Captivating Cowboys [Triple Dare County, South Dakota 5] (Siren Publishing Everlasting Polyromance) Page 8

by Paige Cameron

“Honey, have you forgotten where you are? No one would go in without my permission. Unless they got caught in a bad storm, and then I’d expect them to use it.”

“In the city you have to have more than one lock and use them whether you’re home or not.” She stepped inside and studied the large room. “I like the way you’ve utilized the space with the kitchen on one side, the living area in the middle, and the bed in the corner against the back wall.”

“The small door in the middle of the back wall is a bathroom, and that’s all there is to the cabin. It’s cool in here. I’ll start a fire.”

  “Please do. I love fireplaces.”

“You didn’t have any where you lived?”

  “Not in my apartment.”

“Look in the kitchen and see what’s there. I stocked some snacks here a few days ago.”

Dana glanced his way. “You planned ahead.”

“I hoped you’d like the place and agree to stay for a few hours.”

She didn’t comment. He got busy building the fire. Hearing her moving around in the kitchen gave him a feeling of warmth and contentment. The fire was crackling when she returned with a tray of crackers, cheese, and slices of an orange.

He took the tray from her. “Sit on the couch and I’ll open the bottle of wine in the fridge.”

“I hoped you’d suggest that.” Her green eyes sparkled.

Chayton brought two glasses of white wine and sat them on the low table by the couch. The fire had the room cozy and warm.

Dana had eaten several crackers and orange slices. “Better start eating. You’re behind.”

“These are good oranges. Mr. Sidney orders them special. They sell out in a hurry. I happened to be at the general store the day they arrived.” Chayton took a slice and bit into it.

The wind had picked up and a limb brushed the side of the cabin, making a soft scraping noise. “We might have a rainstorm. I’ll put the horses in the shelter I built for this purpose.” He put on his jacket and went out.

  * * * *

Dana sipped on her wine and watched the flames flare up the chimney. I haven’t felt this relaxed and content in ages. She stretched her legs out on the sofa and laid back.

The door opened and wind rushed in with Chayton. “It’s getting wild outside. We’re definitely going to have rain. Do you mind having to stay for a while?”

“No. I love your cabin. It’s comforting.” Rain began to pelt the windows. “I feel safe. I haven’t felt that way in a long time.”

Chayton sat on the floor and laid his head back on the couch cushion. “It’s a good place to come and clear your head and get your thoughts straight.”

“Tell me about your family,” Dana said.

“There’s not much to tell. We’re ordinary. We love each other, and we visit and stay close. My grandparents live a few miles from my parents. Our homes are all on the ranch, but they’re built several miles apart. My parent’s retirement home is closer to my grandparents than to me.”

“Then the ranch is your family’s?”

“My parents turned most of it over to me. Steel bought the additional property we recently added. We shared the cost of updating the main house. We both consider we own the ranch equally.”

He took hold of her hand and kissed the top. “I’m anxious for you to meet my family. They’ll love you.”

“How can you be so sure?”

He turned his head and grinned at her. “You are very much like my mother and grandmother in certain ways. They’re independent women and although they adore their husbands, they have an equal say in whatever decisions are made. My dad loves Mom’s feisty spirit.”

  “And your grandfather?”

“Grandmother says it took her some time to train him.”

“They sound wonderful. Are you an only child?”

“Yes. Steel says I’ve been spoiled. He has two brothers and a sister.”

Chayton got off the floor and arranged himself on the couch with Dana’s head on his lap. “That’s better.” He brushed his fingers through her hair. “I like the mixture of colors. In the firelight it brings out more of the red.”

As his fingers drifted between the strands, his other hand trailed down her temple to her mouth. “You have incredibly soft skin.”

Her breath quickened. Her body was hypersensitive to his touch. His hands were callused yet gentle.

He leaned down and kissed her. “I want to carry you to bed and make love.” His gray eyes shone like silver.

