Loosen Up Page 22

  “You really like dancing for me, don’t you, Ally?”

  She nodded, her eyes hooded and lustful.

  With the middle finger of my right hand, I gathered some of her wetness and circled her clit once before pulling my hand away.

  “You want me to make you come, right here, right now?”

  She moaned and dropped her head back on her shoulders. “God, yes.”

  “Good.” I thrust two fingers into her core, circling her clit with my thumb. “Be loud.”

  Finding the spot that made her quake, I kept up my magic, rubbing and thrusting firmly, just as she liked it.

  “Yeah, you always like it hard.” She moaned again, louder than before. “Ride my fingers, babe.” She began moving her hips, up and down in rhythm with the song, and on her down stroke, I crooked my fingers to really hit her favorite spot.

  “Fuck,” she threw her head back and whimpered.

  I felt her flutter begin. She was close, so I pulled down the neckline of her dress with my other hand, sucking her nipple into my mouth hard through the sheer fabric of her bra.

  She exploded around my fingers, shouting pretty loudly. I helped her through it like I always did. After nine years, I knew her body so well that instinct drove me to give her just what she needed to prolong her climax.

  Her pussy clutched my fingers slower, and once it subsided, I removed them from her. I ran my soaked finger over her mouth before pulling her into a kiss, cleaning off her lips with my tongue.

  “You are my absolute favorite flavor, babe.”

  She smiled, flushed from her orgasm, still panting. I took her lips again, giving her the sweet kiss she loved.

  The door to the bathroom opened. “Damn, I don’t know what ye were doing, but it sure did help the process along.”

  Allison jumped up from my lap and turned to face Bryan. “We were just…” she trailed off.

  “See, in my head, Darby got you off. And if she didn’t, please don’t ruin the fantasy.”

  He handed the specimen cup to Ally.

  Allison reached out to take the cup from him, and her face turned devious. “She did. She has very talented fingers and an even more talented tongue, which she didn’t need to use tonight. But when she does, damn, I do come quickly.”

  Bryan stood there stunned. He looked down at the growing bulge in his pants and back at Allison. “Jeez woman, now I can go again. Ye sure I can’t give you another sample tonight?”

  She cackled. “No, and don’t you dare take care of it, either. We need time for your baby makers to recharge.” Smiling, she added, “But you can certainly add your mind’s picture of Darby going down on me to your spank bank for next time.”

  She winked and flounced into the kitchen.

  I had never seen Allison so flirty with anyone but me. It warmed my heart, even if she was torturing the poor man.

  I looked at Bryan as he watched her walk away. I saw the affection he had for her.

  “You like her, huh?” I asked.

  “You know I do,” he said absently. Then he looked toward me and added. “I like you both.”

  I smiled, knowing he was hiding his feelings for her. “I never thanked you personally for this, Bryan. I really appreciate the sacrifice you are making for us.”

  He grabbed both my hands. “I don’t see it as a sacrifice, Darby dear. I see it as repayment for the gift that has been given to me for the last decade.”

  I felt my brow furrow in confusion. “What gift?”

  He just smiled, patting me on the shoulder as he walked to the door. “Goodnight, lasses,” he called loud enough for Ally to hear. He winked at me before he left.

  Curious. Very curious.

  “One Step Closer” – Linkin Park

  It took two more times of Bryan making his deposit in our bathroom before I convinced Ally that he didn’t actually have to be here to do it. Those times were not as eventful as the first, which I think made Bryan feel a little disappointed.

  “Here are the specimen cups,” she handed him a bag, “and you know to twist the lids tight? And make sure you write the date on the tops of them right after you collect them.”

  He chuckled. “Jeez, Mom. I got it.”

  Her eyes got wide and softened, probably because he called her mom. “Alright, then.” She led him to the door. “Please be careful with them. Once they are sealed, you can’t go shaking them or anything. Bring them here right afterward.”

  He pulled her in for a hug. “You trust me enough to ask me to be your baby daddy, so I think it’s safe to trust me with the juice to make the kid.”

