Adore Me ~ Kelly Elliott Page 3

by Kelly Elliott

“When did you get that, Mr. Greene?”

“Last week.” He was suddenly grinning like a kid in a candy shop. “You’ll be the first one to take a ride in it.”

Did he mean to make that sound so sexual, or was it me? My gaze turned from the Audi to Blake, who was still smiling at the car. Yeah. It was just me.

“Come on,” he said, this time taking my hand and pulling me to the car. I laughed and shook my head.

“I’ll never understand how someone can get so excited about a car.”

He opened the door to reveal sleek black leather seats. Lifting his hand to my mouth, he brushed a kiss over the back.

“I only get excited about two things, princess. Cars and sex.”

Swallowing hard, I forced a smile. This was Blake. He flirted all the time, yet never with me. I’d seen him in action before, so this shouldn’t surprise me in the least, but it felt different. His flirtatious joke had sounded more like a promise than a tease. My body shuddered, part of me wanting to drag him back into my house. That was pure insanity on my part.

“Good to know,” I replied with a wink before slipping into the seat. When he shut the door, I quickly pulled in a deep breath and let it out just as fast. I had flirted back.

“I’m starving. I didn’t have any dinner last night,” I added as he climbed into the driver’s seat, hoping it would wipe away my last comment.

I looked at him, taking in his profile. Good Lord, the man was good looking. I mean, I had noticed how handsome he was before, but today it was like I was seeing him in a whole new light. My fingers itched to reach over and touch the unshaven hair on his jawline. I balled my fists and placed them in my lap. Before I could look away, Blake turned and looked at me. Then he frowned, and I couldn’t help but wonder if it was because I had been staring at him like a lovesick teenager.

“You haven’t eaten since lunch yesterday?”

Wait. Was that genuine concern in his voice?

“No,” I said softly before clearing my throat. “Um, no. Honestly, I had just woken up and taken a shower when I called you.”

“I was tempted to stay last night with you.”

  Thud.

  My stomach dropped.

“What? Oh my God. What did I say to you? Did I ask you to have sex with me? I’m so embarrassed.”

  “Morgan.”

“I mean, I know I was drunk. Truth be told, I don’t even remember seeing you at the bar, or you taking me home. Putting me into bed. If I came on to you, I’m so sorry.”

  “Morgan.”

“It’s just been a really long time since I’ve had sex, and you know how it is when you get drunk and you get horny. I mean, you say things to people you wouldn’t ever normally say things to. Like, hey, you’re so damn hot, and I really want to have sex with you. I mean, that could really go horribly wrong and—”

“Jesus, Morgan, please stop talking!” Blake cried out.

  My mouth shut instantly. “Sorry.”

He gripped the steering wheel and took a few seconds to stare out the front window before facing me again.

“You didn’t come on to me in any way, and I didn’t take advantage of you.”

I gasped. “Blake! It never even crossed my mind you would do that.”

He grinned. “Good, I’m glad to hear that.”

Chewing on my lip, I peeked over at him. “Did I say anything embarrassing? I mean, besides what I said a second ago?”

With a shrug, Blake answered, “Not really. I mean, you told me I had a big dick when you felt me up in the Uber.”

My eyes widened with shock, and my hand came up to my face. I could feel my cheeks growing hot with embarrassment. “Oh. My. God.” His face was void of all hints he was kidding. I wanted to crawl into a hole and stay there for the rest of my life.

How. Embarrassing. And how messed up is that? I touched Blake, and I don’t even remember it! That’s a bummer.

Blake had pulled out and was on his way to the restaurant, which was only a couple of blocks away.

“I’m so embarrassed. I don’t even know where to begin to apologize to you.” Blake shrugged. “I hope you know I would never do that if I was . . . well . . . if I was in my right mind. I’m not that type of person.”

Clearly I was that type of person around Blake.

He pulled into the parking lot of Magnolia Café and slipped easily into a spot. I focused straight ahead and wondered if he would be mad if I asked him to take me back home. There was no way I could sit across from him now.

