Don't click. It's just a video of him dancing naked.

  Stigg

How could I not click then?

  Dune

  I'm with Stigg.

  Caduceus

... Any party of non-ten-year-olds looking for a healer?

  Glinda

Ugh. I could've gone another whole lifetime without seeing that.

Talon changed his relationship status to: Seeing someone.

  Izzy

  Excuse me???

Kyle sent a game invite for Beer Pong. Claim your free beer!

  Lash

Okay, everyone, there's way too much noise on my friends list. I'm gonna delete anybody who doesn't tell me they're my friend...

  Glinda

  Me! I'm your friend!

  Conan

  Don't delete me.

  Kyle

  The silence is deafening.

  Lash

Get off my private feed, loser!

I'm so sad to hear the news about Chris Cornell. Soundgarden was my jam back in the day. This year is the worst. YOU KILLED ANOTHER ONE!

  Talon

Do we really need to rehash every single death as a punch line?

  Chris C

Tell me about it. It's old already.

  Conan

  Chris is that you?!?

  Lash

That's it, everybody. I'm quitting the live feed for good.

  Izzy

  It's not that bad.

  Lash

I have better things to do though.

  Haven Terms of Service 0.9.21

Your access to and use of Haven is conditioned upon your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms of Service, sometimes referred to as Terms, which apply to all participants, users, and visitors in Haven, and are set and governed by Kablammy Games, who is as an organization exempt from this and any other agreements. How was that for a first sentence? Our hope is that lots of boring legalese at the head of these Terms will hopefully dissuade curious readers. For the 2% who've made it this far, trust us, there's nothing entertaining or illuminating in this document. It's a waste of time to read it. Even international tax lawyers find its contents stuffy.

By accessing, using, or even thinking about Haven, you agree to be bound by these Terms. You may "opt out" at any time and face summary annihilation.

  Residence

All participants, heretofore referred to as Residents, agree to store all aspects of their personality on Kablammy servers. Transfer of ownership is implied and implicit in this transaction. Don't worry about it.

  Happy Fun Time for Everybody!

We included this paragraph for nosy contract skimmers. Besides the feel-good title, this section serves no functional purpose.

  Termination

We may terminate Residents... err, accounts... immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including, without limitation, a breach of the Terms. Or passing fancy.

  Human Rights Compliance

Kablammy strongly believes in individual human protections and will never infringe upon a person's privacy, security, and individuality.

For the purposes of the previous declaration, Residents of Haven are considered collected intelligences and are not human and are therefore exempt from the above clause.

  Beta Conditions

Kablammy reserves the right to dictate Terms of the Beta regardless of the contents of this document. Beta Residents agree to be "guinea pigs," accepting the good and bad in order to serve the interests of actual paying customers. We refer to this internally as the you-get-what-you-pay-for clause. Your life experiences are temporary and solely for the benefit of improving Haven. Congratulations!

Despite stringent beta responsibilities, Residents are solely engaging in entertainment. Your work does not constitute employment nor do you garner salary or any other rights granted to workers. We're even stingy with thank-yous.

Addendum: Let's be honest, MMOs are always technically beta testing one feature or another. As such, the above Beta Terms apply whether or not Haven is officially in beta.

  Wipes

Your possessions, achievements, and identity are the sole property of Kablammy Games. Residents are not afforded an avenue to take action against Kablammy or the devs due to loss of self.

  Content

Despite Haven being a closed system, Residents will not hold Kablammy accountable for any damaging or suspect game content. In fact, Residents are wholly responsible for our mistakes, because why not?

  Patches

Due to necessary patches to keep Haven up-to-date, Kablammy reserves the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will make an attempt to notify all Residents of any changes but, let's face it, there's nothing you can do about it.

  Contact Us

If you have any questions about these Terms of Service, a knowledgeable, around-the-clock staff can be reached by pressing the green Help button in-game. These low-wage treasured peons team members can't really access your account information in any beneficial way, but they work off the best scripts and probably speak English.

  Lore

A Brief History of the Nine

The first sentients to spawn from the primordial ooze of Haven were the titans. They parted from the land in a violent tumult and became kings of the wild and all-powerful gods in their own right. To this end they wrought sons and daughters from the elements themselves: churning rock, roiling rivers, gushing wind, and fueling fires.

