“I don’t… Why are you laughing?”
Jessica wiped at her eyes, forcing herself to take a breath. “I’m just so relieved.” She scooted across the couch and put her arms around Eric’s neck, running her hand back and forth against the back of his head.
“Relieved?” He studied her face, clearly not understanding.
“I wasn’t cheating on you, Eric. I’d never cheat on you. If I was that unhappy I would have told you. I love you too much and respect you too much to ever hurt you like that.”
Eric visibly relaxed. His shoulders unclenched, his hand, which he’d been holding dead still, began stroking her leg again. “I feel the same way. I’d never do that to you either.”
“I guess it’s my turn to confess now.”
His eyebrows rose.
“I was worried about the same thing. All those late nights at the office. Being too tired to do anything but eat dinner and go to bed. I couldn’t help but think—”
“Never.” He tipped her chin up until she met his eyes again. Staring straight at her he said it again. “Never. I promise, Jess. I love you.”
“I love you too. More than ever.” Before the last word left her lips his mouth was on hers. Hot. Wet. Of all the times they’d kissed today this was the most passionate. The most intimate. She could feel his sincerity in every stroke of his tongue. He loves me. We’re going to be okay.
“Promise me something.” His fingers worked through her hair, strong and soothing against her scalp.
“Anything.”
“That brings a lot of requests to mind, but for now I just want one thing. Seriously.”
“Okay.” She nodded.
“If you ever feel stressed or unhappy again, promise you’ll tell me. Or ask me for help. I’m not a mind reader. It’s not that I don’t want to help out, but you have to tell me what you need from me.”
“I’ll try.” She circled her finger on his forearm, feeling goose bumps rise on his skin. “That goes both ways though. If there’s something on your mind or something worrying you, will you share it with me? Please?”
“Deal.” Eric pulled her onto his lap and kissed her, slow and gentle.
“And one more thing.” Jess slid her mouth to his ear to whisper. “We need more days like today.”
“No argument there.” He nibbled her neck. “But, you know, the day’s not over yet. What do you say we spend what’s left of it in bed?”
“I say Mother’s Day is officially my favorite holiday. At least the way you celebrate it.”
With a grin that made her insides quake, Eric lifted her off the couch and strode toward the stairs.
Epilogue
Monday mornings were usually something Jessica dreaded. Getting the kids back to the school routine after a weekend off. Chaos of lost homework, lunchboxes, ushering everyone out the door. This Monday Jessica was too blissed out from her weekend to notice any of it.
Eric strolled into the kitchen as she was putting the last of the scrambled eggs on a plate. “Morning,” she said, unable to keep from grinning as she handed him the dish.
His smile turned her inside out. He was radiating happiness. Even after the kids had returned on Saturday morning, they’d managed to keep the special glow Eric had started with their day of decadence.
Jessica poured the last of the juice into everyone’s glasses and tossed the empty carton in the trash. Eric was chatting with the boys and eating so she sorted through her purse, chuckling to herself. When the house phone rang, she grabbed it. “Yes, it is. Oh, okay, I think so. Yes. That should work. I’ll double-check with my husband but unless you hear back from me I’ll be there.” She clicked the phone off and set it back on the counter.
“Check with your husband about what?” Eric asked, walking his plate to the sink.
“Can you do me a favor?”
Eric wrapped his arms around her waist and gave her a kiss. “What’d you have in mind?”
“The eye doctor had a cancellation and wanted to know if I could be there by nine. Could you drop the kids off at school today?” She held her breath. Please say yes.
“Sure.”
“Great.” She kissed him back. “Thank you. Guys, Daddy’s gonna drive you to school today. Let’s finish getting ready.” I need time to get ready too.
Eric had barely stepped into his office when his phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out and saw the text light flashing.
You at work yet? It was Jess.
He typed back. Just got here. What’s up?
You alone?
Yes. Shouldn’t she be at the eye doctor’s by now?
Close your door.
Eric chuckled. Okay, closed.
A text came through with a photo attachment. He clicked it open and sucked in a deep breath, feeling his reaction from head to toe. A close-up shot showed a woman’s hand, Jess’ hand, fingertips inside a pair of black lace panties.
He stared for several seconds before the phone buzzed again, getting his attention. It took some effort to close the image so he could read the incoming message.
You like?
His cock pulsed in reply. Understatement, he typed.
How about this?
Anticipation filled him. He couldn’t take his eyes off the phone. The instant it vibrated, he clicked the image. This time the panties were pulled to the side just enough to show a finger slipped between slick, deep pink folds.
Eric groaned, leaning back against his closed door. You trying to get me fired for indecent work activities?
J Why, what are you thinking of doing?
I think you already know.
Not sure. Show me.
He nearly dropped the phone. Show her? You’ve got to be fucking kidding me. Glancing over his shoulder, he thought about it. The blinds were down. There was no way anyone could possibly see him. The door did have a lock on it.
His phone buzzed again. Another image. Fingers spread, swollen clit.
Oh hell yes. He undid his belt and zipper. Thick and plump, the head of his cock already stuck out from the waistband of his boxer briefs. Clumsy fingers tapped the screen of his phone in search of the camera. Holding his breath he took a shot. Jesus. Checking twice to make sure he’d clicked Jessica’s name as the recipient, he sent off the message.
A reply quickly arrived. Nice. But don’t you think you’d be more comfortable sitting down?
Wait. What? How the hell does she know I’m standing?
I think you’d be more…comfortable at your desk.
What the—? Like magic, his desk chair rolled away from his desk, stopping when it hit the far wall of his office.
Trust me. Have a seat.
