The Colony Box Set Page 28

Sensing opportunity, Eden shoved the messenger off the cliff’s edge. He landed face first on the rock floor, instantly dead.

“Bitch!” Aionios shouted, slapping her face. She fell to the ground. In a panic, the dark deity ran to his throne. Stored in a rock gap, he unveiled the gun Commander Grey had discarded. Taking it into his hands, he pointed it towards the stairs.

Dylan led the way, arriving at the loft’s top. He paused, shocked to see Aionios with a handgun. It wasn’t his usual style. “You don’t even know how to use that,” Dylan said.

Aionios fired a shot past Mr. Hunter’s head. “There is nothing I can’t do!”

  “Including die,” Dylan challenged.

“I’m immortal,” Aionios said with confidence.

“Care to put that to a test?” Dylan asked.

“No, but I’ll gladly test yours,” he said, aiming the gun at Dylan’s heart. He fired, as a ball of flames erupted before him. To his shock, Eden leapt in front of the gun, taking the bullet for Dylan. The spark set her ablaze in sacrifice.

A blood-curdling scream escaped her singed throat, echoing off the walls. Her raven hair burned red, skin turned to ash. Shock and sadness covered Dylan’s face. Looking down at her, he realized she was actually capable of loving someone.

For once in her life, she chose sacrifice over self, love over survival. As much as he’d come to resent her, he’d be indebted to her act of redemption. Gunner and Jenna weren’t nearly as upset.

Aionios aimed the weapon at Dylan again. He fired, getting a click in return. Tossing the gun away, the dark deity tried dragging Eden off the cliff’s edge. His intention was to ignite the lake of Paradox. Unable to do so, the flames burned his hands.

He shouted in pain and anger, forced to let her charred corpse burn in peace. Each citizen was going mad down below, making animalistic noises, attacking each other savagely.

Dylan approached, seeing a hazed Alexa on the floor. She stared blankly at her husband, as if she’d never remember him again. Anger filled Mr. Hunter, as Aionios was responsible for her mind’s affliction. Gunner extended his long sword, handing it over. “Chop his balls into mince, mate!”

Mr. Hunter grabbed it by the blade, approaching the distant deity. After holding the sword’s tip to the black man’s body, Hunter tossed it away. “I want these fools to see truth...you’re not a god. You can be beaten!”

The muscular deity laughed, having been trained in the art of battle. Stepping up to Dylan, Aionios accepted the challenge. His dark fist was thrown, knocking Dylan to the ground. Mr. Hunter was about to see how mortal the enemy truly was.

Commander Grey barely spoke the words, when cannibals dropped like raining fire. They descended from the ceiling, where hundreds more holes awaited. Crashing downward, they landed upon their armed enemy.

Men cried out in pain, bones crushed against hard volcanic floor. The guards, who managed to get up, were attacked with sharp teeth. One was bitten on the head, blood spraying like a shaken soda can. Another’s eyes were chewed out. Some had their stomachs sliced, entrails yanked like jump rope.

By the time the last native landed, the fight was even. Some guards swung their gun butts, smashing savage heads. Others aimed for the enemies’ legs, knocking them down by kneecaps.

For every cannibal defeated, a guard fell in his place. The last man standing was Commander Grey, covered in his own blood. Ten savages remained, encircling him. They hissed and squealed in their language’s most terrible curses.

“You want me?” A furious commander asked, blaming them for the root of his fear. They slowly closed in upon him. “Come get me!” he shouted in fury.

He reached behind his waist, grasping for his ammo belt. Before the first cannibal reached him, Fredrick unveiled a grenade. Not knowing what it was, the red-faces continued their attack.

The commander pulled the weapon’s pin, getting full advantage of the moment. His jugular was torn out the neck, boiling blood ingested. With every precious bite of flesh, Fredrick hung on for the finale.

His dying eyes rolled upward, preparing a last breath. Suddenly, a blast ripped from the main meal himself. The circle of savages exploded, filled with shrapnel and torn to shreds. Bits and pieces of flesh sailed through the air, bathing the room in a deeper shade of red.

Fredrick Grey was dead, though he stayed alive long enough to witness his revenge.

  *****

Rising to his feet, Dylan charged Aionios. He rammed the powerful enemy’s solid stomach. Catching his opponent by the neck, the dark deity flung Dylan away. Hunter rolled across the rocky floor, coming face to face with Alexa. She returned his eye contact, minus the warmth. He moved in to kiss her, hoping it would spark emotion, memory. Right before he could reach her lips, Mr. Hunter was dragged away by his feet.

Aroused citizens erupted in cheers. The only thing they loved more than sex was death and destruction.

Gunner eyed his sword on the floor, wanting to jump in. Rudd stopped him, holding his arm. “He has to finish it, live or die, kid.”

“For these sheep? Who gives a shite what they think?”

“Not for them...for her,” he said, pointing at a dazed Alexa.

