Bearly Midnight (Midnight, Mississippi Book 1)

“Let him go,” Colm said as calmly as he could.
“Oh, he’s mine now,” the vampire said with a smile. “You took too long to claim your mate, and I got him first.”
Colm met Reese’s stare and saw nothing there. It was as if Reese wasn’t Reese anymore.
The vampire inhaled along Reese’s neck. “Amazing another vamp hasn’t already found this tasty morsel. A human with a little wolf in him—his blood…” The vampire moaned. “His blood is the best thing I’ve ever tasted in my life.”
Colm took a step closer, but the vamp took hold of Reese’s head, acting as if he’d break Reese’s neck. “Such fragile creatures, humans. Even that little bit of wolf in him won’t save him from a broken neck.”
Theis moved past Colm and eyed the vampire. “If you kill him, you lose, too.”
The vampire’s hands seemed to loosen a little around Reese’s head. “True, but if I can’t have him, neither will you.”
“This isn’t why you came to Midnight,” Theis said. “You came to kill our king.”
The vampire smiled. “You think?” He chuckled. “Where oh where did you get that tidbit of information?”
“The Midnight Suns have long sought to own this city,” Theis said, taking another step into the room.
“True,” the vampire said.
“I can’t imagine the leader of your clan would be happy to know you’re not doing the job he sent you to do,” Theis said, taking another slight step away from Colm.
It was diverting the vampire’s attention from Colm. He took a half step in, away from the direction Theis was taking.
“I can multitask,” the vampire said with a smile. “Amped up on this human’s blood, I can do just about anything.”
Theis took another partial step.
“Don’t think I don’t know what you’re doing, King’s Guardsman,” the vamp said, turning away from Colm.
It was all the time he needed. Colm shifted in a flash and knocked both the vamp and Reese to the ground. The vampire slashed at Colm, ripping through his chest with his claws.
Colm roared and pounced on the vampire. He lifted one palm before slashing through the vampire’s neck, severing it cleanly.
The body turned to ash… yet the head remained intact.
Theis pulled Reese into his arms and the pair stared at him, one with awe, the other with fear in their eyes. Life returned to Reese’s stare—yet Colm hated seeing the fear in the man’s eyes.
He shifted back to his human form, wincing at the feel of the cut to his chest.
“We need to get you both to the hospital,” Theis said.
Colm leaned down and lifted the vampire’s head by its long, black hair. “Why didn’t this turn to ash?”
“A head—if removed from the vampire’s body—will remain,” Theis said.
“Good. The king needs to know this bastard is dead,” Colm said. He took a pillow off the bed and peeled the case off it before tossing the head inside. He then peeled a sheet from the bed and wrapped it around Reese’s naked, shaking body.
“You’re okay now,” Colm said. “We’ve got you.”
Reese’s stare lifted to him. “Where did the two of you go?”
Colm winced. “We thought you would be safe in the building. I’d seen the sun symbol from the vampire’s hand on our way home. I’d taken Theis to show him. We thought the king was in danger.”
“Don’t leave me again,” Reese whispered.
“If you’d been claimed, the vampire wouldn’t have been able to tempt you,” Theis said, pressing a kiss to their human’s forehead. “You’d be safe from other paranormals and marked as ours.”
“Did they…” Colm couldn’t finish the question. He felt a sick feeling come over him. “Did they… do more than… bite you?”
If the vampires had raped him… Colm would want to kill the bastards all over again.
“No,” Reese answered.
Both Colm and Theis sighed with relief. Colm wrapped his arms around the both of them, squeezing tight.
Solomon came into the room, and a look of relief crossed his face. He smiled slightly. “Good to see you found him.”
“Thanks to you,” Theis said.
Solomon’s smile widened. Colm released Theis and Reese and offered the dragon a hand.
“Come now,” Solomon said as he took Colm’s hand. “I get more than a handshake.” Solomon pulled Colm into a hug, patting him on the back. The dragon released him and stepped closer to Reese and Theis. “I’m so very glad you’re okay,” the dragon said to Reese as he placed a hand on Theis’ shoulder.