Eric double-checked to make certain he’d locked the door, then walked across the room. He ducked his head and peered under the desk. Jessica sat, ear-to-ear grin, curled in the space where his chair had been.
“Wanna have a seat now?”
Finding it hard to speak or swallow, Eric lowered himself into the chair. Jess wore her bright red Land’s End rain coat. As soon as he sat she crawled toward him, eyes locked on his, lips still curled into an unbearably sexy smile. Moving in what seemed like slow motion, she lowered the zipper of her jacket to reveal a red bustier, garters, black stockings and the same barely there panties that had been in the text photos.
“Jesus, Jess,” he croaked, still unable to give a good swallow.
She slid her hands up the length of his thighs then bent forward and kissed the aching tip of his cock, swirling her tongue once before sitting back to separate his fly further. Warm fingers slipped inside his boxers, freeing the rest of his length as the cloth-covered elastic rested just below his balls.
Her dark pink tongue swept the underside of his erection from base to tip. Eric stifled the groan that wanted to rumble out of his chest. Slow, tantalizing licks. One after the other, her fingers caressing his balls as her tongue teased every inch.
She pursed her lips and kissed his swollen head. Once. Twic
e, her tongue flicking out to circle it as each kiss allowed him to slip deeper inside her hot, wet mouth.
Eric gripped the arms of his chair, feeling the soft leather warm beneath his fingers. Jessica’s lace-covered breasts grazed his thighs as she dipped her head up and down in his lap, taking him deep into her throat. Her cheeks sucked in tight, she pulled back, letting him pop free then starting the process all over.
“You’re killing me, you know.”
A smile tugged at her lips as she held her tongue rigid and still, pressed against his engorged tip. Eric bucked his hip, sliding himself against her, biting his lip to keep from crying out. Silky fingers wrapped around him as she began to stroke his shaft while her lips concentrated on the sensitive ridge. His cock was deep purple, skin stretched so tight he thought for sure it would burst.
Abs clenching tight, he rocked his hips toward her. Jess slid one hand beneath his shirt, fingers gliding up his chest until she found a nipple. Holy hell. Her tongue somehow managed to continue lapping as she sucked his head into her mouth, stroking in rhythm so his entire shaft was engulfed in slippery motion.
He pressed his feet against the floor so hard his shins ached as he braced himself. Balls tight. Cock hard as iron. He no longer cared that he was at work, that someone could knock at any moment. All he could think about was coming into Jessica’s lovely mouth.
Her dark eyes stared up at him. Intense. Focused. Filled with a mixture of love and lust. It was the sexiest sight he’d ever seen. Humming, she sent vibrations straight through him. Her tongue swept over him again and again until he couldn’t stand another second. Feeling the cum rising through his cock, he tightened the viselike grip he had on the chair. Every ounce of energy in his body seemed poised to burst free. With an audible gasp, he let go.
Bursts of semen throbbed out of him and Jessica’s eyes closed as she swallowed deep in her throat. Eric’s pulse beat throughout his body as waves of pleasure shuddered through him.
Slowing her mouth, Jess continued to suck softly as his muscles gradually unclenched and calm blanketed him. Gentle kisses followed as her caresses grew more delicate.
Eric regaining enough of his wits to know he wanted to kiss her. He hooked his hands beneath her arms, drawing her up toward his face. As soon as she was nestled in his lap her warm lips met his. Soft at first, then deeper, her tongue twirled against his. Dizzying. Draining what brain power he had left.
With a sweet sigh she pulled away, looking pleased and insanely sexy.
“What was that all about?” Eric asked.
The sly smile returned. “It’s a preview.”
“Of what?”
“I thought next month you could take a day off and we could open another jar in the Spice Rack to celebrate Father’s Day.”
Eric grinned. “Sounds perfect. Only this time I want to pick a jar from the ‘Spicy’ rack.”
Jessica beamed at him. “Spicy it is. I can’t wait.”

Chapter One
“Non-fat sugar-free vanilla latte,” the barista shouted over the din of early-morning customers at the Bean Scene.
“That’s me,” Olivia said to her regular Wednesday coffee companion. “You need anything while I’m up?”
Jessica settled back in the overstuffed armchair near the windows overlooking Main Street. She blew on her hot chocolate before sneaking a sip. “Nope. I’m good.”
Olivia took the white ceramic mug and saucer from the counter, careful not to ruin the artful feathery design in the foam on the surface of her coffee. She eased into the chair next to Jessica. “I look forward to this every week. Thank goodness the girls finally went back to school today or I would’ve been stuck at home. I swear the cold that’s been going around is the worst.”
“They both got it?” Je
ssica asked, setting down her mug.
Olivia nodded as she took another sip of her truly unsatisfying coffee. Next time better to order something with real sugar and whipped cream. “Of course. That’s the routine with twins. One of them gets it, the other one always does.”
“It’s all kids. Mine pass that stuff around like candy.”
Jessica absentmindedly stared out the window for what seemed like the tenth time. She was usually chattering at warp factor five, sharing recipes, the latest gossip from the carpool lane, details on a bargain-hunting shopping spree. It was probably the product of having three kids and a crazy life because of it. Today she was so…calm.
“What’s up with you?” Olivia asked. “Did you get a massage or something?”
Jessica’s green eyes sparkled in the midmorning light of the café. A smile played at the corner of her lips. “Remember last Friday? When you watched the kids for us? Eric treated me to a special day. A really special day. I’m still on a high from it.”
“Special day?” Olivia cocked an eyebrow. Eric had made it sound as though he was taking Jessica out for lunch and maybe some shopping.
Jessica could no longer contain her grin, which had bloomed as readily as the pink on her cheeks. “He called it Mother’s Day.”