  She smiled up at him. “Point made, Bryan. We’ll see you in a little while.”

  I waited until I heard the click of the door shutting before I said, “I like that you’re softening toward him. I do believe we made a good choice.”

  She stared at me unblinking for a second. “I feel more at ease with it now, it’s true.”

  “Good. I’m going to go take a shower. Javier put too much chlorine in the pool this time, and I don’t need another incident of Cheeto-colored hair like right before the Golden Globes. I hated dying it. That was not pleasant last time.”

  Allison jumped in my way. “You haven’t told Riley… or, um, anyone… about our… plans, have you?”

  I rolled my eyes. “Holy Hades, Ally, you were willing to ask Riley to father our child, but you don’t want me to tell him that we are going to try to have one?”

  She looked down at her feet. “I just don’t want to jinx anything, Darby.”

  I stepped around her and took a deep breath. “No, I haven’t told him or my mom or… anyone else, just like you asked.” I opened the door to my room and looked back over my shoulder. “Don’t get upset at me for feeling this way, Babe, but keeping things from the people I love makes me uncomfortable; that’s all.”

  She nodded, smiling at me. “I get that. After I get pregnant, hopefully by this time in the next couple of months, you can tell anyone you want.” She bounded over to me, kissed my cheek, and almost skipped to the kitchen. “Don’t forget our appointment Monday.”

  “Day after tomorrow, got it.”

  I showered quickly despite washing my hair twice to remove all the chlorine.

  As I dried off, I heard Allison yelling. I abandoned my towel, threw on my robe, and ran to see what the hell was going on.

  Bryan was standing in the kitchen, but I couldn’t see Allison.

  “It was a joke, lass.”

  “You think this is a fucking joke, Bryan?” He ducked when what looked like a plastic cup was hurled at his head. She popped up from behind the island. “You nearly gave me a heart attack.”

  “Here’s the real one,” he laughed, handing over the specimen cup she promptly yanked out of his outstretched hand.

  “What is going on?” I asked, tying my robe.

  “This one,” she pointed at Bryan with the cup, “decided it would be funny to deliver a cup filled with… something gross…”

  “It’s not gross, it’s powdered sugar and water,” he added quietly toward me.

  “… with the lid not on all the way, and then tripped and spilled it on all over our kitchen floor. It’s like cement… and it’s drying quickly.”

  I giggled. “Oh, goddess, you didn’t.”

  He smiled sheepishly. “Well, with the big deal she made about my irresponsibility, I thought it’d be funny.” He turned to Ally’s fuming face. “Obviously, I got that wrong. I’ll need another one of those cup thingies.”

  She grunted, still pretty red in the face. “I don’t have another one.”

  He grabbed the back of his neck. “Oh… Oh shit, I’m so sorry, Allison… well, where can I go to replace it?”

  “You can’t. It’s too late tonight, and all the medical supplies are closed tomorrow.”

  “F… F… Fuck,” he stammered.

  “We probably have enough,” I offered. “Didn’t you say we needed only three samp
les?”

  “Maybe.” She plopped down in the middle of the kitchen floor with tears in her eyes. “I… I just wanted to be… extra prepared, you know?”

  “Can we just wash out the cup?” Bryan asked hopefully.

  Ally shook her head. “I think I broke it throwing it at you. Anyway, the container has to be sterile.”

  “Can we sterilize something?” I asked.

