She cupped his face, and couldn’t believe her luck.

Taking the job of a nanny was the best thing she had ever done. At first she had been petrified, being out in the world once again, but it had in fact been the best decision she had ever made.

She loved Leo, loved Grace, and knew there wasn’t any other place she would rather be than in his arms.

  “I already am.”

  Epilogue

  Three years later

“We can’t be late. She has practiced so hard.”

“I’ve got Layla, don’t worry,” Leo said. He followed his wife up the steps of the main school. They were late, of course they were late. Layla had been difficult, and Cassie had struggled to find a dress to fit.

She refused to go back into her maternity clothes just yet. She wanted to stick with her size eighteen jeans. Of course, they both knew it was only a matter of time before she was back in the stretchy waistband. He couldn’t keep his hands off her, so she was pregnant again.

Layla was lying on his chest, and he was thankful that she had stayed that way as she slept.

His little girl Grace was in her acting debut. At eight years old, she had finally grown the courage to be the main star, and he was so proud of her. Of course it had taken him and Cassie to get Grace to where she was today, with Layla as well. Now Grace played some kind of fairy, who was worshiped by all the kingdom. It was a school play, written by the children to help inspire their imaginations.

Taking Cassie’s hand, Leo held his breath as the curtain went up. There was his little girl, looking nervous but determined. She waved at them and then blew them a kiss. He saw her lean toward another girl, and then whisper the words “Daddy and Mommy”. Grace had started to call Cassie “Mommy” when he first married her.

Three years with Cassie in his life, and his world was like something out of a romance novel. He was in love, totally blown away by the feelings she inspired inside him.

“That’s our girl there, Leo,” she said, resting her head against his shoulder.

  “She takes after you.”

She glanced up at him and smiled. “You’re a charmer.”

It had taken Grace a long time to get over what Beverly did, but his ex hadn’t come back for more. The threat of assault, fraud, child neglect was enough to keep her away. He had the evidence of her disgusting behavior, and he would use it any time she threatened him. No one got away with that, not with him.

Cassie had opened up his entire world, and she had given him a beautiful girl, and they were expecting another in the coming months. Grace was excited to be a big sister, and she had begged them for a little brother. Leo was more than happy to keep on trying, and if they ended up with twenty children before he got a boy for Grace, he didn’t mind. He didn’t care what the sex was, only that his baby and his woman were safe and healthy. She made coming home every day something to look forward to.

She was a loving woman, a giving woman, and above all, she belonged to him.

Wrapping his arms around her shoulders, he held her close, and knew that their life together was going to be the best thing that had ever happened to him.
