Cocky Senator's Daughter: Hannah Cocker (Cocker Brothers of Atlanta Book 8) Page 27

by Faleena Hopkins

He locks eyes with me, his face somber as he lets me know, “I’m putting it behind me that you pulled one over on me. For the moment.”

As his fingers stroke me with such talent I can barely think, I moan, “I told you my name was Jaimie. You wouldn’t listen.”

  “Bullshit.”

I bite his lip to shut him up. That only turns him on more. He groans and kisses me, lashing tongues while our fingers grind into each other. I untuck his button up shirt and slide my hands over his abs, clawing them with my nails as he moans. Our mouths tear apart as his index finger dives into me. As his eyelids go heavier he tells me in accusing tone, “You knew I thought you were a stranger.”

“I sat next to you for a whole school year. You should have remembered me!”

“I wasn’t the most observant of teenagers,” he smirks. “Otherwise I would have noticed you had a crush on me.”

I moan deeply as he slides his middle finger in, too. “I did not!”

He laughs under his breath. “Every girl had a crush on me.”

I gasp, “Some liked Jason!” as he finger-fucks me in the darkness.

“Not you, though, huh, Jaimie? No, you had a thing for me, didn’t you.” He lunges for my mouth, and the kiss grows in hunger as he fingers me senseless.

  “I didn’t want you,” I lie.

  “But you do now?”

“I want you so badly it’s painful.”

His smirk deepens as he keeps going, watching me wince when the burning heat overtakes me. “You’re close to cumming.” He grimaces with pleasure as I shove my hand in his pants and grab his erection. “You want more?”

“Uh huh!” I moan. The sound of his zipper has me humming with desperation. “Oh, God, hurry!”

Hooking one of my legs around his ass Justin glances downstairs. “No one’s looking. Keep your screams silent.” He nibbles my lip and slips my panties to the side, holding his tip against me.

“Tell me what you want, Jaimie,” he rasps, glancing toward the river and path below us. “You want me to fuck you right out here. You think these shadows are dark enough to hide us fucking?” He smirks and slides his tongue over the inside of my bottom lip. “You like it dirty.”

He presses just an inch of himself into me. Just the tip. I try to move to force him in deeper but he smirks, “Not so fast, needy girl. I know you want it, but you didn’t tell me you did. You have to tell me.”

“Stop it,” I whisper, tilting my head up for more kisses.

“Hmmm. Telling me to stop but at the same time you’re dripping down me. I think you might need a good hard fucking.”

  “I do,” I moan.

  “Say it.”

I grab the back of his head and whisper in his ear, “Justin…fuck me!” before I lick it.

  “Say please,” he groans.

Biting his earlobe I moan through my teeth, “Please fuck me right now or…” I trail off because I don’t have anything to threaten.

He locks eyes with me, pulling my hair. “Or what?”

“Or I’ll never talk to you again.”

Something dark flashes across his eyes. “After I win this election you might not talk to me again anyway.”

His perfect hips do what they were made to, so quickly that suddenly I’m seeing stars. Justin fills me so hard and fast and it’s exactly what I hoped it would be. I feel complete as we move together, both of us panting.

He bites my lip as people’s conversations pass us from below, holding a second for quiet.

When their voices fade, he hammers me steadily, frowning at me like he wishes he didn’t want this as badly as I do. My eyes close with pleasure. When they open again, I discover him gazing at me with a look I’ve never seen on him before.

  “You’re so fucking beautiful, Jaimie.”

I stare in surprise, momentarily frozen. But then he shoves his hand over my pelvic bone to seek out my clit with his thumb, lightly stroking it while he cranes his hips to fuck me at the same time. “It’s too much!”

“I know,” he growls, flashing a wolfish smile. “It’s agony to be this close to orgasm, isn’t it? To need more and want it to be over and yet never want the heat to end?”