When he reached for my hand, I couldn’t ignore the way it made my entire body prickle with goose bumps. I took a quick peek over to him, but he seemed to be unaffected by the touch.

  Damn. That sucks.

“Morgan,” he softly said before placing a single kiss on my wrist. My breathing picked up, and I prayed he didn’t notice. “I’m kidding. You didn’t do or say anything last night.”

I let out a breath and closed my eyes. “Thank God.”

“Now, if you do want to feel me up, I won’t complain. At all.”

Jerking my hand from his, I snapped my eyes open to see him giving me the most brilliant smile I’d ever seen. His dimple was on full display. My chest tightened, and there was no way I could ignore the way my lady bits tingled at the idea.

“You asshole! You made me think I did that nearly the whole drive here!”

He laughed, making me smile as I pushed his shoulder before climbing out of the sports car.

“Sorry! I had to, princess.” Blake reached for my hand and intertwined his fingers with mine. We walked hand in hand into the café. My heart was pounding as I searched through my memory for a time when he held my hand before. Never! But again, we’d never been alone together before.

Had Rich ever held my hand? Of course he had, but it had never made my heart feel like it was about to beat out of my chest. Mike had, in the beginning. In the end, he hardly touched me.

I erased all thoughts of Rich and Mike and thought to the few times I had been with Blake. The day he picked me up to drive out to Nash’s for the proposal. Had he taken my hand at all? He hadn’t. We’d talked like we were the best of friends, though, during the entire drive out there. It was so comfortable. Not a moment of awkward silence.

  “Morgan? Hello? Where are you?”

Blake’s fingers snapping in front of my face brought me back to the moment. “S-sorry. I was thinking about something and got lost in the memory.”

He winked, and I focused on the hostess. “Table for two?” she asked, letting her eyes roam over Blake.

With a sweet grin, Blake replied, “Yes, ma’am.”

As we made our way to the back corner, he placed his hand on my lower back again and gently guided me in the direction the hostess had gone. My head was spinning, and it confused me beyond belief. Why in the world was Blake having this effect on me? What was happening? Was I that much in need of sex? And not just sex, but sex with Blake?

Blake pulled out the chair for me, and I slipped into it. As he sat, I took him in. The way he brushed his fingers through his hair. The way he grinned at the young girl and thanked her. The way his eyes flickered up and met mine. The idea hit me all over again, all at once.

  Sex with Blake.

That was what I wanted. A onetime, casual hookup with a man I knew, was attracted to, trusted, and clearly had a connection with. How easy was that?

He smiled, and I returned the gesture.

Now, how do I present this plan to him without him laughing his ass off? That is the burning question.

FLEXING MY HAND, I tried to ignore the way it tingled after touching Morgan. I tried to ignore the way my heart felt like it stopped each and every time she smiled. Or laughed. Or looked at me. Or fucking took a breath.

Get it together, Blake. Now. And stop flirting with her.

Hell, this woman was one of the reasons I’d moved out of the state. There was no way I could let it happen. Not then, and not now. Not wi
th Morgan. We were friends. She was Nash’s sister. And she was staring at me like she wanted me too.

Morgan was deep in thought again, and the way those blue eyes seemed to look into my soul scared the bejesus out of me. I had worked hard to not show any interest in her, but she was clearly picking up on the sexual connection between us, thanks to my teasing. I knew she felt it. Every time I touched her, her body trembled, and it sent a shock straight to my cock.

I smiled, and she smiled back.

Stop picturing her naked, you asshole. Stop dreaming of what her skin feels like. Or how she would feel wrapped in your arms.

I couldn’t help but wonder what Morgan would be like as a lover. Would she be a shy, inexperienced lover? Maybe she was a devil in bed and could teach me a thing or two. No fucking way. Not Morgan. And truth be told, I was leaning on the side of hoping she was shy and would need me to teach her a few things.

