Beautiful Days (Jason Of The Valley Book 5) Page 27

by Jason K. Melby

"Things are going good for you two?"

"Yes. I guess. It's hard to say since all we really do is have sex."

"Purely physical? That can be fun too."

"I'm starting to see what my Dad was talking about with him. He's like a force of sexual nature."

  "But do you ever talk?"

"Not unless you count 'ready, set, go.'."

"And you're happy with this arrangement?"

"I am actually. It's kind of liberating to just let go of the hang ups and insecurities. I can be free with Jeff. I feel no pressure or anxiety with him. I trust him."

"Well, I'm hardly one to pass judgment on anyone's relationship, so I'm going to be happy for you on this one. In fact, why don't you take off and get your night started. I can finish up here."

  "You sure?"

"Yes. Now get out of here."

"Bless you!" Mike said as he bolted for the door.

Mike first swung by his place and showered and cleaned as best he could. He just wanted to be ready for anything. He debated using cologne. Sometimes smelling good was an all right and other times it wasn't so he decided to skip the Curve and just trust his shower gel would keep him smelling good enough.

He then had to choose what he was going to wear. He assumed since they were meeting in a hotel room, whatever clothes he would be wearing wouldn't be on for long, so he opted for a more casual ensemble.

He made it to the hotel in record time. The closer he got, the harder his heart pounded. He parked the car and just sat there for a moment. He ran down the list of all the things they had done so far and began to wonder what was left on the list. There were equal parts fear and excitement in Mike's heart.

He got out of the car and walked into the hotel lobby and found the elevators. He went up to the second floor and walked directly to room 208. Before he knocked, the door opened and he saw Jeff standing before him with a look of glee on his face that he had never seen before.

"About time." Jeff said as he pulled Mike in.

  "So what are we doing?"

"Here," Jeff handed Mike a blindfold. "Put that on and take off all your clothes."

"Hold on. What's going on? What is this?" Jeff took Mike's hand and they sat on the bed.

"I wanted to do something special for you, but considering all that we've already done, it was hard to figure out what and then I had a great idea. I rented the room next door and inside there is someone waiting to meet you."

"Another person? You want a three-way?"

  "That's all right, isn't it?"

"Well, I don't know. We never really talked about including anyone else."

"That's true, but this is really special. I've had this fantasy for so long and I think it's something you'd enjoy too."

  "Yeah?"

"It's just for tonight. Just once. Give it a try. If you don't like it, we stop." Mike held the blindfold in his hand and even though he was having some reservations about Jeff's suggestion, his heart was still pounding.

  "Fine."

"Yes! Okay. Here are the rules."

  "Rules?"

"There have to be rules. That's where the tension comes from. That's what makes it exciting. First. You keep the blindfold on. No matter what."

"All right." Mike said as he began to get undressed.

"Second. No talking. I already laid this out for the other guy and he knows. I want this to be a deeply sensual experience."

"Okay." Mike said as he walked to the door leading to the next room. Jeff leapt up and grabbed him by the shoulder.

  "Blindfold!"

  "What? Now?"

"Yes. Just put it on." Jeff demanded. Mike slipped it on and all he could see was darkness.

"Good. Here," Jeff said as he opened the door and guided Mike in. "He's right there on the bed. Naked. That's as far as I'll lead you. I'll be back in a bit."

  "Where are you going?"

"Just want to get some party favors. Just get started without me. It's okay." Jeff then led Mike to the bed and left. Mike climbed onto the bed and he could sense someone near. Whoever it was got up and soon Mike felt a hand on his arm. He felt his way along and soon felt the other man's leg. It was firm and hairy. Mike was beginning to see the appeal of the situation. There was nothing more to sense about the other man but how he felt and smelled. Mike ran his hand up from the leg and along his torso. He wasn't muscular, but he was firm. Mike's arm slid around the other guy and he shuffled closer to him. He was wearing a thick, musky aftershave. Their bodies soon pressed together and Mike could feel strange hands running up his back. He then felt wetness on his shoulder and he realized the other guy was kissing him. His mouth was strong but yielding. Mike pulled the mystery man even tighter against his body. He felt the stranger's head brush against his cheek and he could anticipate his mouth nearing his own. Soon, Mike felt the sensation of the man's tongue squirming into his mouth, and the fact that he had no idea who it really was only ignited Mike's passions. Mike had no idea what Jeff could have been getting ready to intensify the moment. Mike could feel the stranger's rigid manhood poking into his leg. It was becoming too much and Jeff hadn't returned. Mike didn't really see the harm in taking a quick peek. He felt the stranger working his way back down Mike's neck and in a quick motion; he pulled the blindfold from his eyes just enough to see who the new guy was. Mike couldn't see his face, but from what he could see, he gathered he was an older man. The man then moved and Mike was able to see his face and once Mike saw, he leapt back and fell to the floor. He scrambled around until he pulled the blindfold off and he looked up and saw his father on the bed.

"Dad!" Mike cried. Mike's father peeled off his blindfold and looked down at his son.

  "Mike!?"

"What the Hell are you doing here?"

"Jeff called and asked if I wanted to play."

  "And you said yes?"

