The Duke's Refuge Page 33

During that era, blue would have been considered daintier, but due to today’s standards, I believed that Georgia claiming blue to be feminine would have drawn readers out of the story. I hope those of you who are history buffs, like myself, will forgive my accommodation. Pink as a girlie color is actually a modern development stemming from the 1940s. The trend grew after Mamie Eisenhower wore pink to her husband’s presidential inauguration. For more details and source documents please go to Lorridudley.com/the-dukes-refuge-resources.

First and foremost, I thank God for the opportunity to write. I have seen His fingerprints everywhere in my life, particularly on my writing voyage. He has also blessed me with a wonderful husband and three amazing boys. I can’t thank them enough for believing in my dream, for their prayers, and their patience while I finish “one last thought.” I love you.