She reached up and unfastened the tie holding his black hair back. It fell like a silken sheet to his shoulders. His sensuous mouth tightened and his high cheekbones were etched by the firelight. Outside the rain and wind pelted the windows.

“I’d like that very much.” She purred and put her arms around his neck.

Chayton effortlessly carried her to the bed in the corner. He sat her feet on the floor and pulled the spread and blankets back.

He straightened up and placed his hands on both sides of her face. Then he tilted her head, and his mouth covered hers. His kiss deepened when her lips opened and his tongue slid into her sweet warmth. He leisurely explored every spot and caressed her tongue with his. Chayton took his time kissing her as though she was a long drink of water, and he’d been in the middle of a drought.

Her heart soared with joy. She moved her body closer to his. When he finished with her mouth, he kissed her eyelids and bit the edge of her jaw.

“We have on too many clothes, my love.”

  “They’re easily removed,” she said.

Cool air wafted over her chest when he put her shirt to the side and unclasped her bra. His hands stroked her arms as he let the bra slide off.

Her nerve endings tingled and her craving for Chayton had heat rushing through her veins. She became aware of the heavy beating of her heart and for a second she felt light-headed.

Chayton kissed her midriff when he knelt to undo her belt and the button on her jeans. Once he opened the zipper his hand went under the silk panties and cupped her mound. He stared into her eyes as his finger slid into her hungry pussy.

Exquisite pleasure flooded her whole being. Her muscles loosened, and she leaned into his hard body. “If you don’t hurry, I’m going to explode.”

His deep chuckle rumbled through his chest. “Sit. I’ll remove your boots and then your jeans and panties.”

Dana sat on the bed. Chayton quickly removed the boots and the rest of her clothing. “No fair. You are dressed.”

“Don’t worry, honey. I won’t be long.” He snapped open his shirt and let it fall to the floor. Then he sat beside her and removed his boots. When he stood, he pushed his jeans and underwear down and off, freeing his large cock. From his jeans pocket he took a condom package and placed it on the bedside table.

He lifted her further over on the bed. “This is a full-size bed. There’s just enough room for two.”

She smiled. “I’d have lots of room alone. South Dakota grows such tall, strong men you don’t fit in anything but a king-sized bed.”

Chayton put his leg over hers and nuzzled her neck. “Are you complaining?”

“Hmmm, let me think. No, absolutely not.”

“Good.” He kissed the side of her neck and her nearest breast. His tongue circled the tight bud. Her skin flushed and her legs relaxed and slightly parted.

“I love kissing you, tasting you, and touching you.” His lips covered the spot on her neck where her heart pounded. Then he returned to her breasts and caressed both globes. “Just the right size.” He grinned at her.

A ravenous hunger aroused every cell in her body. Her breasts swelled to fill his hands. When he kissed her breast and sucked, heat fired in her belly and her pussy clenched tight.

“Oh, my.” She breathed out the words in a husky whisper.

  “Do you like that?”

  “You know I do.”

  “Look at me.”

She looked and her heart lurched
madly seeing the tenderness in his gaze. “My soul recognized you the first time we met.” His hands tenderly brushed across her midriff. “I know you aren’t ready to hear words of love. But I want you to know I’m here to protect you and care for you. If you are the right woman for me and Steel”—he put his hand over her heart—“at some point you will know.”

He kissed her mouth and skimmed his fingers down her neck. Then he rubbed her shoulders and his hands slid along her arms until he held both her hands.

She was surprised at the impact of his gentle grip. A delightful shiver of desire spread from her center throughout her body. “Please make love to me.”

“Ah, darlin’, that’s what I’m doing. A slow lovemaking. A union between you and me.”

Chayton kissed her wrists and the palm of her hands. Her body thrilled at his every touch. There was an ache in her belly to be closer to him, and to feel his hard cock buried deep in her pussy. Moisture flowed out of her pussy and the scent of their arousal lingered in the air.