"He said you had told him it was okay."

"Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God." Mike chanted as he paced around the room. He then realized he was naked and he grabbed a sheet off the bed and wrapped up into it.

  "Calm down."

  "You're kidding right?"

"Okay. We didn't do anything that bad, right?"

"I felt your tongue in my mouth!"

  "Don't think about it."

"I can't stop! Oh my God! I was fooling around with my father!"

"You need to calm down, Mike."

"Maybe I could if you could cover up!" He then grabbed the cover off the bed and wrapped it around his waist.

"Now come here and sit down."

"Actually, if it's cool, I'll sit down over here." Mike said as he sat down on a chair across the room.

"Better idea. All right. So that happened."

"Yes." Mike could feel his heart slowing down at last.

  "I didn't know about this."

"Neither did I. I can't believe he'd do this. I mean, what the Hell was he thinking?"

"Jeff was always pretty wild in the sack." Mike's father said.

"I figured that out soon enough, but this is off the charts."

"The thing about Jeff is the more he gets, the more he wants."

"Is this what he wanted? A three way with a father and son?"

"I don't know what he wants. Honestly, being with him was kind of exhausting. In fact, this whole open marriage thing has been like that. I'm thinking we're done with it."

"Not that I really want to know, but what's Mom been doing?"

"I have no idea. Nothing as far as I can tell. I think she just likes having me off her back. She's been doing a lot of crafts. Your mother was never very open. Sexually."

"Wow. A bad night keeps getting worse."

"Sorry. What do we do now?"

"I need to talk to Jeff, that's for sure."

  "Why are you with him?"

  "What?"

"I mean, he's fun in bed, but he's not the kind of guy you should settle down with."

"You have an idea about what kind of guy I should b
e with?"

"Why wouldn't I? I'm your father and I care about with whom you spend your life."

"Well, to answer your question, right now I don't know why I'm with Jeff. When I first found out about you two, I have to admit I was kind of jealous. I guess that's why I was so mad. I was just frustrated."

"And now that you've had a taste?"

"I'm done. I need someone stable."

"Amen! I know it may be a little late, but I am sorry about Ivan. I thought he was going to be a good guy."

"Me too. Thanks,” Mike leaned back in the chair and let out a deep breath. “Wow."

  "'Wow' what?"

"We've never really talked like this before. I kind of feel like I could tell you anything."

  "You didn't before?"

"Not really. I always felt like there was this wall between us. I felt like you didn't want to hear about my personal business."

"In the beginning, it wasn't my favorite topic, but as I got used to it I accepted the fact that my son was going to be with a man and I was okay with it." Mike got up and sat down next to his father and slipped his hand around his shoulder.

"Weirdest bonding ever." Mike said. His father laughed and smiled.

"I think this is the end of our open marriage experiment."

  "Really?"

"Yes. Honestly, I didn't really get much out of it. I don't think your mother did anything. She's just been very active with her craft projects. I think she agreed to it to get me off her back. Ever since I retired, I’ve been feeling like I’ve missed something in my life. I guess I’ve just been trying everything I can to figure out what it might be. Most of my life I’ve been pretty straight laced and by the book. I thought maybe I’d try stepping out of the margins for a bit. I think I may have stepped too far. What about us?"

"It's going to take some time, but I think I can get past this. Like you said, we didn't really do anything that bad."

"That's right." Mike then stood up and turned to his father.

“But you’ll understand if you don’t hear from me for a few weeks.”

  “Totally understand.”

"Now, I'm going to go into the other room and get dressed and leave. I'll talk to you and Mom later."

"Good idea. I'll wait for you to leave before I go." Mike nodded to his suggestion and went back to the other room.

As Mike walked in he saw Jeff emerging from the bathroom clad in some strange latex get up carrying an armful of dildos and vibrators.

"You guys done already?" Mike rushed up to him and with the speed of a bullet he punched him in the face, sending him back against the wall. Jeff recovered easily and seemed unphased by the assault. It looked as though he almost enjoyed it.

"You are unbelievable! My father? My own father?"

  "You peeked."

"And a damn good thing I did. You were actually trying to get me to hook up with my father? That was your big fantasy?"

  "And yours."

  "I never said that."

"No, but you like those porn videos with the incest themes."

"Simulated incest. That doesn't mean it's something I actually want to do! And what's with all of that? What were you planning to do with us in there?" Mike asked as he pointed to the toys in Jeff's arms.

"Just some ideas. I thought you were open to this kind of stuff."

"I am to some of it. I draw the line at including blood relatives."

"It's not like he could get you pregnant."

"That's not the issue. He's my Dad! He taught me how to swim and ride a bike. I don't want to fuck with him." Jeff dropped the toys onto the bed and shook his head to a thought in his head.

"I knew you'd back down. I mean, you've played a good game, but I knew you didn't have what it took to go all the way."

"How far did you intend to take this? What would come after this? Actually, no. Don't tell me. I don't want to know."

"I just wanted to make you happy."

"Getting me into bed with my father was not going to make me happy. Maybe we should try and go back to dating again. We can go back to talking and learning about each other."

"Boring. I'm not interested in dating."

