She knew she was looking at her future. She had known that for a while, but now she was free to take what was hers—when she was ready. She needed time to process and heal first. She wanted to be whole and healed for Frank. What their lives together would look like was still a mystery. She enjoyed imagining it. She didn’t know if they would be blessed with children. Time would tell if she could carry a child. If it turned out to be only the two of them, that would be enough.
Allie knew they would move away from here. Frank was a doctor and he needed to be where he could run his own office. This town was a good size, but not more than Doc could handle. She didn’t care where she ended up. Just knowing she would be with someone who loved her and would cherish and protect her was more than enough.
Allie knew that was all that mattered to Frank, too. She could tell by his eyes when he looked at her. Life would have its ups and downs, but she would have a wonderful man beside her to hold her hand, and an amazing Father above to guide her future. That is—and was—all she ever needed.

Thank you so much for choosing to read my first novel. Writing was something I thought about doing off and on for a long time before I finally decided to take the plunge. I had read about the Big Blowup by chance and the story idea just came to me. I’m not really sure where in my brain these characters crawled out of, but I feel that they have somehow always resided with me just waiting for the right time to show themselves. This was a work of love that I fit into my spare time for a couple of years. I did it just to see if I could and after my first editor and a few beta readers gave it praise I decided to follow through with publishing. ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Stefanie Bridges-Mikota grew up in a small town in SW Washington halfway between the beautiful Pacific Ocean and Majestic Cascade Mountains. She was raised by two hard working people who instilled old time values in a modern world. She married her high school sweetheart and together they have two children. The small town they call home is not far from Stefanie’s childhood roots and an easy place to be a writer without all of the business found in the cities to the north and south.
Stefanie is one of those people who, despite quickly approaching middle age, is still trying to decide what to do when she grows up. She has worked in a variety of fields which has given her some great knowledge to work into future books. Now she is trying her hand at writing which she finds quite fulfilling.
