Secrets & Lies
Book 1 in The Secrets & Lies Trilogy
by Joanne Clancy
Synopsis:
Kerry Darcy has loved Conor, her childhood sweetheart, for more than twenty years. They’ve built their dream home, raised a happy family and are still madly in love.
Hope Kennedy seems to have it all; a fabulous job, a luxurious apartment and best of all she’s married to her soulmate, Niall.
Two very different women, two perfect husbands; but what happens when their lives horribly collide?
The terrible force of chaos ensues; a force that takes its fateful hold on time and place. It ruptures the present, warps the future, replacing order with confusion, confidence with trepidation and control with powerlessness. Lives are ended for some, changed forever for others and a most significant chain of events is about to unfold with catastrophic results.
Reviews:
Secrets & Lies was a wonderful story. It kept building momentum as the stories of Kerry's and Hope's lives unfolded. The author described the characters in vivid detail and you felt as though you knew them by the end of the novel. There are also hints as to their lives possibly intersecting in the following sequels, which promise to be very interesting considering the cliff-hanger of an ending! I feel compelled to read Aftermath to see exactly what lies ahead for these characters...~Michele H., Amazon
Having read a few previous books by this author, which I'd also enjoyed. I have to say that Joanne Clancy just gets better and better every time and as a result this is a polished and well thought-out, intriguing story. It follows the lives of a couple of female main characters. Kerry who's married to Conor and Hope who's married to Niall and it sure makes you wonder how these two, very different ladies are connected and I don't want to spoil anything, but could it be their husbands? The sex scenes were handled really well as I've come to expect, for Joanne Clancy has a knack of making them downright sexy without being 'cringey' which is a major skill in itself. I got stuck into this novel right from the start and raced to finish it, seeing as I was carried away on a simple basis of wanting to find out what happens next. In fact, it's such a page-turner that I nearly missed my doctor’s appointment when they'd called out my name, but I was so engrossed in reading it that I didn't hear them until the nurse tapped me on the shoulder and I nearly dropped my Kindle. I can't wait for the second book in this trilogy to be produced and if you read it too then you'll understand, why! ~ Maureen Reil, Amazon

Reviews:
Halfway through the book, the author throws us a left curve...which totally blows us away.I can't say any more, or I will spoil it for others. Just read this book.I was then glued to the book until the end.I can't wait for the 3rd part of the trilogy , "Redemption", which I believe Joanne said will be available in the winter. These are well written novels and so enjoyable to read.
~ Coccotoro, Amazon
I truly look forward to reading book 3: Redemption since book 2 ended with quite a revelation. I highly recommend this series to readers who enjoy romance with a bit of mystery mixed in.
~ Michele H., Amazon
I enjoyed the 2nd book in the series almost as much as the first. The loose ends of the story are being pulled together. The characters are developing. There are more areas yet to be pulled together. The book keeps you guessing as to what is going to happen next.I am anxious to read the next book. ~ Lora, Amazon

Reviews:
This was an amazing novel to read. A definite 5 star rating. ~ Coccotorro, Amazon
I was hooked with the first book; the second book was great, so I had been eagerly awaiting the third book. I was not disappointed with this book. The emotional roller coasters each character endured all seemed realistic. A great trilogy to read. ~ Running Mom, Amazon
I also found the ending to be very fitting and hopeful, even with the after effects that a scenario like this can have on a family which was handled with great dignity. And I'm really looking forward to finding out what Joanne Clancy is writing next, seeing as I do seem to connect with her characters so readily that I know it'll be well worth my time to get my hands on any future works by this great storyteller. ~ Maureen Reil, Amazon

Reviews for The Wedding Day
This is a magical book, compressed into a magical area of Ireland, and set in one of my favourite cities, Cork, in the deep south west of that magical country. It spans the emotional lives of two people and their families and friends, and starts with an emotional disaster and ends with reconciliation and love. Using a deliberately small palette, Joanne Clancy has delineated a story which can go round the world, with implications and connections to anywhere in the world. So if you are fascinated by the myriad strands of human emotion, love and despair, hatred and disappointment, turning back to human warmth, buy this book. ~ John Walker, Amazon
I really loved this book. The setting and characters were great. The story line was perfect. First time I read this author and will read her other books. Pick this book up today. ~ Arod, Amazon

I enjoyed the story and the characters. Well written and well developed/developing characters. Very believable story. I look forward to reading more from this author! ~ Sharon, Amazon
I was actually saving this for a business trip that started with a 559 am flight, but I finished packing the Sunday before and decided to start reading early. The story is thoroughly enjoyable to this point, as I had no preconceptions on ht to expect.
My daughter was napping and the hubby was at the movies so I've demolished 110 pages in less than two hours. :)
Polished it off on my flight and started the next book (Unfaithfully Yours). I encourage anyone to pick this up and read it, lazy weekend, beach/pool side read, rainy day, two & half hour flight... just read it!
There were times I applauded Rachel's attitude and drive to do something completely out of her comfort zone. There were other times I wanted her sister to smack some sense into the pea-brain I felt she had! (my sister would have been black & blue - if I had one).
The ending was something I did not see coming - but I didn't read the synopsis before I started the book, so I really enjoyed it.
Thank you for a fantastic read! ~ Woot, Amazon

Reviews:
It was amazing. I wasn't sure what I was expecting going into this book since it's called "My Love". I thought it would be about mushy love stories I think originally. It's not at all. I hate to say it is a book for women, but I feel most of my female friends would enjoy reading this book. It was insightful and inspiring at times. The beginning was a good lead into what the book would be about and helps set the tone for the book. I sat down and read this book on breaks and lunches at work and when I got home I sat down and finished it. I got a few pointers to take away from this book about myself, and I can honestly say I am taking some of this stuff to heart and going to try to apply it to my life.
I am looking forward to eventually reading more of Joanne's work and hopefully that will be soon. ~ Ashley, Amazon
Wow!! This book was so not what I expected from the title! I was expecting some sort of love story but was pleasantly surprised by some of the best love and relationship advice I've ever read. Having just gone through a divorce, a lot of the book really hit home for me. It's written in a conversational tone, like a girlfriend telling you what's what. It's common sense but the kind you don't think of for yourself while you're going through a situation. Joanne delivers the advice with personal anecdotes from her own life and you immediately remember the same thing happening to you.
The book itself is preceded by essays, including one which literally made me sob out loud. I won't say any more about that...it's something you have to read for yourself.
My opinion? Every woman from 15 to 85 should read and take this book to heart. It probably wouldn't hurt a few men I know to read it either!! ~ Jerrilynn Atherton, Amazon
Early in the book, the fourth essay is titled "Death of a Loved One." This essay seemed to come out of nowhere and completely left me in shock. Within a few moments, I was sobbing as quietly as I could so my family couldn't hear me and become concerned. I don't believe a book has caused me to cry so much before, at least none that I remember. I had to literally look away from the book and take a break. She really takes you there to that place of pain you experience when you've lost a loved one.
I don't want to give away exactly what this essay is about. I do want to express how utterly brave the author is in revealing the rawness of her pain and how much I admire her courage for including this in her book. It must have taken so much out of her just to write it.
