“You get an hour’s paid lunch,” Kai said, “another ten minute break an hour after lunch, and another twenty minute break an hour later.”
“I’ll never be able to keep up with all the work if I have all that down time.” Sapphira managed to contain her yawn until after she’d finished her sentence.
“I don’t give a shit,” Kael snapped. “Goddamn it, Sapphira, you can barely keep your eyes open as it is.”
Kai sat down next to her and Kael and took hold of her hand. “Sweetie, any work you do we won’t have to. You are helping us out big time but you need to take care of you first. Okay?”

“Was there something I can do for you, Billy?”
“I–I was just coming to let you know that me and Graham are heading out to lunch.”

Kai followed Billy out and headed to the diner.
