As always his wings materialised the minute he landed on the cloud. Facing him in the throne room were the Gods and Goddesses, who sat on their over large intricately gilded thrones in a line. He always marvelled at how in this room they would come together, but leave this room and they were quick to belittle and bitch about each other.

The room was a breath taking sight; it was almost like a mirage, with the high ceilings and masses of windows, which allowed the light to filter through, emphasising the glint of the diamonds embedded in the structure. Whilst the room was decorated in white and gold, the floor was made of white marble with a gold carpet running through the middle of it. Whilst most of the walls resembled clouds, the one behind his esteemed bosses had a waterfall cascading down through the floor disappearing to nowhere.

Tonight it was the most powerful of them all who called him forward; he bowed to the Goddess of Destiny.

"Mitchell, how goes it on Earth?"

The Goddess of Destiny was stunning, so ethereal with her shimmering aura visible to all. Her long blonde hair sat in ringlets fell close to her knees, her white gown was pooling at her feet but her eyes were completely white, no person could look into them without feeling blinded by the shimmering glow within them. Just to be in her presence was awe inspiring, however Mitch had been tossed around by these Gods and Goddesses for a millennia and had no desire to be called up here, not when the people he now considered friends needed him.

"Well, can I start by saying that you called me at a bad time?"

"Granted Warrior I admire your loyalty, it has always been one of your many virtues, we have been watching and have a gift for you to give to your friend. Please give her this vial, it will give life where it is lost, but that life will be altered. The order of things cannot be mixed up. If she loses tonight the order will change everything and I cannot allow that to happen." Destiny was the strongest of the Goddesses and the oldest.

His eyebrows lifted, this was a new twist to the Gods. They did not normally interfere with the way of things.

"Is there enough for more than one? Who will she loose because if it's Ben and he changes, the order will be screwed because she will come for you all and I will assist her. If it is her that goes, know this, I will want answers and they had better be damn good."

Mitch didn't like where this was going, he also knew he would not get the answers he needed.

"Ah warrior I see the people from this Earth touch you, you like these people. You seem to enjoy the frivolities of these beings and you are angry to be taken when you are needed. Take this with you; you seek the one enemy, look closer to the woman to find the enemy. These people you align yourself with are part of your calling, but the one you call Lucky is the key to success for everyone. She is strong and brave, worthy of the respect of the Gods and Goddesses."

  ****************

And just like that he was back and all was normal in an abnormal sense. Lucky was about to leave, he had to stop her.

"LUCKY WAIT!" He raced after her, when she saw him; she offered him a reassuring smile. "I am glad you are back with us Mitch, I feel better with you here."

"So you should, now take this put it somewhere safe. We don’t have much time; it's a vial of some crap sent by those up there. Apparently they are watching you; you are a warrior with a warrior's heart yada yada yada….."

A bolt of lightning shot near his feet. "I GOT IT STOP WITH THE LIGHTNING, where was I? Right a warrior heart who cannot loose tonight, if you do, you will upset the order of the universe. You seek one enemy, so Ben is right both investigations are linked. Anyway the vial is enough to bring someone back to life, if they you know but there's only enough for one."

"Thank you Mitch." He was touched when she kissed his cheek. "Thank you." She added looking up to the sky; a dove flew over them at that exact moment causing Mitch to frown.

"She gets doves and I get lightning." Mitch was mumbling but she was thinking, trying to decide where to put the vial, she needed it somewhere safe so she slid it into her bra, possibly the safest place tonight. Well it had better be safe in her bra.

"Mitch we need to go." Bastian and Mitch left, leaving only Lucky, Theo, and Darius who was about to leave so that he could arrive before them. She knew that they would be followed by wolves as a show of support until the woods ended, at which point two of Vlads men would take over, not that she would be able to see them.

Ben and Lewis were already in place, they had the back and side entrances of Dreams already covered, three vampires were on the roofs, one on both sides and one opposite. The others were already in the club, Galen was asking what women were around tonight and Curico had already been seen. Theo's telepathic link with Ben was coming in handy; he was constantly feeding them updated information from Bastian.

  Chapter 27

As they entered Dreams one of the security staff went to pat her down.

"I don't think so; last time you were a little too hands on, so this time, fuck you. I am coming in whether you like it or not." Clearly she was being watched by the person behind the camera, shown by the immediate admittance; Curico was waiting for her when she passed through the doors.

"Ah the lovely Lucky, so pleased you could join us. Are we planning on providing a little excitement to our patrons this evening?" Lucky raised her eyebrows. Tonight he wore a purple velour suit, his long greasy hair hung loose. His shirt sleeves hung ruffled past the end of the suit arms.

"Are you this welcoming to all your guests?"

"Only the important ones which I am starting to think you are. I imagine that some of our tastes may be similar."

"Really, I didn’t think you were quite as refined as I am."

She enjoyed watching his smile droop slightly. His feelings towards her changed, he hadn’t liked her barb and was now thinking some damn aggressive thoughts towards her. "We have some other entertainment this evening, if you would like to join us later you would be welcome."