  She brightened. “I do have a steam sterilizer.” She stood. “I’ll see what I can do.”

  ~~~
  “Allison Carlisle?”
  She nearly sprinted to the direction the grandmotherly voice called.
  Once I made it to them, a woman who looked to be in her late fifties, with graying hair and wrinkling skin, walked us down a long hallway.
  “I’m JoAnn, and I will be getting your history.” She looked behind us. “Which one of you is Allison?”
  “I am,” Allison answered.
  “And who did you bring with you today?” JoAnn asked, with that over-the-top sweetness those who are faking it use.
  “This is Darby. We,” she waved between us, “are together and wish to start the process of getting pregnant.”
  JoAnn narrowed her eyes, but recovered quickly. “Okay, you are together, or you mean you want to get pregnant at the same time?”
  Allison donned a patient smile. “No, ma’am. We are together, as in a couple, but I will be the one getting pregnant.”
  Before JoAnn motioned for us to sit, and turned her back to write something on her tablet. I suddenly had a feeling this would not go well.
  “Well, we have several ways you can accomplish this –”
  “We came prepared,” Allison produced her cooler. “In here, I have four frozen semen samples we collected from a friend who agreed to be our donor. We wish for him to remain anonymous, which is why he is not with us today.”
  JoAnn paled. “You have… collected…”
  “Yes, we collected five samples in the past week.” She dug them out of the cooler. “These four have been in the cooler a little while, so you might want to get them back on ice.” She placed the samples on the counter.
  “This one is in a Tupperware container.”
  “Yes, that one is fresh.” JoAnn looked horrified. “Don’t worry, I sterilized the container first.”
  JoAnn pushed back from the counter with her mouth gaping like a fish. “I’m sorry, but you can’t just…” She stood, shaking her head. “There’s a…”
  “There’s a what?” I asked.
  JoAnn swallowed and took a deep breath. “We can’t just take a random sample off the street. There’s a process.”
  “Yes, I know,” Allison began, trying hard to remain patient. “I researched it. We took samples every other day, and I froze them within minutes of them being collected. I know they need to be analyzed, that’s why I had him collect one right before we left.”
  “And he’s not random,” I added. “We told you we know him. He’s a very close friend.”
  JoAnn put her hand on her chest and turned around to face the counter. “I’m sorry, Allison, but –”
  “JoAnn,” a sweet voice with a Midwestern accent came from the doorway. “Thank you, but I’ll take it from here.”
  JoAnn nodded and practically ran from the room.
  The chick entered, her fresh, young face almost completely free of makeup. She exuded kindness and smiled sweetly at us. “Hello, I’m Dr. Bell, and please, tell me why JoAnn left so abruptly?”
  Allison proceeded to tell her what had happened in the last ten minutes while I breezed out and looked around the room they had put us in. All the posters of cervices and pictures of the impregnation process were distracting and honestly, kind of gross.
  “Well, no wonder JoAnn got flustered,” she giggled, then cleared her throat. “I apologize, but she might have just been a little blindsided. She is not usually one who takes the medical histories, but my usual assistant called in sick today.”
  “It’s okay, Dr. Bell,” I tried to smooth things over.
  Allison whipped her head in my direction. “Darby,” she warned in a whisper.
  “Yes, well,” Dr. Bell nervously began. “I feel the need to explain why she got so rattled. Yes, your research is correct; we need samples collected every other day, but they need to either be collected here or delivered to our office right after. So, if your friend is still willing to do that, we need him to submit to a physical and a full STI screening…”
  “Oh, he already did that,” Allison interrupted, producing his paper.
  Dr. Bell took it from her and studied it.
  “This is great, but we will need to do one here. In the meantime, he needs to provide samples now…” she looked at Allison sheepishly, “fresh ones we order.”
  A kind smile graced her face. “I really do appreciate the time and effort you took to research this, but there is more to it than just collection. Plus, the storage process is a bit more complicated than just keeping it in a household freezer. We have to test, count, and wash the sperm before it’s frozen.” She crossed her arms over her chest.
  “We have to meet with the donor. He will also need to undergo counseling and sign consent forms, and you need to have a lawyer draw up an agreement. Then, he will need to get another STI check in six months before we can even start the process of IUI.”
  “Six months?” Allison and I asked in unison.
  “Counseling? Lawyers? That sounds like a pain in the ass,” I added.
  She smiled. “Between you and me, and I’m going to be a completely honest here, it really is a pain.” Crossing her hands over her lap, she continued. “Because we are required to follow ethical guidelines, we have to make absolutely sure the donor is prepared to give up a child, otherwise it could get super ugly.” She raised her eyebrows. “There are some pretty awful stories out there, which is why the guidelines are in place.”
  Allison turned to me and whispered. “I don’t want to wait six months.”
  “If you two and your donor are dead set on going this route, it is doable, but I highly encourage using a sperm bank, especially if time is an issue. We can start that right away once you choose a donor sperm. I can have my nurse practitioner explain how to select…”
  The rest of what she said was lost on me. I could only think of the seed planted by Charlie. At least this female doctor couldn’t father 500 kids.
  “Thank you, Dr. Bell,” Allison said, packing away the brochures in her purse the doc handed to her. “We have some decisions to make. We will let you know our decision.”
  Allison grabbed my wrist and pulled me out of the office.
  “Ow, Ally, what the hell are you…”
  She let my go of me. “Sorry, but it looks like we’re going to have sex with a boy.”
  ~~~

