  Barb pulled back to stare into Adam’s eyes. They danced with satisfaction as he said, “Did you feel that?”

  “Yes, yes.” She couldn’t help the laugh that bubbled from her.

  He crushed her close, murmuring that he’d finally got it right, but she couldn’t stop as happy tears filled her eyes.

  “This time, it’s forever,” he warned.

  “Your forever, or mine?” she teased, using his words from before.

  “Well, if fate is a dependable bastard, then both.”

  “He hasn’t failed us yet.” Barb laughed and Adam cut her off with another kiss.

  Sometimes things have to break before they can be fixed. For better or worse. In the end, you have to take the risk or lose the chance.

  That applied to racing and love.

  Especially love.