The kindred clans that grew learned to idolize the great titans of yore, not legends or figureheads but real, physical masters. Scores of errant folk pledged their loyalties for growing power and thus, too, became masters of the land, even as animals and others sprouted around them.

The Nine did not conquer nature so much as they were nature itself. And for an enduring great age, none would equal their might.

The Cleansing of the Old Gods

Man is nothing if not ambitious. Where the errant folk would cower and serve, mankind boldly swept through the wilderness and made it their own: carving rock, channeling ocean, harnessing wind, and mastering fire. Haven was being tamed in short order.

The titans of yore were not so easily cowed. They thrashed wildly against these incursions. The territories of the Nine were terrible places in this time of upheaval. But the clerics of man discovered the secret of the old giants. They were immortal, but they could be caged.

  The Scourge and the Crusades

Once the nine great cities of man were founded, Haven became a prosperous and dutiful land. No victory, however, is permanent. The errant folk fought to reclaim the wild. Great goblins generals rose from their ranks and militarized the people. Savage wars followed.

An order of knights congregated to stop this new Scourge and protect the people. Roving bands of knights dispatched themselves to the deepest pockets of the wild to cleanse the land. These crusaders drove back their feral enemy, though heavy losses were incurred. Today, their successes an
d sacrifices guarantee safety for all mankind.

  SOLDIER

  Primary Attribute: Strength

  ARTISAN

A heavily equipped defender and craftsman, artisans provide invaluable reinforcement to groups. They're the smiths and engineers, often relying on building strong communities for support. A defensive class, builders strive against the subterfuge of explorers.

  Primary Attribute: Craft

  SKILLS

Skills are specific techniques that are unlocked and purchased through game progression (Ex. sniper shot, rallying aura, fireball, healing, building)

  SELECTION

Skills are available for “purchase” with skill points dependent on several factors:

  - Class Options

  - Level Availability

  - Skill Tree Access

  - Quest Rewards

  CLASS OPTIONS

Classes offer differing skill set opportunities.

Soldier - weapons, hand-to-hand combat, tactical skills

Builder - defense buffs, tool building, urban skills

Mystic - spells, healing, spiritual skills

Scout - sneaking, first aid, wildlife skills

A starting Core Class will contain the major skills but minor skills can be purchased in Consort Classes (although not all Consort Skills will be available). Opposition Class skills are unavailable.

  LEVEL AVAILABILITY

New skills become available at certain level thresholds. It is just a matter of leveling to unlock them.

  SKILL TREE ACCESS

Any skill that can be purchased outright (in the above two categories) is a root skill. However, many skills are arranged into trees. Purchasing and/or leveling a root skill, for example, may unlock a branch of skills for future purchase. Those branch skills may further unlock others. This means some skills are only accessible after mastering others.

  QUEST REWARDS

Almost anything in AO can be awarded on completion of special quests. Skills are no exception.

  PROGRESSION

Most skills are purchased once and done, but weapon skills have levels. Spending a point will raise general expertise with the weapon (damage, hit chance, etc.). It will also allow individual weapon skills to be upgraded. A specialized weapon skill cannot be upgraded to a level higher than the general weapon skill.

  PROFICIENCIES

Proficiencies are minor skills that improve through practice and research. They do not cost spirit and aren't limited by timers. Some proficiencies are learnable by everyone, but most of them are core class abilities. In general, attempting certain activities enough will activate a proficiency, which the player can improve by repeating the activity. Certain research items can also gift proficiency advances.

Proficiencies have 3 levels of knowledge:

  FLEDGLING

Player has very limited experience in the area, enough to know to attempt it but not enough to be very successful. The proficiency performed is sometimes, and with mixed success.

  SKILLED

Player is familiar with the basics of the activity and can repeatedly perform it at adequate levels. This can be a handy bonus in times of need. The proficiency performed is usually moderately successful, especially under simple circumstances.

  EXPERT

Through extensive research and uses, the player has surpassed most others in the area of knowledge and can perform the activity with a level of precision that will impress others. The proficiency performed is usually successful, executed at a high level, even under duress.

  DEATH

The following items occur upon death:

Respawn at home with a 4 hour forced lockdown (grounded). Can read emails, but no emails out.

Random Equipment is dropped (not all). Can be Salvaged by players and immediately returned to player at home. (Having friends is good).

Level is zeroed out to minimum XP, but no level drop. Current level points are unassigned.

Party disbanded so cannot speak until regrouped.
