Book II The Tapestry of Love Page 4

by Daniel Ferguson

rainbow’s gone,

and the sun has given way to the dark blue of the night,

we’ll still be making love on a quilt of many colors long into the naissance of light.

I look into your rainbow eyes,

  touch your face,

  and then hold you close.

As we lay on our blanket in the middle of the wood,

  the stars all shine,

or is that the fairies dancing all above and around us?

  Either way’s okay with me.

For you’re the only star I see.

As one day fades into the next,

we find ourselves slow dancing on our blanket of many colors.

  THIS MOMENT

My past is my path behind me.

My future is my road before me.

All that I consider in this moment creates my past,

and sets me up for my future.

  Every choice I’ve ever made

has taken me to this place,

  to this day…

  in this moment.

Now as I dwell within the now,

I ponder nothing but the moment.

  We are one,

  this moment and I…

though the world around me continues to move,

this moment and I choose to rest.

And as I clear my thoughts and think of nothing,

all that exists is this moment… and me.

  NAKED CLOUDS

I'm floating on the tide of a beautiful day,

sitting on the beach in an amiable way.

I'm floating on the tide of life,

drifting over the clouds of doubt.

But there was a time I rode the wind on a reckless roller coaster.

It was like dreams made from heaven dipped in hell.

  I stumbled to my knees,

and on my knees I was a child lost in sorrow.

  Humbled by my past,

I find myself walking along the beach,

and like the plants in winter without their leaves,

I too leave my worn-out clothes behind.

Nostalgia is left to drift out with the tide.

I walk the broken waves to refresh my feet.

I wonder as the water settles beneath the sand,

where am I now from where I stand?

  WINDOW OF SIGH

The winter storms are before us now.

I dream of my heart meeting another hear,

But for now I dream alone.

Here I sit looking out the window of sigh.

I ponder…understanding it takes time to make a relationship work.

I stretch out my hands to hold on to someone,

but just when I think it's right,

I soon find out it never was.

In the wrong place at the wrong time…

  I guess.

A broken heart will always mend.

Dead flowers in the window of sigh.

  I smell them… thinking,

a broken heart will always cry.

I ponder the thought as I wipe away my tears.

I'd rather have a broken heart that I know will mend,

over one that is afraid to live.

Someday I will find my true love.

Perhaps today we will find each other…?

  ALMOST GONE

  Listen to the wind blow.

The sounds creeping through the branches of the foliage.

  The light and shadow,

watch the way it changes the colors of the essence,

  the essence of the now.

  Cherish the colors presented.

  Cherish the words not spoken.

The beauty you behold is soon to become the past.

Beyond the mountains yonder the sun is almost gone.

  DREAMING OF THINGS TO COME

  I dream of you.

  I dream of me.

I dream of us being free.

I dream of yesterdays gone by.

  I dream of flying,

  of war,

  and of love.

I dream of things so fantastically unreal.

I dream of things that shall never be.

I dream of things you'll never see.

  Rather I’m awake or asleep,

dreaming things are a part of me.

Today I do what needs to be done.

  When tomorrow arrives…

I shall continue dreaming of things to come.

  IN THE MOOD OF TIME

Whispers of a time passed echo

deep in the channels of my soul.

  Whispers of tomorrow are shadows

hidden behind doors yet to be opened.

In the now is where I stand,

for this moment is all that exists.

  The moment…

  cherish the moment.

  For the when...

  and the then...

  are never in the now,

  whispers the yellow cow.

  The photo fades.

The mood of time changes with the seasons.

The now is like the bow of a ship…

  it leads the way.

  Who’s leading you…

  Your past…

  Your future…

  Or the now…?

  LAUGHTER

  Throw away the anger.

  Throw away the lust.

Don’t forget to make peace with yourself.

Don’t be afraid to forgive others.

Wipe away the tears running down your face.

Don’t be afraid to look at yourself.

  Check the place you’re in.

  Take a chance,

  and make love come true.

  Be it a vision within,

or a daydream that haunts your soul.

Learn to enjoy life and the words of peace.

Learn to let the Creator guide your feet.

Don't go to sleep without your mind at peace with yourself,

  and the ones you love.

Be forgiving and don’t forget to smile…

  Laughter is the medicine.

  Food for thought,

laughter can help mend you heart.

  Make love to life…

And life will give you joy…!

Where there is mystery there is magic, where there is magic there is hope, and where there is hope… there is always a light to guide us on this journey we call life. (inspired by my Grandpa and Grandma Butler, Clyde and Mayble )