"That depends on whether I can be occupied until this so called entertainment starts. Theo will let you know if we want to join you later."

"Ah there lies a problem; the invitation only extends so far."

"Well in that case I decline; Theo is my escort because our tastes are similar, so my dear beau provided some security that would suit me. I don't want to upset my intended too much; therefore I remain with Theo. Considering you set three vampires on me during our last visit, I am sure you understand Ben's concerns."

"Ah but you managed so handsomely, I was surprised to hear that you are completely human. In the interests of good relations, I will extend the invitation to your escort for tonight only."

God Curico was a creep. She knew Ben would already know about the invite through Theo. Lucky was just thinking how much easier things would be when her link with Ben was in place.

As they headed to the bar she saw Theo and Darius extend pleasantries, which was not part of the plan so she knew that something was not right. As Theo returned to her side they headed to the bar together.

"Something I should know Theo?" As he leaned into her, she knew he was still looking around.

"Your stalker is here; their energy signature is near the side corridor. I didn’t want to tell you until after tonight, and I never wanted to tell Ben, my plan had been to neutralise the threat but they were outside the pack land today, so stay close."

Great now she was even more freaked out, her spine tingled at the thought of someone watching her; they could be watching her at this very moment.

To calm herself she mixed with the crowd making sure she stayed close to Theo but never still. She saw Galen head into the restricted area and she also saw at least one of Vlads vampires head out that way. So far the club seemed tolerable, she saw Mitch dancing with at least two humans. At least one of her party seemed to be having fun but she knew better when she caught Mitch watching her. Darius was now upstairs; she knew that he had planned to try for an aerial view.

  After drinking a second
bottle of water while dancing with several sweaty men, who quite frankly were so drunk that they were likely to become supper for at least one thirsty vampire, she made her way back to Theo. She pointed towards the toilets, Theo was close behind her but she was certain that even he would not follow her in there, though she suspected that a female vampire sent by Vlad wouldn't be far behind her.

As the door closed Lucky was surprised to find the toilets almost empty. As she went into the cubicle, someone came out of another. She was face to face with someone that she didn't expect to see here at any time, but certainly not tonight.

"Lucky, oh thank god it's you. There's something weird going on here I was just outside and oh my god, my friends have left me and I need to go home." She was almost hysterical, so panicked by the on goings in Dreams.

"Hey calm down, I can get you out." As Lucky went to hug her, she realised that this didn't seem right. It was too late; she felt a prick and then nothing.

  Chapter 28

Ben and Lewis were in the car outside of the club with the cold air causing them to blow at their hands. The oppressive feeling still sat like a weight in Ben's stomach. At the same time as Lewis received the phone call, Lucky stopped talking. He knew something was wrong, immediately he started screaming at Theo telepathically, telling him to get into the toilets.

His heart was in his mouth when he heard Bastian call "GO" through the radio. Ben knew that all accesses inside and out were closed down, as the men started streaming through the club. With his heart in his mouth he ran, the pounding in his ears became too much. He couldn't breathe, grabbing the monitor off the dash he ran into the club.

Arriving at the doors, security tried to prevent his entry. Hitting one square in the head, Ben moved when he saw the man drop. The other man made a move towards him; Ben went to take him down only to find Lewis shocking him with a Taser. Running through Ben went straight for the toilets, only to find Theo banging doors and cursing.

"She's gone Ben and I don’t know where, the energy signature is here. Whoever has her is also the stalker." He knew Theo was blaming himself, but he moved on, he didn’t have time to make Theo feel better.

Within minutes the lights were on, people were searching for Lucky but she was gone, inside he knew that she was no longer in the club, his wolf and his heart knew it. Everyone was quickly contained on each of the floors; everywhere he looked people had been detained. The men that had gone into the private rooms had that contained; several of the security staff had met an early death. He knew Theo couldn't find her; the tracking device showed her being moved already, but then that stopped moving?

All of the entrances were sealed. Lewis was shouting so Ben went to find him. Seeing Curico held by Mitch and Connor, he ran straight for him and hit him over and over, demanding he tell them where the exit was, there had to be another. Lewis had to stop him from pummelling Curico before he killed him. Ben barely heard Curico whimper.

"The basement has tunnels." With the lights on, the club now looked run down and scruffy.

"Where do they end?" This felt like the worst moment of his life, he couldn't lose her not when he had only just found her.

"The highway." Ben was moving before Curico had even finished speaking. He had a feeling that he was running out of time. He was headed out of the club, when he was stopped by one of Bastian's men. Galen came out of the restricted area.

"Wherever it is it takes about fifteen minutes to get there; it's surrounded by woods and has at least two sections to the house. Sorry that's all I got."

  "It's more than I had."

Ben was losing it, his wolf itching to get out. "I'm going hunting, if you get anymore let me know."

