CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX
Judge Parker looked worn out.
“That is the most incredulous and intriguing story I have ever heard in my life, Ms. Carter,” he said. “The very fact that you are an attorney working in my court is unfathomable to me after what you have told me. I mean just look at you. I am honored to be working with you to say the least.”
Jackie looked at him closely. “Judge, it has been a long day. We have a very busy day tomorrow. Yes, it was a remarkable journey and it continues today. But that is another story for another day.”