Clearing my throat, I focused back on the menu. Nash would cut my balls off if he knew what I was thinking about.

“I know what I’m getting. You?” Morgan asked, setting her menu down and snapping me out of my dirty thoughts. I already knew what I was getting. The same thing I always got when I came here.

  “Yeah, I know.”

My voice sounded strained, and I took a long drink of water to cool myself after I had let my thoughts go wild.

The waitress came over and looked at Morgan first.

  “Know what you want, sweetheart?”

“I do. I most certainly do.”

My eyes lifted to see her staring at me again. My throat bobbed as I attempted to swallow when she pulled that lower lip between her lips and bit down on it.

  Is she flirting with me?

The idea of it nearly made me laugh. No freaking way.

She ordered, but I didn’t hear a damn thing she said.

“And for you, handsome?” the waitress asked.

Clearing my throat yet again, I pushed aside the idea that Morgan was coming on to me. “Yeah, I’ll take the Mag Scramble.”

Morgan giggled. “You’re ordering the same thing as me?”

The waitress took my menu and headed toward the kitchen. “It’s my favorite thing on the menu.”

  “Same here.”

“We have good taste,” I replied, flashing her a grin. When her smile turned into something more purposeful, I glanced around the restaurant.

“Blake, I have a proposition for you.”

“What’s that?” I asked, glancing at the boxer lying under the table outside on the patio.

Maybe I should get a dog. I could see myself with a dog. Someone to hang out with. A running partner. A warm body to snuggle up to at night.

Snuggle up to at night? Jesus, what is happening to me?

  “It’s a onetime, no-strings-attached kind of thing.”

That piqued my interest as I looked her directly in the eyes.

“Okay, is it a party or something you need a date for?”

The corner of her mouth rose slightly. “We could make it a party . . . for two.”

Drawing in my brows, I let out a confused chuckle. “What?”

She leaned in, letting her tits sit all nice and pretty on the table as if they were on display.

Eyes, Blake. Stay focused on her eyes.

Then she said the word. The magical word that had my entire body coming to her full attention.

“Sex. You and me. One night together with as much sex as we can fit in. After that we go back to this . . . to being friends.” She motioned between us with her hand and flashed me an innocent smile.

I coughed, which led to a full-on coughing fit, which had everyone in the place looking at me. One man stood up and came over to see if I was okay. He patted his hand on my back a little too hard. I was pretty positive he had overheard Morgan’s . . . proposition.

Lifting my hand, I said, “I’m fine.”

Morgan sat there, leaning back in her chair, arms folded across that perfect chest of hers, a smirk on her face.

Once I could form words, I glared at her. “That was not funny. And it was mean, too.”

Her brow quirked. “It wasn’t meant to be funny. Why is asking for a night of sexual pleasure mean?”

I wasn’t sure how many times I opened and closed my mouth to speak. Ten? Maybe even twelve. Possibly twenty. It felt like an eternity before I finally could answer. Morgan ended up talking first. Saving me from looking like a complete fool.

“Thank you for taking me home last night and making sure I was safe. I should have started with that before I told you I wanted a night of sex.”

I reached for my water, finished the entire glass, and set it on the table. Someone was there instantly to refill it. When they walked away, I leaned in and narrowed my eyes at her.

“Do you hear what you’re saying? Are you still drunk?”

She laughed and leaned forward. “I am very sober, and I’m being serious. I need sex, Blake. I haven’t been with a guy in a long time, and I’m tired of using . . . other means . . . to make myself come.”

I groaned and closed my eyes as I buried my face into my hands. It was like both a dream come true and a nightmare. This was my karma coming to cash in on my ass.

“Who better to ask than a friend? Someone I know. Someone I trust. Someone I’m attracted to. A guy who will take care of me in all the right ways.”

“Fuck,” I mumbled. “Morgan. Stop. For fuck's sake, you were just in a bar last night drowning the memory of your ex.”

