pressing his thumbs between my outer lips and teasing the folds within. I gasped against Feral’s lips as Luxe pulled them back, exposing my innermost self. I felt the warmth of his breath, then the heat of his tongue as it slipped between my folds.
I cried out. It had been so long since I’d been touched so intimately. So very long. And Luxe was impressively good at what he was doing. His tongue flicked along my folds, seeking, then claiming my clit. The touch left me writhing in Feral’s arms, moaning and gasping like a wild thing.
Feral was not about to be outdone. As his brother tormented my lower half, he began to savage my throat and breasts with teeth and tongue. My world was a haze of hot and wet and rough and smooth. I was lying on the bed, lost in that haze, eyes glazed over in purest ecstasy as the two men devoured every inch of my body.
My breath became a series of whimpers and moans, increasing in volume and intensity as Luxe’s tongue twirled around the tip of my clit. I closed my eyes tightly and let out a long, animal cry of rapture as my orgasm shook my body. Feral suckled at my nipple as I shuddered in his arms, overpowered by the sensations they had unleashed within me.
Feral reached down a hand and gave Luxe an almost-gentle shove. Luxe gave a low rumble, then moved out from between my legs and climbed up onto the bed next to me. His lips met mine. I could taste myself on his lips, sticky and musky and sweet. I lost myself in the kiss for only a moment, then felt callused hands parting my thighs once again. I heard the crinkle of a condom wrapper, then felt the head of an impressive cock trace against my folds.
“Only if you want it,” Luxe whispered against my lips. “We can stop right now.”
“No. I mean yes.” I scrunched up my face in frustration. “I mean…” There was a time for words, and a time for action. I wrapped my legs around Feral’s waist and pressed his cock into me.
“Loud and clear,” Feral purred. I let out a long moan as he took me in one slow, tantalizing stroke.
My world dissolved into sensation. Long, powerful, controlled strokes. Skillful fingers caressing my body and toying with my nipples. Teeth and tongue against my shoulder. Lips tangling with my own. It was hypnotic, all-consuming. I could lose myself forever.
I reached a hand down, seeking Luxe’s cock, not wanting to leave him out. My fingers wrapped around him, sliding along the soft skin of his shaft, toying with the head. His kisses became less tender, more impassioned. He moaned against my moans, flicked his tongue against mine, writhed against my hand. His fingers encircled my wrist.
“Not yet. Not just yet. I need more. More of you.” Desire burned in his voice, sending a blaze through me that mingled with the powerful strokes his brother drove into me.
Feral felt me shudder and recaptured my attention by slipping his thumb against my clit. I cried out as he began to stroke me in time with his thrusts. It was all too much. I thrust against him, meeting each stroke. His thumb doubled its pace, and I arched against him, screaming his name. He buried himself inside me, letting me spasm and writhe my last around him, then finished himself off with a few more powerful strokes. He roared as he came, then collapsed onto his hands on the bed, panting heavily.
Luxe rose as he fell, nudging a shoulder into his weary brother. Feral nodded at him, then slowly slipped out of me and landed on the bed, nibbling at my ear as he nestled beside me.
“Ready for more?” Luxe asked with a truly wicked grin.
I was in no way ready. But I wanted it. I wanted him.
Luxe caught me by the hips and rolled me over with a strength I didn’t expect. I gave a surprised squeak as he flipped me, prompting a chuckle from Feral.
“That was possibly the cutest noise ever,” Feral said, quashing my indignant reply with his lips.
I braced myself on my elbows, face-down on the bed. Luxe’s fingers caressed the globes of my ass reverently, tracing a finger down the cleft, teasing at my tender entrance. I heard another crinkle. I slid my knees up onto the bed, presenting myself to him. I heard a low chuckle at that, then felt Luxe’s cock slip between my lower lips. He taunted me, sliding along my folds, teasing my clit with the head of his cock. I writhed. I wriggled. I whimpered.
His fingers continued to caress my ass. One finger probed at my rear entrance, teasing at it, testing me. I pressed back against it. I wanted him inside me, one way or another. A satisfied chuckle. The head of his cock slipped into me at the same time his finger slid into my ass, and I bucked at the double penetration.
“That’s my girl,” Luxe sighed as he eased himself into me, then drew back and thrust in again. He worked his finger deeper into me as he fucked me, first fast, then slow, then fast again. Feral watched us with lust-dark eyes, sending even more shivers through my body.
I moved my hips with Luxe, fucking him back, demanding more, taking more. I wanted all of him at once. Even after all they’d done, even after two amazing orgasms, I was hungry for him. Something had awakened within me, something insatiable, something demanding. I needed all of him.
Fortunately, he was only too happy to give it. He plundered me thoroughly, seeking my depths and finding them with his long, wonderful cock and his dexterous fingers. When I thought I could take no more, he slid his free hand around my belly, then slipped two fingers over my clit and caught it between them. I threw my head back and cried out, long and lusty, as my orgasm turned my arms to jelly. I collapsed forward onto the bed, but Luxe’s hands caught my hips and pressed them to him. Once, twice, then Luxe gave a cry of his own and plunged deep into me. I could feel his body quiver against mine.
