   About the Authors
   Ian Rankin is the multi-million copy worldwide bestseller of over thirty novels and creator of John Rebus. His books have been translated into thirty-six languages and have been adapted for radio, the stage and the screen.
   Rankin is the recipient of four Crime Writers’ Association Dagger Awards, including the Diamond Dagger, the UK’s most prestigious award for crime fiction.    Rona Munro has written extensively for stage, radio, film and television. Her theatre credits include Lucy Barton – a one-woman show performed by Laura Linney at The Bridge Theatre London in 2018; The James Plays – a trilogy of award-winning plays produced by the National Theatre of Scotland, The National Theatre UK and Edinburgh International Festival; Scuttlers; Little Eagles and Iron, for which she won the John Whiting Award in 2003. Her television credits include the BAFTA-nominated Bumping the Odds, and her films include the Ken Loach film Ladybird Ladybird, and Oranges and Sunshine, directed by Jim Loach. Her work for radio includes several dramas for The Stanley Baxter Playhouse. Rona is the only writer so far to have contributed episodes to both the ‘classic’ and contemporary series of Doctor Who.