“Yes,” I whisper, opening my lips for a kiss he doesn’t hesitate in giving me. Our tongues lace together as he slides the pad of his thumb over my hard little bean, filling me with his gorgeous cock over and over. He licks my trembling bottom lip, then shoves his tongue in my mouth, releasing my clit and grabbing onto my hips with both hands to finish me off with strong thrusts. I mouth, I’m cumming, and he nods with a handsome grimace of ecstasy. His cock hardens and fills even more.

This is the moment I love the most.

  He’s about to explode.

  Suddenly I realize…

  “Justin! You’re not protected!”

He frowns and mutters, “Shit. I forgot. Oh God,” he moans, his voice growing thick with the build.

“Keep going but pull out before you do.”

He nods and claims my mouth. The sweet burn keeps building inside of my blood. Everything is on fire and I bite his tongue to stop from screaming as I cum so hard it hurts. He grunts, thrown over the edge, makes the sexiest wince and pulls out, stroking himself while he locks eyes with me. I’ve never watched a man masturbate before, and it’s so sexy I commit it to permanent memory.

For those times when he’s gone.

Justin Cocker, you bastard, how dare you make me want you this badly.

You might be good for sex. No, you’re great for it. And I’ll never forget this. But give you my heart and the whole world would call me a fool.

  Justin

We haven’t said a word since our bodies separated. When she’s not fucking me, there’s an impenetrable stone wall erected around Jaimie Rothdale, the distance and inaccessibility visible through her charcoal eyes.

  It’s like I’m not here.

Like she’s walking alone back to the hotel.

No woman has ever been this difficult to read.

In fact, no woman has ever been this cold. Ever.

“You’re staying in this hotel?” I ask as we approach The Bohemian.

Staring ahead, she answers, “I am,” and offers nothing more.

It’s a disturbing realization that I don’t know what to say at this moment. As is the case with anyone, life takes me by surprise sometimes, but I can handle anything without breaking a sweat. I don’t have an insecure bone in me and I’m a quick-thinker. Yet here I am stumped.

She’s acting like a man would.

Took what she wanted and now wants me gone after it’s done. If it weren’t so fucking annoying it would be hot. But it is annoying.

In fact, it’s starting to piss me off.

My brothers and I, we’ve always fought women off. Ever since grade school. No lie. And when we decided to take girls on dates, or just to bed, they invariably begged us to stick around. We’ve joked about it, the six of us, because you have to find the humor when something that ridiculous keeps happening.

It wasn’t just once or twice, for any of us.

It was multiple times to ridiculous proportions.

Jett had a girl tattoo his name into her neck and they’d only fucked once.

We joked about it, but none of us liked it. It got old fast.

To be fair, some were pressured by mothers who wanted their daughter to marry a Cocker as if we were in the medieval age when women weren’t allowed to own land or have a job. It made no sense their desire to lock one of us into marriage just because of an idea of what we could give them – status, money, material things.

  Get your own damn shit.

Call me a dick. Most women have.

Beg me to fuck you? Sure.

Beg me to stay over afterward and whine?

  Disgusting.

I’m proud of the fact that I’ve never called anyone ‘my girlfriend.’ No one’s been brought home to meet the family. My focus has always been on bigger things th
an love. I don’t even like the word.

But I never behaved like I was marriage material, so whenever a woman got all insane with jealousy, or teary-eyed with need for more from me, I steadily reminded her that my actions were never deceiving. Ever.

“But I thought you might want more, later!”

“Oh yeah? What made you think that?”

Weepy eyes flitted back and forth before a whisper admitted, “I don’t know.”

Or the time I had a knife thrown at me: “You sonofabitch! You’re the most unfeeling bastard I’ve ever met in my life!”

I ducked the blade, then countered in a calm voice, “Then why do you want to be my girlfriend exactly?”

That shut her the fuck up.

I also stopped inviting women over.

All that said, being on the receiving end of this kind of treatment is messing with my head.

“When did you get in? You fly or drive?” I ask Jaimie in another lame attempt to have a fucking conversation.