“You are astonishing, my goddess,” Luxe sighed as he eased himself onto the bed next to me. I met his lips eagerly. I felt satiated, safe, and warm. I snuggled down between the two men, my hips cradled in Feral’s groin, my cheek on Luxe’s chest.
All was right with the world.
“Hey Luxe, we need to talk…”
Roc’s voice pulled me out of my reverie. I snatched at the rumpled sheets, trying to cover my nakedness. Feral snatched up his discarded shirt and draped it over me. I nestled back against him in gratitude. His arm cradled me close, freeing Luxe to sit up and confront the intruder.
“Really? Now?” Luxe ran a hand over his rumpled hair and glowered at Roc.
“Really. Now.” Roc’s gaze lingered on me for a long moment, then turned back to Luxe. “I waited as long as I could. We need to make the call. Glory’s turning up the heat on the search. She needs to know that the Picmont is coming home.”
Luxe caught my hand and kissed it. “Back in a moment. Don’t move. Don’t dress. Don’t change a thing.”
I nestled back against Feral as Luxe and Roc left the room. He nuzzled my hair and pressed soft kisses against the back of my neck as I drifted off to sleep.
Chapter Sixteen
The purple grasses swayed in the warm breeze. The twin suns were low in the sky, nearly set. Stars glittered overhead, distant and strange, but somehow closer than I’d ever seen them. I gazed up at them, searching for a familiar constellat
ion and finding none.
As the first sun dipped below the horizon, I sat up. There was a glow off to my left, the flicker of flames. My heart fluttered with the shadows, like a small animal in the presence of a predator.
Alexandria…
The voice resonated in my mind, as foreign as the twin suns and the strange stars. It slithered through my head, slick and tenebrous and touching places best left untouched. I opened my mouth to answer, then slapped a hand across it to stifle the scream.
On the surface, there was nothing horrific to be seen. A fire burned in the center of a circle of bare earth, set into the waving grasses. Behind it, a mirror faced me, reflecting the writhing flames. The frame was ornate, woven out of undulating tentacle-like strands of gold, all of them reaching up to cradle a massive dark gem the size of a softball. It glowed in the half-light of twilight and flame. Facing it across the flames was a carved statue, about half my height. Broad bat-like wings spread from its back, sending long dark shadows clawing toward me.
My hand left my mouth, trailing down my throat, freezing when it reached the top of my collarbone. There was something nestled against my bare flesh. Something warm. Something heavy. I traced it with my fingertips. There was something familiar to the shape.
I looked down, and my breath froze in my throat.
The Soul’s Tears nestled between my breasts, as though it belonged there, as though it had been there all my life. I felt the power inside it, thrumming against my chest like an unholy bass line. At my touch, the gems lit up from within, sending a blood-red glow across my skin.
Alexandria…
I looked into the mirror, and the mirror looked back. Something gazed into me. I felt it, as sure as I could feel my own heart pounding.
Come to us.
Come to your people.
We are your soul’s home.
I woke with a shriek.
“Easy. Easy.”
Arms encircled me from both sides. It would have been stifling if I hadn’t desperately needed flesh against my flesh, warmth to drive out the soul-chilling cold that wrapped around my heart. My face pressed against Feral’s neck, drawing in long gulps of his musky, animal scent. It was just familiar enough, just of-this-Earth enough to soothe. Luxe rubbed my shoulder blades with dexterous fingers, pressing into the knotted muscles. Between the two of them, I managed to slow my breathing and ease the tremors wracking my body.
“I take it that wasn’t a sexy dream,” Luxe said.
I snorted into Feral’s neck. “No. Definitely not sexy.”
“Damn shame. Would you like a sexy reality?”
Feral growled low in his throat. “Don’t be an ass, Luxe.”
“It’s my only setting. Sorry.” Luxe cleared his throat. “Is there anything we can do to help?”
I exhaled a long, slow breath. “You can help me find my pants. I think I need to talk to Roc.”
“We can do that.” Luxe’s hands dropped away from my shoulders. I felt something silky rub against my arm. “Here. Something clean.”
Reluctantly, I pulled away from Feral and accepted the shirt from Luxe. It was a deep blue silk button-down dress shirt. A hint of a smile flickered across my face. “You just want me in your clothes.”
“My pants, specifically, but I’ll settle for my shirt if I must.” He winked at me, then bent down and picked up my jeans. “Here’s the rest. Would you like privacy, or are we past that now that I’ve had my tongue in your…”
“Luxe!” Feral sounded more shocked than I would have expected from someone who also had his tongue all over my person the night prior.
I laughed and accepted my jeans. “It’s okay, Feral. I’m not a delicate flower that will wither in the presence of perversity. I just had a really fucked up but potentially relevant dream.”
“Potentially relevant?” Luxe asked, pulling on a pair of gray slacks without intervening undergarments.
I stared down at my hands as I worked at the shirt buttons. “I only want to tell it once.” I chewed at my lip. “It’s stupid. Being afraid of a dream. But this one felt a little too real, and with all the weird shit going on right now…”
Feral cupped my shoulders in the palms of his hands. “It’s not stupid at all. You forget, we were raised knowing magic was a real thing. Dreams that feel too real…we take those seriously.”