Dana lost sense of time. She vaguely noted the storm still raging outside. She was more aware of the sensual emotions Chayton created in her. When he or Steel was near, she felt safe and whole.

Her longing to touch him had her reaching out. Her fingers brushed through his silky-black hair. He raised his head and smiled. Then he moved upward to face her.

She kissed his lips and explored the contours of his strong face with her fingertips. He lay still and let her do as she wanted. She liked the golden color of his skin. Slowly she kissed his neck, shoulders, and listened to the fast beating of his heart. Her hands slid down his arms, and when she noticed the slash mark on his right arm she raised her head.

  “How did you get this?”

“I underestimated a wild mustang. He took his fury out on me.”

Dana gazed at the rest of his body. “You must have gotten the upper hand quickly. I don’t see other wounds.”

“I took charge. But I respected him and let him go.”

“You are a strange and fascinating man,” she said and then glanced back at his gorgeous physique. “It’s evident you do a lot of physical labor. It keeps you in shape.”

He didn’t comment, but his smile touched her as intimately as a kiss.

Dana wrapped her hand around his large, hard cock. His eyes turned to molten silver. When she licked across the crown, he said her name softly. Then she took him in her mouth as deeply as possible. Tightening her lips around him she moved up and down his satin, smooth cock.

Her tongue licked around his shaft. Chayton let out a deep groan. She cupped her hand around his sac and heard the catch in his breath.

He took hold of her arms. She glanced at his drawn face. “I want to sink my cock in your sweet pussy. Come here.”

“Are you sure you want me to stop?”

“I want to be inside you now.” When she lay at his side, he reached for the condom and rolled it on his dick.

Then Chayton drew her to him and rolled with her so she was on her back. He kissed her midriff, the inner part of her thigh, and licked her clit. Her body shook in response. He tasted all along her pussy to her opening. When he slid two fingers in and touched her G-spot, her hips rose off the bed. She screamed out as pleasure saturated her body.

He put his dick at her wet opening and slid in slowly. A rush of delight flowed from her feet upward. The fire in her belly sizzled. When he thrust in the rest of the way, her delight burst inside her like a dazzling bubble.

She gasped for breath as the thrill of his cock pounding in her pussy brought on a fierce, almost painful need to join closer and closer to him.

When Chayton thrust hard against her womb and sucked on her tight nipple, she exploded into a cloud of unbridled ecstasy.

Her pussy clenched tight around his cock. He thrust a few more times before groaning and going still. His cock throbbed against her sensitive pussy, and they held each other tight as an enormous wave of pleasure carried them up and over to slide down into a cocoon of bliss.

“Damn, sweetheart. I thought my heart would burst out of my chest.”

“Are you complaining?” She spoke with a faint tremor in her voice.

“Hell no.” He cupped her face in his hands. He whispered in her ear, “You are in my heart.” Then he put her hand over his heart. It beat steady and hard against her palm.

A part of her wanted to tell him she loved him and Steel, but it was too soon to be sure. Instead, she scooted downward and kissed his chest above his heart.

He rubbed his hand over her hair. When she looked at him, his expression showed his understanding.

They lay together cuddling. Neither felt any sense of time or urgency. Finally, Chayton glanced at the window and back at her.

“I hate to say the words, but the storm’s over. If we don’t get back soon, Steel will worry.”

“Do I have time to shower?”

“Sure. I’d join you, but then we’d never get home.”

“I’ll be quick.” She grabbed her clothes and went in the bathroom.

By the time she’d showered and dressed, Chayton had changed the bed and straightened it.

  “I would have helped.”

“It’s an easy bed to make.” He stuffed the sheets into the saddlebag he’d brought inside with him. Outside he helped Dana onto the mare and he got on Wind Chaser.

The rain had stopped, but the trees dripped drops of moisture. Once they were in the open they rode quickly to the barn. Steel came out the back door and joined them.

“I’ll rub your mare down for you.” He started toward Dana.