“Does it matter?” she sighs, like the question is boring.

Biting the inside of my cheek, I stare ahead until we get to the hotel’s back entrance and she waits for me to open the door for her. I chuckle and grab the handle. “Your highness.”

She shoots me a look that wipes my smirk away. “Goodnight Justin.”

Staring after her I watch those long legs taking their time to the elevator.

  What the fuck?

She’s not rushing off in anger.

She’s just strolling away – la dee dah – like it never happened.

  What. The. Fuck.

  Jaimie

As I punch the elevator button with my index finger I hear his footsteps coming up behind me. Turning with distance in my eyes, I meet his stare and ask, “What, Justin? What do you want?”

Stopping several feet back, he rakes a hand through his hair and struggles for words. “What do I want?” he mutters.

“Yes, why are you following me?”

He makes a noise like he can’t believe his ears. Stepping closer his eyes lock with mine. “I’ve never met anyone like you before, Ms. Rothdale.”

I tense at his calling me by my last name. It’s so cold and mirrors how I’m treating him. I am doing this for self-preservation. I am a woman and my body wants to bond with a man’s once it finds a ‘suitable mate.’ It’s evolution and it’s dumb. He warned me in the airplane not to fall for him. I am trying to heed that warning. All I want to do is crawl up inside his warm embrace and never leave it.

“From your tone that’s not a compliment, Mr. Cocker.”

The doors open behind me. Strangers step out as Justin thickly says, “You’re acting as if I’m not here. As if what we did, never happened.”

People glance over, suspicious we might be talking about sex. On an irritated exhale, I step closer to Justin for privacy. “It happened, but it doesn’t mean anything.”

His lips part. “Wow,” he rasps, staring at me like I’m an alien.

“Oh save your shock. You must’ve said exactly the same thing to a hundred different women. And you warned me you weren’t relationship material, didn’t you?”

Looking mildly sheepish he mutters, “Yes.”

“Yes, you did. Which is amusing. Do you really think I’m naïve enough to believe you’re someone I could care about? You don’t have to worry, Justin, you have perfected the art of unavailability. You are good for sex and that’s all you’re good for when it comes to women. Wanting anything from you other than that would only lead to pain. Any female who’s thought otherwise was delusional. We are on the opposites sides of a political race, and I know you haven’t forgotten that, so stop with the attempts at chit-chat.” Glancing around to make sure no one can hear me, I add, “The sex was hot because it’s forbidden, not because I like you.” Behind me doors open to the next elevator and my heart is beating so hard I want to leap into it. “Now, if you’ll excuse me. We have an early morning ahead of us. I’ll see you there. Goodnight.”

Turning on my heel, I walk into the car and push the button for my floor.

  Justin hasn’t moved.

His face is pale as we stare at each other.

Why won’t these doors shut faster!

I cannot let him see me crumble.

Swallowing hard I hold his look until the doors close. Finally alone, I lean into the wall and start sobbing, whispering in a desperate attempt at consolation, “C’mon Jaimie, stop it. You did what you had to do.”

  Justin

Heading to the bar I find my cousins in a debate that halts as I approach. “Well well,” Jordan grins, a few martinis in now. “Assumed we wouldn’t see you again until morning.”

Jocelyn smiles up at me, “Love her and leave her?”

Stunned by what Jaimie just said to me, I reclaim the seat I had before. “No. I didn’t have sex with her.”

  “Where were you then?”

“I uh…I just walked her to her room to get her away from that jerk. Nothing else.”

  Disappointed, their smiles fade.

Jocelyn brings a full glass to her lips. “Bummer.”

A feeling is rising from my gut that I can’t deal with right now. “Where’s my martini?”

Jordan throws his arm over the chair. “You really think you could leave a full drink behind and expect it to stay here? No such luck, cousin.”

  “Get me another one.”

“Yes, sir. Right away, sir.” He gestures for the cocktail waitress to return to us. “You should have gotten laid. You need to loosen up.”