“I owe you a big favor, Solomon,” Theis said.
“You owe me nothing. Friends watch out for theirs. You would do the same for me, if the roles had been reversed.”
“I would,” Theis agreed. “If I can ever repay my debt, you only have to ask.”
Colm grabbed the pillowcase. “We need to see the king.”
“You’re going to take that gruesome thing with us?” Reese asked.
“The king needs to know he’s safe from the assassin,” Theis answered as he ran a loving hand over Reese’s head.
“Can I drive a knife through it once he’s seen it?” Reese asked.
“After we get you checked out,” Theis agreed. “And make sure you’re well.”
Reese nodded, glaring at the sack.
****
Reese awakened, exhausted with a sense of terror filling him. The room was dark where he lay, and he felt two sets of hands grabbing him.
“Shhhh… you’re with us,” Theis said against his ear. “You’re safe.”
“We’ve got you,” Colm added from the other side.
Reese calmed, but his heart still thundered in his chest. The memories of the day before circled in his mind. The vamps… the fight… seeing Colm as a terrifying bear as he ripped the vampire to bits… He lifted his hand to the gauze and tape covering the bites on his neck. The hospital had said he had a clean bill of health, but he didn’t feel clean on the inside.
He turned to look at Colm’s dark profile, and then Theis’. They’d saved him, but he still felt the fear in his heart.
“You said something… that if I was claimed, I’d be safe,” Reese said.
“A claiming marks you,” Colm said. “Other paranormals can sense you’re mated and therefore protected by us.”
“And if word gets out about Colm destroying a whole den of vampires nearly single-handedly, I doubt anyone would even attempt to touch you,” Theis said. “But the more I think about it, maybe it’s best if you did leave.”
“You don’t want me here?”
“Of course I do,” Theis said. “But Midnight is a dangerous place. In the short time you’ve been here, the king considered killing you and you were kidnapped and nearly killed by vampires.”
“You said it yourself. If he was claimed, he’d be left untouched,” Colm said.
“He’s known us two days,” Theis said. “We can’t ask him to hand over forever to us in that short a time. You yourself said we needed more time. The longer he remains here, unmated, the more danger he’s in. And if the vampire was right—and that his blood draws them to him—he would lure them to him.”
“Then we don’t leave him alone. Ever.”
“He deserves freedom. To choose what he wants,” Theis argued. “We can’t simply mate him to protect him. He needs to want us, and it’s been two days, Colm.”
“I don’t want to leave,” Reese said. “I grew up knowing places and people like you existed, but unable to find them. I can’t go back to the regular world now.”
“Is that the only reason you want to stay?” Theis asked
“They’ll wipe my memory,” Reese said. “They’d steal all the things I’d seen. All the things I’ve done here.” He paused. “They’d steal my memories of you both.”
“You came in search of the unknown,” Theis said. “I need to know that’s not the only reason you want to stay in Midnig
ht.”
“I’ve never felt this wanted… nor have I ever wanted anyone with this kind of need,” Reese said. “I can’t leave that without knowing where it would lead. If claiming me will keep me here, with you, I want to stay.” He paused, wanting to be honest with them. “Of course, this world’s amazing and I want to explore every bit of it I can… but you two are the reason I don’t want to leave. Just the thought of it makes me sick inside.”
“Forever is a lot to give away,” Colm said. “Once you’re claimed, you’re ours forever.”
“And you’re mine forever,” Reese said.
A light was turned on in the bedroom, washing light over them.
Theis turned to him and met his stare. “Say it again… look me in my eyes and tell me what it is you want.”
“I want to you,” Reese said, holding the man’s stare. “I want to know how it feels to be completely yours,” he paused, turning to Colm. “And yours.”
Colm reached out and took him by the neck before dragging him close for a kiss.