Lewis was chasing him as he headed to the basement, he knew it was contained and that they had found at least ten prisoners down there but he needed to track her scent. Theo and Connor were beside him; Lewis caught up and started talking to him as he moved deeper into the dark, damp basement. Wide enough to fit a car through, he needed to shift to follow her tracks.

"Wait Ben, I think I know who it is. The same person who owns this club owns another remote property about twenty miles from here." Ben took the details and shifted, his wolf taking over the hunt. He was going to get his mate and heaven help anyone who got in his way.

  Chapter 29

Lucky woke in pain, lots of pain. She was strapped to a table and could feel what must be blood dripping from her wrist to the floor. As her eyes struggled to focus in the candle light, she realised that where ever she was, it was not a pleasant place to be. The walls were extremely dark, the candle light did not allow her to distinguish the colour, but she could see symbols all over the walls. There was a putrid smell that Lucky couldn't quite place almost like rotting corpses, but she couldn’t see anything that would explain the odour. What the hell had happened? She recalled being in Dreams, going to the toilets and then her mind was blank.

Ben would be out of his mind, Lewis would be going crazy. She could hear crying and turned her head to the side.

"Phil." It came out as raspy for some reason, but her shock at seeing Phil here was evident. "What the hell is happening?" Lucky started to remember little bits and pieces.

Phil was handcuffed to a pipe; he was terrified and crying but otherwise unharmed. His normally immaculate clothes were crumpled, and filthy. All she could think was that the girls might lose both of their parents in one night.

"That is not going happen. Phil pull yourself together we need a plan."

Suddenly Lucky made a decision not to allow that, closing her eyes, she drew in her strength, she was now angry. Even as she was trying to calm Phil down, her brain was trying to work out why Phil was here. Pulling on the straps holding her wrists down, she winced as the blood flowed faster, maybe not that way. She tried her legs which were no more mobile than the wrists. That meant that she would need Phil to get loose so he could get her loose.

"Phil calm the fuck down and listen to me."

He lifted his head towards her, at the same time a male step out of the shadows. He didn't look happy and he was focussed more on Phil than her. He started moving towards Phil, as Phil looked up the man he hit him hard breaking his nose.

"You do not deserve my mistress, you are beneath her yet she favours you." He hit Phil again; she heard bone crunch as Phil called out. Phil would not be able to cope with this type of treatment, but she could take it.

"Hey dickhead, get over here and do that, better yet release one of my arms and let's see you do that again."

Well the distraction clearly worked, the man wasn't big but he was intimidating as he came towards her. As he got to the table she was strapped to, he ran his hand up the inside of her thigh pushing her skirt up with it making her furious. Only Ben was allowed to touch her.

"Don't fucking touch me you pussy. What's the matter can't get it up without a woman being strapped down."

"Now you however, I can see you that would be worthy. You want me to let you go? How about this, kill him and I will let you go." He was pointing to where Phil was slumped in the corner now unconscious.

"Fuck you." Lucky was thinking through her choices but they were limited right now. She didn't like his smile, the one showing his sick enjoyment.

"That may very well happen later, you won't like it but I will. Just to inform you, he will die tonight but not until after the mistress has finished with you. You at least could have made it quick and painless, I will not."

Looking around she couldn't see anything that would tell her where she was. She knew that Ben would be searching for her, damn he needed to hurry. She would have given anything to have the link with Ben, why hadn't she agreed to the mating ceremony already?

"Well you had better tell your mistress to get her ass down here and show her face. I can't hang around all day; I have things to do, places to go. I am sure you know how it is." Suddenly there was a draft as the door on Lucky's right opened.

"Your wish is my command. You have been a
fucking thorn in my side for so long now and you wouldn't go away. After all of the warnings I gave you yet you just ignored them. So this is your fault."

Lucky knew that voice; suddenly she remembered everything that had happened in the club.

"Amy what the hell are you doing? Let me go and we can sort this out."

Suddenly Amy was standing at the top of the table, near her head. Lucky felt the hot sting as Amy began yanking on her hair.

"You still take me for a dumb bimbo, you stupid bitch. Some cop you are after the numerous Others I sent after you, and you still thought nothing, I was in your life every day. I didn't want it to come to this, I warned you. I didn't want much; all I wanted was for you to get out of Phil's life. I could deal with the bratty fucking kids, but not the wonderful super fucking ex-wife." It took Lucky a minute to process all of this.

"Wait so this was all for Phil?" Lucky saw Amy turn towards Phil and suddenly the air seemed to get heavy.

"ALEX." Lucky didn't think that Alex was looking at Amy's face, because he seemed unaware of the fury that was running across her face and that it was directed at him.

"Yes mistress?" His naked body was now stood to attention fuelled by excitement. He didn’t fear her rage, he wanted her rage.

"I warned you not to touch him; you are not good enough to touch him." She sent a blast of heat to the man, it slammed him against the wall and as he slid down, Amy turned back to Lucky as if nothing had happened.

"Ah where were we? Oh yes. You look surprised Lucky don't worry your little friends will be too late; I have covered my tracks well. And you thought I was some clueless hairdresser."
