  Conflict and compromise, politics, propaganda —

  Once in a great while he got a chance to act on his fundamental sense of fairness and equity, and have it come out right. Instead of just less wrong.

  With that knowledge in his heart, and Cousin Stanoczk’s message in his thoughts, Garol sat in the increasing warmth of the late morning; and for a small but sufficient space of time, he was happy.