He sighed into the kiss as he felt the two big, powerful men wrap their naked bodies around his.
Reese pushed back into the soft bed, his body throbbing with need. He’d never craved anyone as much as he did these two. Letting them go wasn’t an option, even if he’d barely had time to know them.
His soul knew them.
They were his protectors—and they would help him navigate this wild, amazing world at his side. Now that he knew where he belonged, here in their arms, there was no way he’d let the king send him away.
In time, he would learn them from the inside out. For now, he needed them inside him, filling him. He needed them to own his body, connect with his soul, and bind him to them.
Forever.
Colm kissed him again, stealing a moan from his lips. The big, powerful bear shifter swept his tongue into Reese’s mouth and tightened his hold, his hands tugging Reese even closer.
Theis wrapped his body around Reese’s back. Both of their hard cocks pressed into him, showing him exactly how much they desired him. He was hard and throbbing, as well… and ready to know how it felt to be taken by two big bears.
To go from a virgin to two big cocks in his ass was a mighty feat, but the pair toyed with him, slickened fingers sliding into his ass, one, two, and even three at a time. They stretched his body slowly, preparing him for what was to come.
The first time, there had been pain—but the pleasure that had come after had made what he’d endured worth it. Having them both inside his body wouldn’t be easy, but he needed it all the same.
The price for that pleasure would be pain.
They teased and tempted every bit of flesh they came into contact with, driving him insane with need. They shared him with total equanimity, without jealousy or fighting. Colm enjoyed watching Theis kiss him, from the looks of things. The big bear seemed to grow excited when they kissed each other.
Theis’ hand grazed across the head of Reese’s cock—the one spot both of them had ignored as they’d run their hands over nearly every inch of him—and then he cried out when they finally did. Theis finally encircled the base and grasped him tightly. He lifted his gaze, meeting Theis’ steady one. They stared at one another, their breathing coming in short, rough pants.
“Get him good and ready,” Colm said, sinking two thick fingers into Reese’s ass.
Theis tugged on Reese’s cock, his hand sliding to the tip and back down the length. A moan escaped Reese as he glanced down his body and watched the shifter’s hand working over his flesh. The rough touch made him cry out for more. His body tightened, already ready for release. Having both their hands on him was too much.
His body was so tense, he feared he might shatter into a million pieces. The orgasm built within, slow and steady to the point of breaking him.
Theis left a trail of kisses, moving his way down Reese’s body, and not slowing until he came into contact with Reese’s shaft.
Reese stiffened all the more, needing to feel the sweep of Theis’ tongue on his cock more than he needed the next breath in his lungs. Theis circled his tongue over the full head before consuming Reese completely. Colm pulled his fingers from Reese’s ass, leaving him empty.
He groaned his disapproval, but silenced as he felt the head of Colm’s cock pressed against his anus. The head was pushed a little deeper, spreading him apart. Reese moaned, waiting for that thick cock to finally enter him.
Colm waited, hovering just inside Reese’s body. Reese pushed back, trying to take more of Colm into his body, but the bear stopped him with a heavy hand on his lips. By the next slide of Theis’ mouth, Reese’s body stiffened and a groan raged from his lips.
The orgasm slammed into him as Theis sucked him down again. Colm forged in, sliding into Reese as the release took over—and it made the orgasm even more intense. Theis sucked every drop of Reese’s cum from him as Colm held him close. He laid his head back against Colm’s shoulder, his body shaking from the intensity of his release.
Completely exhausted, he couldn’t ignore the thick, heavy impalement inside him. He pushed back against Colm, loving the sensation. He felt completely owned, his body claimed…
But there was more to come before that truly happened.
Colm began to move within him. He pushed back against the roll of Colm’s hips, meeting the next stroke from the bear’s cock.
Reese lowered a hand to Theis’ cock and stroked the shaft. Hungry to give the same pleasure he’d been given, he urged Theis to rise. He took a few seconds to examine the thick cock before him. A pearl of seed escaped from the slit in Theis’ cock, and he lowered his head. After a quick swipe of his tongue, he tasted cum for the first time.