Dragged towards the cliff’s edge, Dylan’s fingers scraped along the rock floor. Managing to grab hold of a rocky ridge, he came to a hard stop. Aionios yanked harder, falling backwards to the ground.

Dylan rose, leaping upon the strong black man. Landing on the muscular frame, Hunter’s balled fists struck the deity's face. Having never been hit in adulthood, Aionios was pained by the punishing blow. He’d been so protected from losing over his years, he didn’t know how to win. The man was introduced to the paralyzing feeling of fear.

Fury covered Dylan’s tense face. All his anger spilled out, pummeling Aionios’ cheek mercilessly. The harder his fist hit, the more blood spilled from the deity’s nose. His head banged against the hard floor.

It was at that moment, a glimmer of life returned to Alexa’s eyes. Seeing Dylan fight for her, a memory crept into mind. It was the day he learned of her cheating. She finally began to remember him, struck by the crucial moment, which changed their lives forever. To her eyes, it was Dylan punching Thomas, possessed by the same rage. With every blow she saw, another memory came rushing back.

“Dylan!” she called out, making him turn towards her.

A large smile crossed his face. “You remember!”

Their reunion was short-lived, as a dark fist struck Dylan’s distracted face. Hunter keeled over in pain, as Aionios flipped his opponent. Dylan’s dark hair was grabbed, he was dragged to the cliffside. Mr. Hunter was flung off. He grasped onto the very edge. A wounded Aionios laughed, hearing his people cheer crazily.

The deity kneeled down to the edge. His voice was low, face bloodied. “Now...you die!” he taunted.

Mr. Hunter looked over to his friends. Gunner and Rudd moved in, though they were too far to reach him in time. A large black foot was aimed at Dylan’s hand. Forced to let go, he hung on with one. Knowing he was done for, he couldn’t die without letting his wife know. “Alexa! I wanted to be a father...to our child! I’m sorry.”

Aionios’ face crimped in threatened anger. “It’s my child!” he shouted, lifting his foot to stomp Dylan’s last hold. Mr. Hunter shut his eyes. The foot landed, though the fatal pain belonged to another.

Looking upward, Dylan saw a black glassy sword through Aionios’ chest. His beating heart was thrust outward, pierced from behind. It still beat, hushing the crowd. They were forced to face the man’s humanity.

The crowd suddenly went crazy, rage flowing inside them. The dark deity fell from the cliffside. His large body crashed to the floor. Alexa was revealed behind him, the Obsidian sword in hand. The beating heart was still present.

Gunner ran over, pulling Dylan to solid ground. A tearful Alexa dropped the sword. “Dylan...I’m so sorry,” she said, breaking down in tears, taking refuge in her husband’s arms.
She embraced him desperately tight.

Fury filled the citizens, carrying their master into the Paradox lake. In sobs of sorrow, they fought to kiss Aionios’ flaccid cock. Each one shouted curses up at Dylan and his group.

“You’re free now!” Dylan shouted, trying to reason with them. “You don’t have to die for him! It was all a lie!”

“Avenge Aionios! Dismember them!” a citizen shouted. A cheer sounded.

Dylan watched in disbelief. A few crazed citizens exited the Paradox pool. Charging the stairs, they were ready to kill with their bare hands. Rudd grabbed the flaming torch, handing it to Mr. Hunter. “Do the honors, kid.”

Hunter took the torch in confusion. Waiting until the first soaked citizen reached the top, he hoped they’d stop. They kept charging like the useful idiots they were. “I don’t want to kill these people.”

Gunner chimed in. “Mate...back in Wales...we have a saying. If it’s a choice between them or us...kill them.”

Dylan nodded. After another moment of pause, he flung the torch at the first man. Sailing in a circular pattern, the flame whipped around, forming a perfect sphere. Landing directly into the chest of the attacker, he burst into flames.

His eruption followed the dripping Paradox trail behind him. The next man in line exploded, falling backwards into a woman. Like a set of flaming dominos, the fiery trail flowed down the stairs.

Snaking its way down, it ignited the lake of Paradox. A hellish ball of flames rose like a kraken. The lake of fire was born. Cave drafts whipped the reddish orange blur in tornado-like circles. Its heat incinerated the sacrificial citizens, felt by Dylan and his group. What took years to create, collapsed in moments.

Even with the knowledge of the false god, the citizens were so blinded to partisan loyalty, they would’ve sacrificed themselves without Paradox. Had they looked around, proof of his lies were everywhere. Though, they never bothered.

Dylan shielded Alexa from the harsh heat, lifting her into a cradle carry. The crew avoided the flames, rushing for the cave’s exit.

Although not exactly as written, the reaping was complete.

  Part IV-Epilogue

  Three Days Later

For the first time, the sun rose upon a free colony. After the sacrifice, Dylan rushed Alexa to the temple, where she underwent detox. Pushed to the edge of death, Mrs. Hunter’s reason to live became clearer with everyday.

