Grammar Giggles
And just for a little giggle, here are some grammar mistakes found in Pride Before a Fall during the editing process.
Correct Line: I put aside my bottle of wine so I could stroke Nick's striped, gray fur.
Giggle: I put aside my bottle of whine so I could stroke Nick's striped, gray fur. (This is oddly appropriate to the scene.)
Correct Line: Everything was as smooth as glass from centuries of heat and friction.
Giggle: Everything was as smooth as class from centuries of heat and friction. (I guess heat and friction makes you classy.)
Correct Line: To the left of the crib there was a wardrobe and tiny outfits were already hanging inside on little satin hangers.
Giggle: To the left of the crib there was a wardrobe and tiny outfits were already handing inside on little satin hangers.
Correct Line: The only truth he'd been told was that his mother was a Fomorian goddess, trapped beneath the sea by the Tuatha, when the Tuatha dé Danann won the war against their fellow Celtic gods.
Giggle: The only truth he'd been told was that his mother was a Fomorian goddess, trapped beneath the sea by the Tuatha, when the Tuatha dé Danann won the wore against their fellow Celtic gods. (Seriously, it's like my fingers are on autopilot sometimes, and the autopilot is stupid.)
Correct Line: I was nearly as liquid as the water, lolling about in the confused aftermath of mind-blowing sex.
Giggle: I was nearly as liquid as the water, lolling about in the confused aftermath of min-blowing sex. (I guess the sex was so mind-blowing that I couldn't type accurately.)
Correct Line: Re rode a phooka in its horse form, yet another black beast.
Giggle: Re road a phooka in its horse form, yet another black beast. (I can't even.)
And please feel free to write me at [email protected] if you spot any grammar errors yourself. I'm a poor self-published author who must rely on the kindness of my super-smart friends for help in editing. Please have mercy on my writing.