I lean back in the chair and lie through gritted teeth, “Ms. Rothdale is not my type.”

My cousin tells the smiling cocktail waitress, “Our future Senator here would like a martini since my sister and I drank his in his absence. Would you be so kind as to bring it quickly? He’s white as a sheet.”

The waitress has fallen hard for Jordan since I left. “Of course,” she breathes before disappearing.

Jocelyn and I watch her exit, but Jordan is set on understanding me. “You’re telling me you don’t find her attractive?”

“The cocktail waitress is very cute. You should go for it,” I grumble.

He laughs, “You know who I mean.”

“She’s the daughter of my competition, Jordan. I want nothing to do with her.”

Jocelyn fake-whispers, “I think he likes her.”

This image is jabbing at my temples: Jaimie moaning in my arms and then while the sweat was still drying, those same lips telling me that for women, I’m not good for anything more than sex. Everything she said is true, so why do I feel a volcano of rage threatening to blow?

“I’m not into her.” I rub my forehead, trying to calm the fuck down. “Drop it.”

“C’mon cousin, we know you,” Jocelyn teases. “It’s not a secret that you’re the biggest slut of both our families!”

Glaring at her my blood crackles. “Oh?”

Jordan notices I’m about to lose control of my temper. To protect her he hastily jokes, “Jameson is the biggest slut.”

  Jameson whiskey, please. Rocks.

My cousin’s name is Jameson, and he’s a guy, so I couldn’t call you that.

“How many women did he say he’d been with? Hundreds?”

There is no woman in my life or past that I’m holding a torch for. Let it go.

Jocelyn’s face sobers up as she defends her eldest brother. “No! Not hundreds. You’re making that up. He never said how many.”

I’m putting it behind me that you pulled one over on me. For the moment.

“Because he couldn’t remember!” Jordan glances back to me, a little nervous at my expression. “Don’t listen to her. She worships our older brother. Doesn’t want to see that her superhero, Captain Jameson, has a weakness…and it’s pussy.”

The sex was hot because it’s forbidden, not because I like you.

Jocelyn blanches. “Just stop. Please don’t use that word. I hate it.”

“My little sister is way too easy to upset,” he laughs. “Pussy.”

“Stop it!” She covers her ear, blushing.

I’m staring at her. “Are you a virgin?”

Her eyes shoot over to meet mine. “What? No! I’m twenty-six. That would be weird.”

The cocktail waitress returns with my drink. While she bends to clear empty glasses, she asks, “Would you like another one?”

This distracts Jocelyn for a moment.

Jordan and I lock eyes, and he nods, letting me know she is one, and he’s proud of it. I’m sure Jameson and Josh feel the same. I bet they’ve sheltered her from harm and in so doing have kept her in what might as well be a prison.

Grabbing my martini I drink it down in one try, not bothering to wait for a fucking toast. Slamming the empty glass on the table I gasp for air. “Jocelyn, your brothers are too protective of you. If I had a sister, I’d probably do the same. But do yourself a favor and go get laid. You’re gorgeous and almost thirty. Cut the leash and be free.”

Jordan’s eyes darken like he’s going to punch me, while Jocelyn has turned bright red.

I rise up and make impatient strides to the elevator, thinking it’s a good thing I won’t be having kids. I’d be overprotective, like they are.

  I know I would be.

But I wouldn’t be able to help it.

If I had a daughter, I’d be a fucking mess.

Thank God that’ll never fucking happen.

  Jaimie

Over breakfast the next morning in my father’s suite I get a text from Kate.

You see the YouTube video of your boyfriend yet???

Frowning down at my phone, I type quickly.

  What video? No. Why?

A link explodes onto the text window. Clicking it immediately, my eyes go wide on secret footage that’s shot poorly — clearly amateur — but that’s not the part that matters. In fact, that gives the video more weight.

“Um, Dad?” I whisper, thunderstruck as word-banners flash across video cut together, taken over the span of fourteen days.