  “Babe, slow down,” I winced when I almost twisted my ankle trying to keep up with her as she ran down the stairs in the parking garage.

  “I researched everything, Darby.” Her fists tightened at her sides. “I thought I did everything right.”

  “It’s just a tiny setback…”

  “Tiny? No, it’s not tiny. I was hoping to be impregnated today. Now?” Her voice broke, so she swallowed. “Now we have to wait, probably another month.”

  “I doubt it would have happened today. Dr. Bell seems like she’s…”

  She turned to face me. “Stop, Darby. You don’t know.”

  I took a deep breath and grabbed her hand. “First of all, you need to breathe.” I took another exaggerated breath so that she would follow suit. Once she seemed calmer, I continued. “Secondly, I totally understand your frustration. But if you’re going to get this upset every time we get bad news, maybe we shouldn’t…”

  Her eyes flew open, a panicked expression on her face, and she pushed past me to resume flying down the stairs. “So you’re saying you don’t think this should happen?”

  I ground my teeth. “That is not what I’m saying at all.” I to
ok off after her. “Can you please stop and talk to me?”

  I found her waiting for me, sitting on the bottom step. Her head rest in her hands, and her shoulders shook. I sat next to her and rubbed my hand on her leg gently.

  “I’m so sorry, Darby,” she said through her hands. “I thought I was doing everything right. I just want this so badly.”

  I sighed. “I get that. She didn’t tell us it won’t happen. We have options. And you have to go into things like this with the understanding that it’s probably not going to go as easily as you think.” I kept rubbing her lower thigh. “We need to expect setbacks and problems. We should plan for them… research scenarios of things that happen during the process.”

  “What process? I’m… we’re going for it the natural way.”

  Pursing my lips, I removed my hand. “We’ll discuss that, and all the possibilities… later this evening.” I smiled tightly. “Now, we just need to find somewhere to get some lunch. I think low blood sugar is making us both grumpy.”

  She stood and chuckled. “I’m sorry.” She held out her hand, which I took. “You’re right, about everything.”

  We found Fionn waiting in the spot we left him, scrolling through his phone. He started the car when we approached.

  Allison opened the door for me and smiled. “Since when did you become the voice of reason?”

  “Since apparently today.”

  Thirty Three

  “Ready for Love” – Bad Company

  “It didn’t exactly work out like we planned,” Allison explained to Bryan. “We have options, but what we have collected so far is not usable.”

  He moved a piece of her hair behind her ear. “It’s okay, Allison,” he soothed. “Whatever I have to do, I’ll do it for you…” he glanced at me, “both.”

  I tried to hide my eye roll behind my sip of my wine.

  Thanks for the bone you just threw me, buddy.

  “That’s just it, Bryan. Not only would we have to put you through two more STI checks,” he winced, “but you have to go through counseling. Plus, if we continue this route, we have to wait six months.” She glanced at me. “Neither of us is willing to wait.”

  Don’t lie. You’re the impatient one, Allison.