"Then why did you, oh. The whole reason you were pursuing me was this. This is what you wanted all along. You were just playing the long con."

"Well, it would have happened a lot faster if I had gotten the right drink."

  "What? What did you say?"

"That night at the bar? With your friend’s book signing? I put something in your drink. One of your friends had some pills and she told me about them when I got her alone."

  "Cynthia?"

"Didn’t get her name. She said the pills had some kind of weird personality altering after effects, so I figured it was worth a shot. I popped one in your drink, except it wasn't your drink."

"It was David's. You spiked David's drink!"

  "A misfire."

"So you were trying to drug me? What the Hell is wrong with you?"

"Don't freak. I didn't have to after all since we left together."

"Oh my God. I have to go."

"Wait! Just because the whole three-way thing is a bust doesn't mean we can't play. I mean, I have the room."

"Enjoy it," Mike then looked over to the toys laying on the bed. "It looks like you have plenty to keep you busy on your own."

  Chapter 42

  Beautiful Days. Ugly Neighbors.

Jason struggled out of bed and shuffled to the kitchen. He had trouble sleeping the night before, so he felt as though he were just going through the motions. The only objective in his mind was breakfast. He had grown into the habit of cooking an actual breakfast each morning and to that end, he always made sure there were plenty of eggs. He grabbed the carton and cracked six eggs into a bowl and whisked them like a pro and then poured them into a skillet and then turned on one of the burners on the stove. As he set the skillet down, he realized he was only cooking for one. He looked down as the eggs started to bubble and cook. He recalled how David would sneak up behind him as he toiled over the stove on most mornings. His heart ached for a moment. His thoughts were interrupted by Bill's loud barking from outside.

"What's going on out here?" Jason asked as he stepped out onto his porch. He saw Bill stooped over picking up his morning paper, which had been spread out on the ground.

"The damn paper boy, or whoever leaves this thing here, left it unbound and when I picked it up, it spilled."

  "Sorry."

"It's important. The morning paper has been a ritual for me for years. It's how I start my day."

  "Really?"

"Yeah. I skim over the front page. Read the sports page and comics. That and a good cup of Joe and my day can begin."

"Well, how about some eggs to go with the coffee? I made more than I can eat."

"Are you actually inviting me into your home? To eat?"

"Yes. I trust you've had all your shots."

"Let me just get my paper together and I'll be in." Jason nodded and then went back inside and straight to the kitchen. He finished cooking the eggs and piled them onto two plates in even quantities. He then popped some frozen sausages into the oven and started up the coffee. As he retrieved a carton of orange juice from the fridge, he heard the front door open and Bill lumber into the kitchen.

"Looks good." Bill said as he sat down at the table and sorted out his paper.

"Thanks." Jason then set out the sausages and fixed Bill's coffee.

"So, how do you end up making too many eggs?"

"I guess I was just on cruise control this morning. I'm so used to making breakfast for two."

"I have to admit. I'm a bit surprised. I would have thought you'd let Dave come back by now."

"I've thought about it, but every time I got up the nerve to call him, I'd get some nagging doubt. It was like a voice warning me about something."

  "And you listened."

  "Shouldn't I have?"

"That's your call. You have any toas
t?"

"Just a minute," Jason got up and got the bread out of the fridge and threw a couple of slices in the toaster. "Butter? Jelly?"

"If you got 'em." Jason trudged to the pantry and grabbed a jar of strawberry jam and then got a tub of butter out of the fridge and set them on the table just before he fetched the two well toasted slices of bread and dropped them on Bill's plate.

"Besides," Jason began as he sat back down. "The last time I spoke with David, it doesn't seem like he'd come back even if I asked him."

  "You guys have a fight?"

"Sort of. He asked if he could come back and I said no. Then he blew up at me. I think it's over."

  "You want my advice?"

  "Not particularly."

"Well, here it is anyway. Call him. Tell him you're sorry and get him back here."

"Since when did you jump to Team David?"

"This isn't about teams or sides. I've been thinking about this and while what he did was horrible, if you two are really in this for the long haul you can't let this one stumble be the end of it. Speaking as a man who is still on the hook to three bitch ex-wives, I can tell you that if you're looking to be together for a long time, you are going to have a lot of fights. Much bigger fights about much bigger things. You're going to see how ugly you both can really be. Figuratively and literally. You're going to be sick in front of each other. You're going to see each other’s shit. You are going to smell and see the most disgusting things of him and he's going to see the same things about you. You are going to be bare to each other in a way no other person will be. Your lives won't be an endless string of beautiful days. There are going to be some ugly ones as well. It's about loving each other even at your ugliest. Being able to forgive when a mistake is made. What if it had been you? What if this whole thing was switched around?"

"But it wasn't. How can I trust him?"

"So he got a little drunk and had a little fun in the men's room. You're the one he wants to come back to. You're the one he wants forgiveness from. Trust can be broken easily, but it can be rebuilt. Look, Jay, I've seen you do this dance more times than I care to count. You found a good one with Dave, from what I could see. I mean, it sounded like he got you out of your comfort zone and really pushed you to live."

"I really just asked you over for breakfast to be nice. I wasn't looking for a counseling session."