Greedily, he took a few inches down his throat.
Theis’ fingers threaded through his hair and coaxed him along. The shifter rolled his hips, setting the pace he wanted.
“I can’t hold off much longer,” Colm said, his body shaking.
Theis pulled from Reese’s mouth.
Colm pulled from Reese, too, leaving him completely empty. He didn’t like the sensation at all. Colm rolled with him until the big bear was under him, and they were facing one another. The head of Colm’s cock pressed against his ass without sliding in. Reese lifted a little and made sure the cock was in just the right spot before baring down. It almost entered him, but slid between his cheeks.
Colm groaned and reached behind them, angling his cock again. Reese could feel Theis’ hands helping push Colm into Reese’s ass. Slowly, the fat cock entered him. Straddling Colm’s hips, he sank onto the shaft, all while Theis held him and trailed kisses up the uninjured side of his neck. When he was fully impaled, Reese paused and stared down into Colm’s glowing eyes.
“Ready for me?” Theis asked, his voice calm and gentle.
Reese nodded, truly unsure if he could handle what came next. He was urged forward. Colm grabbed the back of his head and planted a kiss on his lips.
“You’re going to be fine,” he whispered. “Relax.”
Reese tried to calm his body, but knowing it would hurt made that difficult. He felt a hand on his semi-hard cock and saw Colm’s arm working up and down as the hand slid along his thickening flesh. He moaned, loving the feel of Colm’s hand on him.
Theis pressed the head of his cock against Reese’s already full ass. He stiffened again. Colm turned his head, forcing them to stare at one another.
“We’ll stop if it becomes too much,” he said. “We never want to cause you pain.”
Reese pressed his lips to Colm’s for a kiss and tried to lose himself in the feel of the bear’s mouth.
Theis pressed in a little, and it stung. Reese sucked in a breath.
“You can do this,” Colm whispered as he continued to stroke Reese’s cock.
Theis went slow, little by little. When the thick head of his cock passed the tight band of nerves, Reese could breathe again. The pressure was still intense—but the worst of it was gone.
/>
Gradually, he was filled with both men, their cock stretching him open wide. Once Theis was in deep, he paused, giving Reese’s body time to acclimate to the wide impalement. His thundering heart slowed a little, and the pain subsided.
“Ready?” Colm asked him.
Reese nodded.
The first stroke made a cry tear from his lips. The second felt better. After a few more, the pain was supplanted with pleasure unlike any he’d ever known.
His body shook as they took him, moans pouring from his lips. A thin sheen of sweat covered him as they made his body theirs.
Their tempo quickened a little, and the sounds of their flesh slapping as they fucked him filled the room. He clung to Colm, who still stroked his now hard cock. They pushed him back to the edge of reason, their hot brands burning into him. Surrounded by nothing by hard, male flesh, there was nothing in the whole world but these two bears devouring him.
He came again out of nowhere. Arching into the orgasm, he came into Colm’s hand. Theis kissed his neck and the side of his face as both men drove into his body. He felt as if he floated, hovering between their raging bodies, held down to earth by their hold on him.
A growl filled the room. Reese felt heat inside his ass as Colm came. The bear’s fingers dug into his hips as he roared. Theis cried out behind him as another bit of wet heat filled him. The two bears shot their seed into his body, cradling him between them.
He felt himself falling against Colm’s heaving chest, his body completely boneless.
Theis was the first to pull from his body… and then Colm pulled out, too. He could feel their seed sliding from his ass as they turned him to lay between their big bodies.
Trapped between two bears, he never wanted to be apart from them. Not when they could allow him to touch heaven.
Theis’ hands leisurely roamed over his body as Colm laid kisses on his forehead.
“So, it’s official now?” he asked.
“It’s official,” Theis said. “You are now claimed.”
A smiled played over Reese’s lips. “Good.”