I relaxed a little. “Thanks.” I growled softly to myself. “Everything about this is ridiculous. If you’d told me two days ago I’d be floating in the air with glowing eyes every two minutes and dreaming weird shit about my boss’ necklace, I’d have told you to pound sand.”
“Welcome to our world,” Luxe said, extending a hand with a flourish.
“Your world can bite me.” I accepted his hand and let him pull me off the bed and into his arms.
“With pleasure,” he murmured, grazing his teeth against the side of my neck.
My toes curled. “Mmm. Your world can do that thing you do with your tongue, too.”
“I thought you wanted to talk to Roc,” he whispered in my ear as he flicked the lobe with his very talented tongue.
“Fuck Roc.”
“A woman of ambition. I like that. We can call him in, if you like.” Luxe nipped my ear teasingly.
An exceptionally appealing mental image popped into my head, one with piercing gray eyes and silver hair that I wanted to lock my fingers into. My eyes must’ve gone wider, because I heard Feral chuckle from his seat on the edge of the bed.
“We’ve awakened the beast, it seems,” Feral murmured. “One man will never be enough. We’ll be lucky if we can keep up with her.”
I gave him a hard squint. “What exactly are you saying about me?”
Feral rose from the edge of the bed, chucked a finger under my chin, and planted a kiss on my lips that made me forget any annoyance I may have felt. “I’m saying that you’re a woman with needs, and I want you to get those needs met. Preferably by me, but if you need another cock or three, I won’t argue.” He kissed me again before I could protest. “I could watch you come all day long, even if it’s from the sidelines.”
My knees were quickly turning into jelly. It was hard to remember what I’d been talking about before. It probably wasn’t important anyway…
“Is that all I am? Another cock?” Luxe asked in a mortally wounded tone.
“Oh, you’re a cock all right,” Feral chuckled.
“Hey!”
Their banter brought me back to my senses. “Shit. I do have to talk to Roc.” With effort, I extracted myself from between the two of them. “I’ll be back later.”
“I’m holding you to that,” Luxe said. “I need that shirt back, and I want to be the one who takes it off of you.”
I found Roc in the kitchen, pouring himself a bowl of cereal. His thin gray t-shirt pulled taut against toned back muscles, tapering down in a V toward his tight, sculpted ass. The brothers’ words simmered in the back of my mind. I blinked hard. Snap out of it, Alex.
“Hey,” I said when I found my voice. “Can we talk?”
He set the cereal box down on the counter and turned to face me, leaning casually. “Of course.”
Those eyes could melt diamonds, and the curious half-smile set me to tingling all over again. I blamed my freshly fucked hormone surge and fought back the urge to pounce.
“I…” I rolled my eyes to the heavens and sighed. “This is so fucking stupid. I had a dream. About the Soul’s Tears. And some other things. I thought you might want to know about it.”
Roc straightened up at that. He gestured toward the table. “Pull up a chair. You’re absolutely right. I do want to know.”
So we sat at the table and I told him everything. The purple grasses. The twin suns. The mirror. The idol. I hesitated on the voice. Voices in one’s head are rarely a good thing. But I told him about that too. Through it all, his face was carefully neutral, but encouraging, like a good therapist or a really good bartender.
“And then I woke up screaming.
” I frowned. “I haven’t done that since I was a kid.”
“Did you have a lot of nightmares as a kid?”
I shook my head. “Not a lot. The usual crap. Boogeymen, naked in front of the class, giant snarling wolves…” I winced. “Um, sorry.”
He chuckled. “No offense taken. I’m told I can be quite intimidating when I’m shifted.”
I laughed despite my embarrassment. “Yeah. So, the dream. Anything to be concerned about?”
He ran a hand over his mouth, then extended a finger along his nose, an expression of deep thought. I could tell he was mulling over exactly how to tell me something terrible.
“Have you ever dreamt about this place before? The field? The suns?” That therapist tone, neutral and cautious, set me on edge.
“No.” I cut myself off. “Once. Right before I woke up in your…” Lair? Hideout? “When we first met.”
“What did you see then?”
“Just the field. No ritual circles or anything. And I smelled the scroll on the breeze.” I narrowed my eyes slightly. “You know this place, don’t you?”
He let his hand drop. His expression turned grim. “I’ve heard about it, back when I was training for the cleanup crew. It’s another realm. A place between worlds. Only accessible by powerful celestial magic.” He rubbed at the light layer of stubble on his jaw. “Either you absorbed a lot of magic from that scroll you read, or it opened something within you. Possibly both.”
“Back it up a little bit. Cleanup crew?” Something about that phrase raised the hairs on the back of my neck.
He pressed the palms of his hands together in front of his mouth, resting his fingers against his lips, and took a deep breath. “I used to command a team of wolves charged with the task of making sure human magical use stayed within certain parameters.”
The uneasy feeling grew. “And what did you do if a human strayed from your parameters?” I thought about my mother and her tea leaves and her Elder Signs. Was she straying from someone’s ‘parameters?’