“No. I rode her, and I’ll take care of her. But I would love a cup of tea when I get inside the house.”

  “Tea?” Steel’s eyebrows rose.

“Yes. I like it better than coffee at certain times.”

“I’ll go put on a pot of water. I hope we have teabags.”

  “We do,” Chayton said.

“Let me guess. Your mom brought some by,” Steel teased Chayton.

  “You got it.”

Later Dana sat curled in one of the lounge chairs by the fire. She’d changed clothes and Steel was cooking dinner while Chayton showered.

She sipped her hot tea and stared into the crackling fireplace. Her body had totally relaxed.

When she thought of the lovemaking with Steel and Chayton, she knew she had an important decision to make.

I’m falling in love with them. I mustn’t let my heart get any more involved until I know whether I want to try a threesome. But to be honest with myself, I may already care too much to stop.

  Chapter Ten

Flint joined Angie and Russ at the kitchen table. They’d finished breakfast and were drinking another cup of coffee.

“One of our agents followed Gregor’s men to the airport Friday. They boarded a plane for Minneapolis. On Saturday, Addison flew there. He’s staying in one of the finest hotels in the city. His men are at a motel near the airport.” Flint leaned his chair back on two legs. “My guess, they’ll come to town tomorrow. Strangers arriving on a quiet Sunday would be too noticeable.”

“They didn’t take long to make their move,” Russ said.

“No. Gregor’s anxious to get hold of Dana. He’s in for a surprise. Once we arrest him for attempted kidnapping, the judge can’t refuse us a warrant to search his mansion.”

“You’re excited about all of this,” Angie accused.

“I sure am, honey. We’ve been trying for years to catch this guy. But he has so many people he’s paid and is paying that he kept slipping pass the law.”

  “Is he that important?”

Flint frowned. “Damn right. He’s done harm to our country, and I’m certain he or his men are responsible for killing a number of people.”

“Angie, you said you know how to ride. Do you want to go horseback riding this morning? It’s cool and the air is fresh after the storm yesterday afternoon.”

“I’d like to.” She glanced at Flint
. “Are you coming with us?”

“No. I’m waiting on a call.”

  “Good,” Angie said.

“Honey, you break my heart.” Flint put his hand on his chest. “You’ll miss me.”

“Don’t count on it.” She took Russ’s arm and pulled him toward the door. Russ shrugged at Flint, and one corner of his mouth quirked up in a half-smile. Then he followed Angie out.

When the door shut, Flint walked to the sink and poured out his coffee. He watched from the window as Angie and Russ disappeared into the barn.

Flint liked to see her chin rise, and then she challenged him. His feelings toward her were becoming confused. He never mixed pleasure with work. It was his unwritten rule. Don’t get involved with the victim. Yet, he found her nearness disturbing and exciting.

I need to finish this job and get back to the city before I break my own rulebook.

  * * * *

Russ glanced at Angie as they rode across the prairie still wet with dew. “Why do you give Flint such a hard time? I’d think you didn’t like him, but I know that isn’t true.”

Angie’s head jerked around in his direction. “How do you know?”

“Your response to both of us isn’t dislike. I think you’re afraid.” He said the words knowing he’d goad her into talking.

“Why would I be afraid of, you and Flint?”

“You don’t know what to do with the feelings we arouse.”

“They’ll go away when I get back to the city. I definitely am not going to consider a threesome like some of the women in this town.”

“Ah, you and Dana must have discussed the unique relationships accepted here.”

“Yes. She may cave in, but I’m going back to my job. Anyway you and Flint don’t live in the same town. It wouldn’t work.”

“Anything can work if you want it bad enough.”

“Can we ride and not talk.”

He chuckled and saw her back stiffen. “Sure, darlin’.” She’d give him and Flint a merry chase. He looked forward to it.

Sunday, Dana found Steel working in his home office. Chayton had gone to the barn with Gavin to help him put the stallion in the horse trailer. Because of the storm, Gavin hadn’t come yesterday.