Her eyes dropped to her hands. It had probably been a dick move to bring that up, but it was true. “If the drinking couldn’t drown him out of your thoughts, I don’t think one night of fucking me will do it.”

Morgan’s eyes lifted to meet mine. “My reasons for last night are not what you think. When Mike killed himself, it devastated me. But something strained things between us in the end. I think . . .”

Her voice cracked and she sat up straighter. “I give myself one time a year to mourn his death and let myself drown in guilt.”

  “Guilt?” I asked.

She nodded. “I couldn’t make him happy. I couldn’t see he was hurting. I never saw the signs. He told me in his note he had been having an affair. I couldn’t seem to get anything right when it came to Mike. So forgive me for giving myself one night a year to get shit-faced over it.”

I scrubbed my hands down my face. “I’m sorry, Morgan.”

She turned away, trying to get her emotions in check before she focused back on me.

Morgan lifted her chin and said, “Be honest with me. Are you not interested in me that way?”

Dropping my hands to the table, I stared at her like she was an idiot. “Not interested in you?” I laughed. “If you only fucking knew.” I looked away and then back to her. “I’ve already pictured you naked and imagined my mouth exploring every inch of your body.”

She squirmed in her seat as she bit her thumb.

  “Don’t do that.” I growled.

“Do what?” she asked, her breath a little husky sounding.

“Don’t sit there and squirm like you’re horny.”

“What if I am, and even more so since you so graciously gave me that visual? What else would you do to me, Blake?”

My dick grew hard, and I had to reach down to adjust the fucker.

“What?” I asked in a cracked voice.

“Tell me what else you want to do to me, Blake. I want to hear.”

Widening my eyes in shock, I looked around the restaurant then back to Morgan as she smirked.

Okay, so she wanted to play it that way. I could play, and I could beat her. Little minx. I knew exactly how to scare her off.

“After thoroughly kissing your mouth, I would make my way down your neck to your chest. I’d suck on each nipple, giving each one plenty of attention before I moved my mouth down your stomach. Over to each hip, then down your inner thigh.”

Her tongue wet her lips. “Just one thigh?”

>   I groaned and closed my eyes for a moment before piercing her eyes with mine again. “No. I’d kiss you down one leg, then back up the other.”

Morgan stared at me. Her chest rose and fell, and I wasn’t sure if she was nervous or excited. I forced myself to believe she was nervous, having realized she had gone too far.

God, if only I could tell her what I would do next. Spread her open and taste her. Lick her and play with her clit until she screamed my name over and over as she came on my face.

  “Blake?”

I cleared my throat. “Then I would realize who I had in my bed and stop.”

The disappointment on her face was clear, and it nearly gutted me. “You’d stop?”

The sound of her voice nearly had me taking it all back. A part of me wanted to stand up and pull her to my car. Take her back to my place and teach her a damn lesson. The other part, the sensible part, reminded me that this was my best friend's sister. A friend who I valued and didn’t want to lose, even if I’d had more wet dreams about her than I cared to count.

“Yes. Morgan, I would stop. What are you doing here? Nash would kill me if he knew what in the hell we were talking about right now. It’s not like it would ever happen, anyway.”

She nodded slowly and looked away. I could see the tears forming in her eyes, and I had never hated myself more than I did in that moment.

I reached for her hand, and she pulled it away, placing it with her other hand in her lap.

  “Morgan.”

Shaking her head, she replied, “It’s okay, Blake. I understand. I’m sorry I even said anything.”

I exhaled loudly and jerked my hand through my hair. “Morgan, listen.”

Holding up her hand, she forced a smile. “Please, let’s just forget I even said anything. It was a stupid idea, and I should have known you, of all people, would never be interested in someone like me.”

“Someone like you? What the hell does that mean?”

She shrugged. “Please . . . can we forget all of it? It’s like you said, I was just sitting in a bar getting drunk over another guy.”

  “Morgan, let me—”

She gave me a pleading gaze. “Please. Can we forget this ever happened?”