Not only did she remember her husband again, she felt the love that was absent over the weeks. It wasn’t only the Paradox that numbed her mind, but a desperate desire for sexual edge and motherhood. Though having been denied love for the first time, she finally understood its value. Greater than sex or status, not even gold could outweigh its worth.

After touring the blood stained sands and forest, Dylan, Alexa, Gunner, Jenna, and Rudd prepared Commander Grey’s motorboat. It was stocked with provisions, plenty to sustain them until the nearest island. With map in-hand, the group pushed it to the shore’s edge. They entered, though Dylan and Alexa didn’t budge.

“Hop in, mate,” Gunner said. “Time to head home.”

After a long look around, Dylan said, “I think we’re home already.”

“Kid...did you break into the Paradox cabinet?” Rudd asked in a half-joking manner.

Dylan asked, “What’s there to go back to? A world of disappointment...loss...hate? A world with nothing left to believe in.”

“And what’s left here?” Rudd asked. “Everything’s gone. Dead.”

“The more I think about it...this is the place we were promised. Maybe it’s even heaven itself....once claimed by devils.”

“Mate, you’re either brilliant...or bloody fecking nuts,” Gunner said, stepping to the boat’s edge. The two men hugged, having saved each other’s lives. Rudd hugged Dylan. Jenna and Alexa shed tears, having been each other’s only support.

“Well, kid...I guess this is the end,” Rudd said.

  “No, Rudd. It’s just beginning.”

Dylan pushed the boat into deeper water. The motor was started, boat sped away. The Hunters held each other, watching their friends drift into the rising sun. Watching for miles, the three faded into a distant fog. They faded from the island forever.

  *****

Alexa and Dylan entered the temple. The curvy blond embraced her husband again, addicted to his love. “I’m sorry,” she said. “For everything...back then...and now. I’m sorry I asked you to come here.”

  “I wouldn’t change a thing.”

  “You wouldn’t?”

  “No.”

  “Why not?”

“Because...it would’ve never led us to this,” he said. Leaning in to her lips, he offered a soft, sensual kiss. “Let’s have a child.”

Hearing his sincere words, Alexa dove into him. Their tongues danced in deep passion, drinking each other like sweet wine. Dylan lifted the curvy blond into his strong arms.

Laying her down on the plush bed, he spread her legs. Burying his head between her thighs, he let her feminine juices awaken his soul. Lifting her legs in the air, her back was forced flat. Alexa’s golden blond hair shined like the walls, porcelain skin glowed like a low-lying sun. Her C-cup breasts rose like soft mountains, vaginal lips glistened like morning due on pink tulips.

Gently rubbing his cock head against her soft slit, he entered the velvet valley. Not having worshipped upon such ground in weeks, he ached for her voluptuous body. Alexa gasped, feeling his 9-inch spear snag her snatch.

Although he didn’t possess the length or girth of Aionios, she’d never felt a bigger impact, deeper or wider. The presence of his cock alone, could never be matched by anyone, deity or mortal alike.

Leaning into her mouth, he restarted the kiss. His broad chest touched hers, pressing her heaving breasts like wine grapes. Their beating hearts immediately synced to a steady rhythm.

Dylan pumped her slowly and deeply. Every inch of her paradise clung to his cock, massaging every gland in whirling wetness. Mr. Hunter gripped his wife tightly in his arms, fighting not to cum too soon.

However, it was unavoidable and welcomed. His pace picked up, pumping and pounding his blond wife with passion and vigor. Their kiss sped as well, tongues snaked and sucked.

In moments, Dylan lost the battle of stamina. He stiffened, blasting his familiar load inside his wife’s womb. She felt it seep inside her, cleansing past mistakes, healing the future.

Heavy heat enflamed Alexa’s flume, fulfilling her greatest erotic desire. As much as she wanted to be a mother, her deepest need was to carry Dylan’s child. For a time, her mind rejected the notion as impossible. Though, it was becoming reality.

Alexa moaned, her curvy body writhed wildly underneath Dylan’s. She could barely contain herself, feeling unending streams of white seed her belly. Husband and wife trembled inside each other’s arms, baptized in sweet sweat. Although it was unlikely Mrs. Hunter would conceive at that time, it would happen soon enough.

Finishing their passionate love making, the two approached the golden thrones. Although Dylan had no desire for power, one sitting upon the kingly chair changed his perspective. Alexa joined his side, as the two sat hand in hand.

It was at that moment, Dylan realized the place he’d imagined could exist. The perfection he sought could be started by the couple, one child at a time. Thoughts of expansion were born, using The Colony’s existing infrastructure, capitol, and connections, inviting the worthy to join them. His ideal could live on for eternity. Whether that power would corrupt him, would be a tale for another time.

He looked towards Alexa, flashing an eager smile. Seeing the look upon his face, she knew what was on his mind. “Go ahead,” she said in supportive fashion. “Say it.”

Gazing forward, it was as if a crowd of worshippers bowed at his feet. His announcement was loud and commanding, ensuring his voice would be heard throughout land.

  “I am Aionios!”
